'How is this possible? How am I still alive? I should be dead; did someone save me? How many days has it been science I have been since that day? All my wounds seem to be healed already, does that mean I have been here for more than 2-3 months?' Renji asked himself many questions as he was unsure how he ended up in this situation. There were many questions that Renji wanted answered, but thinking about how long he had been here was the only question that bothered him the most.
His sister and parents must have been worried sick searching for him, he didn't even know what they must have been doing to search for him. The thing that worried Renji the most was the monster meat that his sister required the most, without it she would be malnourished. Renji felt his sweat go cold as he thought about that situation.
"AHHHHH FUCK FUCK….." yelled Renji as he couldn't bear the pain he suffered while he tried to get off the bed. Renji felt as if all of the bones and muscles in his body were aching, even though he seemed to have been healed it seemed he was still hurt from the insides.
Renji slowly got off the bed and started exploring the room he was currently in, there were many foreign objects inside the room that Renji had never experienced before, and the room was beautifully decorated with different types of decorations from all over the world. Renji concluded three things after looking at the room.
First was that the owner of the home loved to roam the world, or at least had a love for collection, second the owner loved to keep their home neat and pleasing to the eyes, Renji could see how much effort they had put into decorating the small home. Lastly, the owner was some kind of collector of ancient artifacts, all over the room many relics were scattered around all over the place. Renji slowly made his way out of the room and reached the living area, the living area was also decorated similarly to the room, the only difference was that that living room was 3 times bigger than the room he was in and the objects here seemed even older and rarer than the ones outside.
'Should I take one of these? I can earn a lot of money if I sell it.' Thought Renji as he looked at a relic, he was thinking of selling it in the city. Just when he was about to touch the item, Renji moved his hand backward.
'I can't, how can I steal from someone who saved my life and took care of me for so many days? I should leave.' Thought Renji as he knew if he stayed here longer, he might not be able to resist his urges to steal from the room. Renji made up his mind and walked straight to the door without glancing at anything else that was present in the room. there was no way he was going to repay their kindness with deceit today.
'What is this place?' asked Renji himself as he made his way out of the door, it seemed like he was in the middle of a huge, beautiful forest and the place he was staying for all of this time was a cottage. Renji was speechless for a minute there as he kept on looking around himself, he had never seen someplace so beautiful and full of life.
'What is this place, this place is weirdly so calming, is this heaven? Am I dead, is this afterlife?' Renji was forced to question himself once again as he stumbled across a scene so beautiful. The entire forest was very colorful covered with different types of flowers and huge trees. The trees were so huge that he had to look straight upwards just to see the top of the tree. The entire forest was covered with the vines of the tree, and the mines that were hanging from the tree were covered with flowers that managed to latch onto the vines.
"But which way should I go?" Ranji asked himself as he was confused about where he was currently, he had no idea which way he should go to find his home.
"I remember seeing a device that looked like a phone I should check that device to find the way." Renji once again entered the living room of the cottage, he found the device and tried to unlock the device. Fortunately, the device wasn't locked or else he would be doomed.
"Fuck, why am I here, who the fuck lives in such a place?" Renji was dumbfounded once he saw the location he was in right now. Never he had imagined that people were living here in such a dangerous place.
It seemed like he was somewhere inside the second last layer of the forest of grudges, he never imagined that some people would be willing to live in such a place, what was most surprising was how beautiful the place was. He never imagined that the forest would be so full of life, he even saw small rabbits and small animals running around the place. He had always imagined the forest to be full of dead spirits, dark and swampy devoid of life since he was a kid.
"How am I supposed to get out of this hell hole, fuck." Renji cursed as he knew that this part of the forest was infamous for being a very dangerous place filled with high-level monsters. Although he was surprised that the place was so beautiful, he also knew that this place was home to devilish monsters there was no doubt about that.
"Fuck it I will have to try even if it kills me, there is no other choice. I have to reach my family as soon as possible, I don't even know what happened to them after the sudden attack, I hope they are unharmed." Said Renji to himself as he put down the phone, he came out of the cottage and started to walk towards the way that was shown on the map. He hoped that he was walking in the right direction.
He wanted to run but he was only able to walk, his body wasn't ready to run as of yet, so he kept on walking straight. A few hours later, he had walked 10 km, and although he was having a hard time traveling, he never gave up. On the way he even picked up two sticks, his legs were starting to give up so he decided to support his body weight with the help of the sticks. Although in so much pain he continued.
"What was that, it feels weird." Said Renji as he looked around.
Right at the moment Renji crossed the 10 km mark, he felt something different. Suddenly, the warmth he had felt up until now vanished, replaced by a chilled atmosphere. Although the forest looked the same, Renji could instantly spot the changes immediately. He could just feel, he wasn't able to explain what had just happened. Paying no heed to what had just happened, Renji continued on his path without turning back.
"We are home." An old voice spoke as she entered the cottage where Renji was earlier.
"Hummm..Hummmm you just rest on the bed okay? I'll cook something soothing for you ASAP." Said the old lady while humming as she opened the door to the room where Renji had laid earlier.
