Chapter 19 - The Crows Move

Kanou General Hospital.

"After the Steel Beams Incident, an urgent surgery was performed in the hospital, transplanting Rize Kamishiro's organs from the deceased patient into Ken Kaneki, the surviving patient who remains in a coma, or at least that's what we know so far."

"Falcon, your mission is to capture the doctor and ensure you obtain the relevant information before he leaves the hospital. Additionally, Ken Kaneki's case is to be transferred to the private Black Moon hospital under our care."

In a large, dark truck, the fifth pillar in the hierarchy of high command, Taizo, looked at the numerous screens in front of him and sipped a special wine created solely for Ghouls.

"It's surprising they send me on these boring missions. If they had sent any of the lower nine pillars, I'm sure they would have completed this mission successfully." Taizo, a rather bulky Ghoul, complained as he struck the desk with force.

A man with round glasses, spiky hair, and a black suit beside him responded to Taizo in a highly formal tone, "My Lord Taizo, you hold the fifth pillar position not just for your strength but for your skill in special missions. Haven't you read the report? It's not only about kidnapping two people but also finding out how that boy named Kaneki survived with Ghoul organs transferred into his body."

"If we take Dr. Kanou directly, we'll know what he's plotting. It's unbelievable; how dare he conduct those experiments in District 20?" Taizo shook his head and reclined in his seat.

Taizo appeared to be a young man with dark brown, short, slightly wavy hair. His distinctive feature was his narrow, brown eyes, which earned him the title of the Lone Crow within the organization, something he despised.

His Kagune was a Rinkaku, and his rank was SS compared to other Ghouls. It's worth mentioning that neither he nor the other pillars resorted to cannibalism to increase their power. On the contrary, they trained rigorously and maintained strict diets to continue increasing their strength.

"How is the weapon deal going?" Taizo asked in a bored tone.

Leorio adjusted his glasses and mumbled, "Mr. Barbosa should handle it. After all, it's just a matter of receiving the weapons from Europe, nothing out of the ordinary."

"But I wanted to go..." Taizo loved the sea, and the delivery was supposed to be by sea, but a senseless mission from his perspective arose, diverting his plans.

Inside the hospital, a squad of 20 Crows, half of whom were Ghouls and the rest humans, infiltrated the hospital from different directions, awaiting Captain Falcon to take charge of the doctor.

There weren't many human staff around, and the security wasn't particularly high, as it was just a common hospital. This greatly facilitated the mission, and Falcon was able to enter the waiting room outside Dr. Kanou's office.

"So far, all clear. Maintain your positions," Falcon whispered.

Falcon has an intimidating appearance. He is bald by choice, with slightly tanned skin, light brown eyes, and a deep gaze that quickly caught the attention of people around him.

A nurse named Taguchi immediately approached Falcon and asked in a friendly tone, "Excuse me, sir. Do you have an appointment with Dr. Kanou?"

Falcon looked up and, noticing the dwindling number of patients, nodded. He then spoke directly, "Of course. Could you kindly lead me to him?"

"I'm sorry, but could you give me your name to look up on the client list..." Nurse Taguchi initially smiled amiably, but after seeing a pistol in Falcon's jacket, her face turned pale.

"Excuse my bluntness, I'm with the CCG, and I need to meet with Dr. Kanou immediately. Would you be so kind as to take me to him?"

"Right now... I, I don't think I can..." Taguchi slowly stepped back as if what Falcon was asking was much more than she could offer.

"It's not a request, Miss Taguchi. If you don't do exactly what I'm asking, your chances of getting out of this alive are diminishing by the second. You may have been very kind, but you know why I'm here, given your involvement in that surgery. Do you want to be implicated right now?" Falcon's penetrating gaze and gravelly voice left Taguchi terrified, and she immediately told him to follow her as she moved towards the doctor's office.

"Just get in already. Do you think I'm playing games?"

"I'm sorry, forgive me..." Taguchi had just been thinking that something like this would happen, after all, they had transplanted Ghoul organs into a human, and it was normal that they would be caught shortly after.

Before she opened the door, it was pushed open from the inside, and Dr. Kanou escorted one of his patients to the door. When his gaze met Taguchi's, he frowned. He quickly focused on the man beside her and asked, "Do you have an appointment? If not, you won't be able to enter."

"I think we're not understanding each other. I didn't come here for an appointment, but specifically to speak with you." Falcon drew his pistol and said, "Now, let's go inside and talk, or things will get a little out of hand..."

"Come in..." Dr. Kanou looked at Falcon coldly and gave in to the threats.

Falcon smiled and said, "No need to sit down; it will all be over soon. Dr. Kanou, we've been following your steps for the past few days. We know what you've done with Kaneki and others. Now, you have two options: you can leave here peacefully and come with me, or we can do it the hard way, in a bloodbath."

Dr. Kanou furrowed his brow, unsure of what was happening. He tried to calm the situation, saying, "I only saved a life, that's all we did in the surgery on young Kaneki."

"Don't play games with me, Dr. Kanou. Alive or dead, I was ordered to take you back. Your actions threaten the stability of the human-Ghoul worlds, so to learn more about your research, you'll have to come with me."

"You must understand that my research is of vital importance to human evolution. My methods may seem unusual, but they serve a higher purpose," Dr. Kanou seemed to lose his composure for a moment.

In a sarcastic tone, Falcon said, "A higher purpose, you say? Turning humans into monsters, into Ghouls? That's what you're doing, isn't it?"

Doctor Kanou nodded and muttered, "Yes, but..."

Falcon interrupted the conversation, saying, "I don't care. You will transfer Kaneki to the private Black Moon hospital. You can choose to cooperate and leave here with clean hands, or I can guarantee that you won't take another breath without shedding blood."

Doctor Kanou, trying to buy time to figure out what to do, said, "You don't understand; please let me explain..."

"No need for explanations. We've investigated enough. You and I know what you've done. Now, what will it be? Peaceful exit or a bloody one?" Falcon was only tasked with taking this doctor, transferring Kaneki to their hospital, and taking away or eliminating those involved. There was nothing else he cared about.

"Come on, there's no other way, is there?"

Falcon looked at the nurse and told her, "You'll come with us too."
