Chapter 2 - Disappearance of Nightfall

Otto: (Daylight shining in his eyes.) Ugh, fuck. *Blocks his eyes with his hands.* Oh, fuck, it's morning. I overslept.

(Takes on his shoes quickly and leaves.)

*Time skip half an hour.*

Otto: I finally made it. Holy shit, he lives far away. Why did I run? Could've called a cab. Ugh, whatever.

(Enters the mansion.)

Otto: Well, good morning, Alfred. Have you seen Bruce around?

Alfred: He's down in the Batcave, sir Otto.

Otto: Alfred, be casual, please. We've talked about this. Don't call me "Stone," please. (Past trauma.)

Alfred: My apologies, Sir Otto. Won't happen again.

Otto: Alright, I've got to see Batman. See you, Alfred.

**Arrives in the Batcave, sees Bruce trying to find Joker's clues.**

Otto: Still looking for him? Seriously, did you sleep yet? Did you find anything?

Batman: That's none of your business, and no, there's been zero trace of the Joker since yesterday's incident, which you shouldn't have int...

Otto: If you mean save your life, yeah, no problem. You're welcome. Well, I'm not here to argue, so please.

Batman: Why are you here? I haven't called for you.

Otto: I'm not an outsider; I'm your coworker, and you know that. Stop treating me like that, okay? Even Alfred.

Batman: You're a disciple, not a coworker now. I'm tasking you with the investigation at the explosion site.

Otto: Everything's blown up. What do you want me to search for? And no, forget that. A disciple, really? You haven't taught me anything for me to be your disciple at this point. You just use me, and even when I save you, you are never grateful. I'm done. *Turns around and leaves the Batcave and the mansion.*

Alfred: Master Bruce, you shouldn't treat your colleagues like this. He's helped you on multiple occasions and even saved your life. Be appreciative at least.

Batman: Alfred, I'm going out to the explosion site. Make sure nothing happens.

Alfred: Very well, sir. (He should listen instead of ignoring his problems.)

Otto: *Calls Cale.* Dude, I'm done with Batman. I can't take it anymore. I'm going somewhere. I sent you enough money to last for a while.

Cale: Hey, hey, calm down. What do you mean you're leaving? Where? Why? Is it Batman again? Leave it be. Don't stress, don't leave.

Otto: Sorry, I need this. You can't convince me. I'll miss you, dude. Thank you for everything. I'll come back soon enough. Don't miss me too much. *Throws the phone away.*

Cale POV: Ah, that bastard just leaving. (Facepalm.) I should teach him a lesson.

Kenji: Meow. Almost as if he's agreeing with Cale.

At least I have you, Kenji. Time to give Batman a visit later, I suppose.

**Batman's comms activate.**

Alfred: Master Bruce, anything on Sir Otto yet?

Batman: Not yet, Alfred. I'm still looking, and I even have Superman on this. Somehow he slipped through all the cameras. Either out of Gotham or hiding in Gotham, I'm not sure yet.

Alfred: Master Bruce, maybe he found something he was going to share the day he came here?

Batman: That's possible. He pursued it himself, but why he had to find him, this could be important.

Alfred: Master Bruce, I brought tea. If you would like some. (Some expensive tea.)

Batman: Yes, Alfred, pour me some tea. But I need to work in peace after, so please leave after you're done pouring.

Alfred: Of course, Master Bruce. (Puts the tea on his table and leaves.)

Batman: Nightfall. Why did you leave? (Gets into deep thought.) Until he's suddenly interrupted by an alert from his cameras. Who's this? *Searches his face on his Batcomputer.* Hm, Nightfall's friend, I see. No criminal records; he's clean. Maybe he has information on Nightfall's whereabouts.
