"I seriously hate your habits, if you want to die that bad then, go get yourself killed but, don't just involve me," I told Sophie for the umpteenth time.
From my own point of view apart from Sophie being one of the strongest among our age group and her beauty, she was practically useless when it came to all other aspects 'especially when it comes to being a group leader and a scout' and if it was not for my system that could sense if soul beasts were nearby, then we would have been dead a while back but despite that, she keeps on insisting that since she was the group leader then I should be following her orders and learn to trust her.
"As a scout, our main job is to quietly infiltrate our enemy base however, you're clearly doing the opposite," I said angrily.
"So what if you hate my habits, huh," She retorted a bit angrily " I was only sent here to protect you from dying since you're so weak besides if you know you don't need my help then you should have come here on your own."
"Shit," I cursed as I pushed her away from me.
~boom~ a large explosion was heard as we barely dodged the fireball that was lunched at us.
"We're surrounded, do something," I yelled at her. Thanks to her we had drawn the attention of some nearby soul beasts and right now I couldn't even think properly, we were surrounded by 10 peak awakened fiery serpents and although Sophie was already an initial Expert stage cultivator, I knew she wouldn't be able to deal with all of them at once.
Meaning I would have to deal with 5 of them by myself even though these soul beasts were stronger than me and if they were just some weak monsters I could test my abilities on then I would have been happy about that but, these were not weak monsters so fuck it.

"Yes," I replied without any hesitation. Soon I felt a huge amount of energy rush into me and although I wasn't sure if Sophie will notice that I'm different, I still decided to take the risk because I knew there was no way I could come out alive if I fought 5 fiery serpents on my own.
"Seems like my vampire form is not really different from my human form," I muttered. Apart from some minor changes in my skin color and the fangs that I got, there was no other change and also a new ability I could only use in my vampire form was added, [Regeneration].
Also in my vampire form, I could fight as long as I wanted to without worrying about losing my arms or limbs since they would simply regenerate back but, once I suffered from blood loss, I could go berserk and wouldn't be able to differentiate between friends and foes.
"Sorry but you messed with the wrong person," I laughed as I dashed towards the fiery serpents and in less than five minutes, I had completely killed all of them including the ones that were still fighting Sophie.

"Hey, stop what you're doing," I yelled as I quickly reverted back to my human form before she notices my fangs "are you trying to kill your groom? First you try to get my attention and now you want to dispose of me, how despicable."
"I never intended to be your bride, 'you idiot', or did you were the one who was chasing me and begging me to be your bride," she said "besides, how were you able to kill those beasts really fast or have you been hiding your cultivation all along?"
Hmm, it seems she didn't notice my vampire form, I thought. Seems like the concept of vampires and beast kins aren't know in this realm.
"But if that was the case, the system wouldn't have given me any information about them," I wondered " I'll just figure this out later."
~ Oh, I didn't hide my cultivation from anyone besides, I don't see any reason as to why I would do that, I answered.
" I'll believe you this time," she replied with a suspicious look.

"Ha-ha," I panted as lay down on the ground while suffering from exhaustion.
I never knew we could kill a soul beasts overlord. Nice work Sophie.
"Tsk, I'm pretty sure you were hiding your true cultivation all along. There's way an advance stage cultivator can kill a soul beast overlord, it doesn't make any sense besides, I'm very sure that not all master stage cultivator can defeat a soul beasts overlord so how did you do it?" Sophie asked as she glanced at me with a curious gaze.
Although I would have loved to tell her about my vampire form, I decided not to besides, I knew I was just lucky while fighting the soul beasts overlord. Even with my increased speed and strength I get from my vampire form, I still took a of damage and almost died, I still managed to kill the damn beast.
And even though I barely managed to survive, I was still very excited and why? I managed to get 105 exp and 105 system points from killing the soul beasts overlord and some if its subordinates so, I had 120 exp and 170 system points.
Even though I was eager to buy a beginner level ability since both of my abilities weren't suited for any type of combat, I decided not to because I felt the beginner level abilities shouldn't be as good as the others and also my vampire form was already getting starved since I lost a lot of blood during the fight.
"Hey Sophie, don't tell anyone I killed the soul beasts overlord. If you are asked just say you killed it while I dealt with most of the weaker ones," I suggested.
"Why should I do that?" Sophie asked "or are you a spy from another kingdom?"
"I've told you already, I have nothing to hide besides, if you tell them you killed the monster overlord, they could give you a lot of resources, I mean think about it. News about an expert stage cultivator killing a soul beasts overlord, that would throw the whole kingdom into a frenzied state, you would be treated as a more important person," I said.
" But, what do you want in return? Or don't tell me you are just giving me this 'opportunity' for free," Sophie replied.
"I don't want anything in return except you consider taking me as your groom," I said with a wink.
"Heck no," she replied hastily "anyway, it was nice collaborating with you," she said with a smile.
"Phew, I can't believe she accepted my offer without thinking about it," I thought inwardly.
Although the benefits one would receive from this was enormous, the person would also be strictly monitored, I mean who wouldn't want to find out how an expert stage cultivator would kill a soul overlord and since I was not yet strong enough to protect myself yet, I still had to keep myself under the radar.
"I can't believe she fell for that," I chuckled inwardly "yep, she must definitely be a fool."
