"Please," I said softly to Zero. "Please switch it off."
Zero paused Danté's sister's wails.
He looked nauseated, his mouth set in a grim line.
"If you want, I can just explain to you what happens next. You don't have to watch it all," Zero said softly.
I shook my head, sniffing against tears. "No. I have to watch it all. My father did all of that..."
"It doesn't mean you should torture yourself. It was your father who did it - not you." Zero turned to me. "You don't have to put yourself through this."
"I have to. It's the least I can do. And I need to see for myself what happened so that I can build a proper case."
Zero nodded in understanding and sighed. "Fine, then. But take a break for now. You can watch the rest tomorrow."
I didn't think I could handle much more than this in one day - or ever for that matter. So, I was tempted to take Zero up on his suggestion.
