Chereads / A Different Smallville / Chapter 95 - Chapter 95

Chapter 95 - Chapter 95

After hearing about Clark's issue of Lois stalking him around trying to confess her love for him. Leonardo bursted out laughing, but he also knew an issue. Since if this played out like in the show, then Clark is or will be soon infected with red kryptonite. Then he will crash Lana and Lex's engagement dinner.

'Oh, it would be such a shame to ruin that dinner.' Leonardo thought feeling half tempted to sit by and watch.

While he didn't hate Lana as much as he did at one point, he still disliked her a lot. So seeing her day or party getting ruined, well he won't shed a tear or might just laugh. After all, the two were like natural enemies and fought when meeting each other.

"So are you going to help, Kal?" Raya asked.

"I'm half tempted to leave Clark to his own thing, but odds are he will run wild on red kryptonite. While I promised myself I wouldn't interfere too much with what he wants to do, I think it is probably best I do this time." Leonardo sighed. "So at least it will be entertaining to watch at the very least."

Raya thought about it and nodded a bit, but upon hearing red kryptonite, she was slightly worried. It's not so much that she didn't trust Leonardo to solve this thing, since she arrived he was more than capable of cleaning up most messes. However, she knew red kryptonite removes a kryptonian mental inhibitor and tends to make them follow their desires or unleash their bottled up emotions.

So the thought of Leonardo being infected, well, she was a bit afraid since the situation would be terrible. While she with the help of Clark's friends might be able to trick him and get rid of the influence of red kryptonite. The same couldn't be said to be the same for Leonardo since he is very cautious. Even if they brought in Clark afterwards, Raya didn't hold her breath since while Clark was exposed to Earth's yellow sun longer, she felt Leoanrdo would come out on top eight out of ten times if the two fought.

Unlike Clark, Leonardo often fights and trains in various martial arts while enhancing his knowledge. So she didn't hold her breath, since besides taking a beating, Clark wouldn't be much help unless he got a couple blows on Leonardo and pushed him into a spot they set a trap.

Unaware of Raya wild thoughts and probably overestimating his abilities a bit. Leonardo walked out of the Fortress and headed to Smallville. The Kent farm is Clark's favorite place when he is normal or on red kryptonite.

Landing in front of the house, Leonardo looked around and found the farm empty. Yet, he found a hand drawn mix CD of various White Snakes songs with Lois and Clark's name on the front. Sighing a bit, Leonardo tuned his hearing a bit since he usually just turned it to disasters or panic. He found Clark in Metropolis running around with Lois as he seemed to jump from Daily Planet to Oliver's apartment.

Rubbing his chin, Leonardo found that a bit strange since Clark could fly, but to show off, he still jumps around. However, he didn't care too much on that front, since it seemed to be his way of showing off at the moment. Yet, it also confirmed that Clark was infected.

Soon he heard Clark talking about Lana's engagement party with Lex. Unlike the show where he went mainly to get back at Lana, this time he just wanted to crash it. As for Lana, well, Clark still had feelings for her, but not enough to divert his attention from crashing his former friend's party.

'Well, now the question is, will Clark stay true to crashing the party or drag Lana away upon arriving.' Leonardo thought as he headed to the Luthor Mansion.

Sneaking into the mansion, Leonardo waited a few moments as Clark soon arrived with Lois in tow. Then he smiled a bit as Clark strolled right into the dinner with grand fanfare. Where he basically went off on a long but also short speech as he basically vented why such a dinner happened.

"I think it's time for you to leave, Clark." Lex angrily said as he stood up.

"I will, but not before giving out my gift." Clark tosses the bald man a baby rattle. "While it probably won't be of use, but hey it's your trick to get her to marry you."

Lex enraged at the words or how hard they hit home on his plot to trick Lana. He instantly swung his fist at Clark who just sidestepped him. Right before he gave Lex a light shove and made the proud man stumble in front of others.

Then Clark, not paying much attention to Lex, picked up a glass and raised it up. "To baby Luthor, cheers. Well if there is such a thing."

"Lex, enough, he is clearly on something." Lana said loudly as Lex tried to continue his attack.

Leonardo, who was watching, walked in but it was clear to those that saw him wasn't in much of a hurry.

"Well, there was a slight accident earlier that led to an allergic reaction. So Clark inhibitors are a bit loose at the moment. So if you all can forget that this happened, though I think this episode is more entertaining than sitting at a quiet party." Leonardo said, making a few who watched nod in understanding.

"What causes the allergic reaction?" Lana sneered. "I bet it's some sort of drug he took and you are lying to cover it up."

"One of Clark's neighbors asked for help and had a small farm accident when a Luthor Corps fertilizer exploded causing this." Leonardo naturally lied about the cause and didn't care that Lana did have a point about covering some things up.

"I'm not in that industry much anymore." Lex pointed out.

"Son, don't forget that we have branches in most industries." Lionel stated calmly. "While you may ignore a few factories, they still operate."

"Now, if you excuse me, I will take my brother away until it clears his system." Leonardo said as he pushed Clark away. "Chloe, take care of your cousin."

Lex just clenched his fist as he glared daggers at the two brothers. The feeling of being used and taking a blame he didn't have a hand in this time filled him. Which just fueled his anger and he was determined he will truly get back at them.

--

"Enough Leo!" Clark roared a bit angrily. "I'm tired of you treating me as a child."

"I don't treat you as a child, Clark." Leonardo calmly said. "I treat you more like an overprotective brother or mentor at times. I'm getting better, but sometimes we need help from others no matter how powerful one is."

"Lecture after lecture, why do you always toss philosophical questions at me." Clark growled annoyed. "You always act like you're so perfect, while all I do is fail at everything."

Leonardo only shrugged as he didn't know either. It just seems to slip out at times or Clark is in need of help thinking out a problem. It probably became a habit upon arriving here back when he was still stuck in Clark's body.

"Clark, you don't fail at everything." Leonardo said softly. "I am also not perfect, I struggle, make mistakes just like you and others. No one is perfect Clark, we can only try our best and learn from our mistakes."

"Ha, you had a girlfriend for years while I could barely date for a few months before it exploded." Clark grumbled.

"Truth is, Lana is more of a highschool girlfriend who will break up with their boyfriend after highschool, not a lifeline spouse." Leonardo said. "You both don't sync well, nor really want to face problems head on. You have gotten better at it, Clark but that is because you are maturing into a fine young man. While Lana chose to turn a blind eye to certain problems."

"Now, before you interrupt, Aurora and I do have our fair bit of problems. We tend to work most of them out, but a few still exist." Leonardo softly said. "I won't go into the details, but couples do run into trouble be it big or small."

One of the issues is that Aurora didn't know about his abilities and was something he often wanted to complain about. However, in time she will learn hopefully and so for a few hours, Clark continued to grumble, until the red kryptonite wore off. In which led to the two separating when Clark felt better and seemed more cheerful then he had been in a while.
