While sitting in his apartment the next morning after a short nap, Leonardo sat on his couch in a small daze. It's not because he was looking back on his memories or felt like staring at his wall. The truth is, besides some knick knacks he picked up from the time he spent traveling around. His apartment was very empty as he didn't even have a television anymore.
Since the time his apartment was shot up, Leonardo hasn't really put anything into his apartment. Besides having a laptop more for work than anything, he didn't have much in the way of electronics. For he spent a lot of his time just traveling by himself.
'Should I get a dog?' Leonardo thought to himself.
Clark has a dog and it wasn't impossible for him to take care of it. It would make his place more active and would relive some of his loneliness. Leonardo didn't really care much about any more since loneliness will always be a part of him.
Hence, upon deciding on finding himself a companion. Leonardo felt heartache about his old dog in his own world. He missed her terribly as she was a big part of his life being his buddy from the times he got angry or frustrated during his teenage years to greeting and sending him off to work.
'It hurts to think about, but I hope she passed on by now. She was near her end.' Leonardo had to force himself from feeling down.
Lightly humming to cheer himself up, Leonardo soon shot off into the sky heading north to the Fortress. While he didn't mind just getting a normal dog, he truthfully didn't want to see it dying on him after a while. So he was checking the Fortress to see if he could implant some kryptonian genes into one. Thus it could live a long time alongside him.
Granted it also felt a bit wrong to implant genes into a dog, but it also felt more like giving them medicine for heart worms or fleas and ticks.

Arriving at the Fortress, Leonardo landed with a graceful thud as he basically face planted. For it wasn't his flying and landing skill that caused it, but the sudden pain that overwritten his body. His muscle aches, while his blood boiled as a rock glowed green brightly near the entrance.
'Kryptonite.' Leonardo grumbled.
When he looked over to the side, he saw Raya dressed in a suit, seeming to be studying these rocks. For while she didn't have the high end machines she used to on Krypton, she had a few moderate tools she could use. So she is still able to study a few minor ideas she may have.
After a few minutes, Raya seems to realize that Leonardo arrived and quickly moves the Kryptonite away. Where Leonardo soon recovered and shot her a stare which made her look away. It was a mixture of thanks and disbelief.
"I feel like I should ask, but I won't." Leonardo strolled into the fortress.
"It's nothing bad, I just wanted to study the radiation these fragments of Krypton emitted." Raya huffed. "While Krypton had some knowledge of them, it was not much since we mostly didn't leave the planet towards the end."
"I said I wouldn't ask." Leonardo continued to walk forward. "Just next time don't do it near the door."
"So what brings you here today?" Raya asked as she followed him.
She quickly locked away her experiment and stripped out of her suit. Where she appeared in a black or more dark gray body suit according to her and the knowledge left by Jor-El. It was the most common outfit among Krytonians for daily wear. Well, until they threw something over it since it was basically like an undershirt and the like. Since after all Krypton was a very harsh and cold planet so even with advanced technology, wearing a few layers of clothes isn't impossible.
It just, Raya seems to have taken some of Earth's fashion and modified the outfit a bit. The outfit she was wearing now resembled something similar to a one piece swimsuit. So her slender and basically flawless arms and nice legs were fully displayed. Which made Leonardo raise an eyebrow at this, but didn't really care. If this is what Raya wants to wear, so be it, for it isn't hard to create a new set if she wants a different style. However, if Clark saw it, he probably stammered and may say a few words.
"I am planning to add a few kryptonian dog genes into a dog for myself." Leonardo straight out stated. "I don't plan to add much or change too much, just make it smarter, stronger and live longer."
"Why?" Raya seemed confused.
"Because I don't want to see my dog die after a few years." Leonardo said as if it was obvious.
"Isn't it just a dog? Can't you just get another one after it passes on?" Raya asked.
Leonardo gave her a flat stare while turning around and walking forward. While it may seem a bit hypocritical to say it, since odds are, Jonathan could still be alive if they did something similar. However, neither of them put such thoughts of this into action since it would be a bit selfish and odds are Jonathan would reject it.
Yet, what he plans is a bit selfish on his part, but he wants to be a bit selfish when it comes to his dog. Since it will be his best friend and live with him taking away his loneliness of his house. Aurora is too busy and it wouldn't make sense for her to fly across the country for work everyday.
"So, what's up with your outfit?" Leonardo changed the subject. "Last time I saw it, it was similar to skinny pants and a shirt. Now it looks like a swimsuit."
"I felt like trying something else." Raya puffed her chest out like it was an obvious answer.
"It was two days ago."
"Well, it will probably change again soon. It tends to give me a wedgie at times." Raya said as she pulled at the bottom as if to demonstrate.
'I think that's only one issue.' Leonardo thought.
Due to the sun on her, her body which was already fairly beautiful went up a few levels. Which naturally included her already nice looking bodily assets optimizing themselves to basically the perfect ratios. Something Leonardo seems to comment to himself everytime he sees her. Not to mention he had trouble at times not looking at a pair of parts below her face. Since he was sure she was doing it on purpose at times wearing such things when he stops by.
Then he paused in his thinking at that thought, since Kara was similar to. For she chose to wear a swimsuit while preparing herself for a beauty pageant held in Smallville. So maybe it's not on purpose.
Choosing not to dive into much more since it probably just be his fantasy, Leonardo continued on his quest. If Raya wanted to prance around in such an outfit, so be it. He will just treat it as candy for the eyes.

After a few, Leonardo soon held a small crystal vial in his hand. Inside was a medication that would alter the dog's DNA a bit. So it would basically become a dog that was a few times the descendant of a kryptonian one. It would be a bit faster, stronger and longer lived compared to Earth dogs, but not like a full or even half kryptonian one. It would probably be closer to be between a quarter or a sixteenth kryptonian. For while planning it out and using his knowledge and the fortress to help run a few tests. If he attempts to change the DNA any more than that, most likely the dog DNA will collapse and it will die.
'Since I don't feel like going into the dog breeding business to get a full blooded kryptonian dog. I will have to make do with my dog having a lifespan of one hundred and fifty to two hundred years.' Leonardo sighed at this.
While he probably will figure something else out later probably after the dog adjusted to the current one. It would have to do for now, since he needed to go out and pick up the dog he found. Which was a blue heeler though wasn't a purebred dog, it was mostly one.
"Well, I'm leaving." Leonardo said.
"Done already?" Raya looked up from a fashion magazine.
"Is there something else that requires my attention here?" Leonardo asked.
"Not here, but Kal called asking for help. Something about Lois acting strange."
