The drive to the Dark Moon Pack was made after we had lunch. Mark drove the Bently with Rick on the passenger seat, while Damon and I sat at the back. Rick was assigned to come with us and will be my guard instead of a warrior.
I looked out the window as we drove off. Seeing the Queen Luna still standing, smiling and waving, looking at us as the car moved out of the pack grounds.
She has come to see me when I was preparing for the trip. She has consulted with the pack witch after we had our lunch about some herbs that can be used to strengthen the pack physically and if possible, mentally and emotionally, and Stella mentioned that I would need someone to guide me as my powers got stronger and more prominent.
At that time, the Queen Luna had me seated in front of the vanity and was combing my short hair. She had with her a makeup set that she placed on top of the vanity table. I was excited for my first beauty lesson, and I thought it was really sweet of the Queen Luna to take time out of her busy schedule to teach me.
After my shower, she had me first use a mild facial cleanser. She gently explained why cleansers are used and how I should use it together with a moisturizer. She explained everything from the makeup primer, foundation, concealer, setting powder and blush. But what she wanted us to focus on was my eyes. She wanted me to perfect the use of the eyeliner and eye shadow as she said my eyes were my most unique and strong physical asset.
After applying only light make up and eyeliner, I was ready to go. I smiled at the Queen Luna through the mirror, and she smiled back at me gently, hugging me from behind.
"I would like us to talk about something sweetie." She says as she pulls me from the chair and leads me to the bed. She seats beside me, facing me and held my hand.
"I know you have not known us long enough to trust us and feel truly comfortable with us, but I want you to know that since I saw you, I have considered you as my daughter, not just my son's mate, but the daughter I always wanted to have. I want you to feel completely comfortable enough with me that you can come to me whenever you need anything, you need someone to talk to, or you need someone to help you kick my son's ass." I smiled at her last words. And she took it as an encouragement. She took me in a motherly hug, and I inhaled her scent.
This was the only mother figure who voluntarily wanted to treat me as a daughter. The first ever mother figure to do things a mother should be doing for her daughter. I never had this, even when Candy moved into my stepfather's life. I was just her boyfriend's stepdaughter whom she didn't have to act loving to as even her boyfriend ignored or abused me.
"Thank you, Queen Luna." I said sincerely. Truly touched that she is making an effort in making me feel like a family. We stayed that way for a few minutes. Reveling in our budding mother-daughter relationship.
Then she moves out of my embrace but still holds my arms to look me in the eye. "Stella said you need to have a mentor to guide you before the use of your power drains you. When you come back from Dark Moon Pack, we will go to Sarga's house. She's the oldest pack witch and she's the one who trained Stella and her mother before her. She might be able to help you discern the extent of your power and she can help you control your power. Your power should not control you sweetie."
I nodded in agreement. All I seem to do when I got here was use my powers, sleep, use my powers and sleep again. And it was tiring me physically, mentally and I think, even spiritually.
Damon, Mark and Ricky were all seating at the sofa when the Queen Luna and I went down the stairs, but they stood up when they saw us. Queen Luna's hand was around my waist, and we were both laughing about a story of Damon when he was a child.
I saw them all stand up in shock... and awe? Mark's and Rick's mouth almost dropping while Damon looked at me with pride which made me blush and I let my eyes wonder, pretending not to notice their reaction with my transformed appearance. The Queen Luna must have done a really spectacular job at transforming my face or transforming me physically as she made me wear a pair of the clothes, she bought for me. The mid-thigh shorts and the purple tank top I had on with the fashion scarf she had around my neck.
Everyone was quiet as we got out of the pack territory. I looked out the window, relaxing my mind with the passing scenery of trees, tall grasses and again, trees. Unconsciously, my mind wondered to what I had to do in the school I attended for two weeks, and I sighed, dreading the idea of transferring back to the "Hell" school as I come to term it.
Damon heard my sigh and looked at me. He was previously scanning his phone, but he put it away and hooked his arm by my waist. "Something wrong babe?"
I looked at him, not really in the mood to talk about what was going on in my mind. I shrugged and leaned into him, "Nothing in particular." I said.
He me pulled me closer to him, kissing my head and thankfully, he let it be. I turned back my gaze to the passing scenery; we have not yet reached the town where humans also live and all I can still see are trees and grasses and stones. Somehow, darkness envelopes me yet again as if I can't get enough of it.
I was woken up by Damon, slightly shaking me. "Babe, we're here."
I wake up and see that we are parked in front of the gate of the school I attended for two weeks. I didn't actually need to show up here as Kaylee's father already contacted for me the school admin regarding my transfer back to my old school. I just had to clear out my locker and take my things and at least say goodbye to my classmates I have gotten close to at the short time that I was here.
Rick has already opened the door on my side, and I stepped out, immediately walking to the front, avoiding being seen coming out of the Bentley. Though confused of my action, Rick followed me, and Damon came to walk beside me.
"Um... I think it's okay if Damon would just be the one to come with me. I don't want my friends to ask a lot of questions about why I had to have two men with me when I only had to get a few books."
Damon and Rick looked at each other then Damon nodded. "Okay, Rick can stay here."
We walked inside the gate and was immediately seen by Cassie, Sharon and Becky who were already dismissed for the day. They shrieked and ran to me, hugging me immediately and tightly.
"Where have you been?"
"What happened to you?"
"Are you alright?"
"Oh my God, you look amazing!"
"Did you go on a vacation?"
The three ladies all talked at ones, and I let them smilingly, enjoying their attention as I knew this could be the last time, I would be with them. Damon was standing slightly behind me but was still near enough that the three ladies knew he was with me.
"I got sick." I started, and before they could say anything else, I continued. "But I'm okay now. I just missed you guys." I said. Hugging them again as they did not yet move out of the group hug, they created.
They looked at Damon surreptitiously, silently asking me who he was. And I took pity on them.
"Girls, this is Damon, my... boyfriend." I held Damon's forearm and pull him closer. "Babe, these are my friends, Cassie, Sharon and Becky." Damon looked at me in surprise and I almost smiled at him. I knew that look was because I called him babe and in front of my friends.
"Ooohhhh! Sanjo's going to be sad!" Cassie exclaimed, holding her heart and I laughed. She always joked that Sanjo was always overprotective of me ever since I started going to school here. He was our class president and one of the popular guys of the school but made time to welcome me in the school. Taking time to know if I needed anything and if I was adjusting okay. He was like the brother I always unconsciously wanted.
"No, he won't. He'll be thankful I am one less responsibility to think of." I said jokingly but was shocked when somebody answered behind me.
"You were never just a responsibility Lu-ann." I shrieked and turned around, hugging Sanjo just like the way I hugged my three female friends.
