"I need to catch him alive!"
The words flew out of my mouth before I even realized they were there. I wasn't going to let Clyde die because of my stupidity. And I certainly wouldn't let him hunt me like some animal.
I glanced around quickly, searching for a good hiding spot as more gunshots echoed in the distance.
"I'm going to find him, but I need you to distract him, Clyde."
"You want me to do that?" Clyde gasped as he nodded. "Are you crazy, my lord?"
"I've been crazier than you could ever imagine." I snarled as I turned and headed for the edge of the forest.
"Don't worry," I reassured Clyde. "I will come back to you. It's time to distract that fucker!"
"My lord, what if someone sees us?" He panicked, fearing what the authorities might think of their situation and their involvement in it.
"Then they'll have a story to tell their grandchildren. Now hurry up!"
