I nodded. "Yes."
He stared at me for another moment before saying, "Then I guess you'll have to tell them soon enough. Is it my son or someone else?"
"Someone else, sir."
'Why and how would it be, Jonas? I barely knew the guy for up to a month; you're my link to your son; I'm merely doing this out of duty to you.'
"And who is he?"
"No one important." I lied.
I couldn't bring Tristan into this conversation, not while I wasn't sure of what side Jonas and his father were on.
There was clearly no need to give such information to him anyway.
Cadwell frowned. "You're not married."
He just had to state the obvious.
Sigh!
I bit down on my bottom lip, wishing to swallow my intended words as I forced a smile right after.
"I would rather finish what I came to this city for before I think about settling down with anyone."
