Thud!
The man fell to the floor and coughed violently as Tristan let out a deep sigh.
Gaston grabbed his neck in pain and stumbled to the wall, where he leaned against it, gasping for air as he continued to cough.
"I'm sorry," he gasped between breaths. "It's just that... I can't believe it. I can't believe you actually remembered something that happened so long ago."
'Even I don't believe it either,' I thought. 'I mean, I barely remember anything.'
"Are you alright?" I asked, moving closer to him.
"Yeah, I'll be fine." He gave me a weak smile. "Just give me a moment."
After he caught his breath, he looked at me and said, "Thank you for saving me."
"No problem."
We both stood there, staring at each other. It wasn't a bad stare; it was more of a thoughtful one.
