Chereads / MATED TO THE DARK LORD [BL] / Chapter 2 - THE PLAIN ROOM

Chapter 2 - THE PLAIN ROOM

Looking around, Yuri bit on his lip harshly to keep a sob from escaping his lips. During the past week, his parents would always bring him here every morning and they will take a stroll till they reached a main road, it was the same main road everytime. He found it a bit odd when his parents who would not even allow him to step out of the manor without their most trusted guards, would bring him to such a place, but he shrugged it off, he thought his parents were trying to give him a little bit freedom, since he was already eighteen.

He should have known that his parents had a motive behind the act, since they usually acted weird during the first days they began the strolling act, but he shrugged it off, again.

He was not observant enough.

From a very young age, the young master of the household has always been know for how mature his brain tends to work. He easily catches on lies or deceit, but he let his guard down this time. He trusted his parents, he did not try to detect anything, he just skipped happily each time they went for the stroll, not knowing that his parents had wanted him to be conversant with the forest path Incase an emergency like this ever happens.

He never noticed the hole during any of their strolls, though. He froze when he saw a circular shaped metal lid that would perfectly fit the hole laying aimlessly beside the hole. Yuri hurriedly pushed the lid over the opened earth and used his little hands to scatter dried leaves over the lid to make the area blend with the forest grounds. It was like they knew that the attack would happen today.

The hole was not placed at a clearing, instead it was placed randomly; very close to one of the forest's trees.

His parents probably had it covered the whole time, that was why he did not discover it.

He doesn't blame his parents for their actions, he knew they would do anything to keep him safe, he blames himself.

Crawling towards the nearest tree, Yuri stood up with the help of the tree, leaning most of his weight on the huge nature. Reaching for his inhaler once again from his hoodie's pocket, he puffed, held his breath, then released. When he felt that his heartbeat was steady enough, he gently pushed himself off the tree and started limping down the familiar path he and his parents strolled along for the past week, his parents' words chanting in his head as he limped ahead.

Survive....

Flor ... Survive..

Flor .....

"Flor!" A feminine voice called out.

"Mama!" A child's enthusiastic voice called back.

"I missed you." The feminine voice said with a chuckle.

"Yuri missed mama too." The child's pouty voice was heared.

"Is that so?" The feminine voice queried in a playful voice. After a short silence, the woman spoke up again.

"But I only stepped out to go pluck these beautiful flowers for my dear Yuri." The woman voice was laced with amusement.

"Wow! So pretty mama!" The child voice rang out loud.

"Do you like it?" The woman asked.

"Yuri loves it!" The child cherry voice rang out, clearly enthusiastic about the gift.

"I'm gla-"

The voices started becoming distant, till it fully ceased, again.

"Oh my!" Yuri woke up with a gasp.

He raised his arm to wipe off the of sweat that has accumulated on his forehead with his sleeve. Looking around, Yuri paniced at the sight of the unfamiliar environment, but calmed down when he remembered the series of events that took place few hours prior.

The cries of his parents, the helpless expressions on their faces, their anguish was worn on their face like dark masks.

He remembered when he got to the main road, out of the forest, he found a truck instead of a car, but he was rest assured when he saw the plate number of the truck; it matched with the one his parents told him. When he got into the truck, he was surprised to find his favorite plushie seated on the passenger's side of the truck, well, let's say he had another bawling incident. He found neatly stacked documents that contained contract of the apartment, his new birth certificate, an acceptance letter from a university he didn't remember applying to and papers to a newly opened bank account, once again opened in his name. On the same passenger seat was a rectangular box that homed a brand new phone. He was relieved when he saw a first aid sitting comfortably on the back seat of the truck. He hurriedly treated his wound like he had done countless times to his father's guards in the past, and changed to the pair of shorts he found in a plastic bag alongside a neat hoodie on the back seat. His parents has really been planning this for a long time.

Now, Yuri was in his parked truck in the parking lot of his apartment's building. He was shocked to find out that the address was already inputted in the GPS of the truck when he got in the truck hours ago. He fell asleep in the truck after having another bawling episode.

Sighing deeply, Yuri stepped out of the truck, tucking it's key into his hoodie's pocket. He limped towards the other side of the vehicle to get the only things his parents left him.

Getting off the elevator, he made a beeline to his apartment door. Seeing the number 119, Yuri couldn't help but release a sigh of relief. He fumbled with the key and hastily made his way into the apartment. Locking the door immediately he got in, Yuri switch on the light, but froze with what welcomed his sight.

Plain.

Everything was plain, the whole apartment was painted white but nothing else was present there, just a single black travelling box laying idly in the center of the large room.
