Chapter 156 - Princeton Royal College

The Imperial Academy was also known as Princeton Academy. Locke slowly walked into the campus with a letter of introduction written by Angelina and signed by the Faustian king.

"Hello, how may I help you?" asked a lady who seemed to be a staff member of the academy.

She was wearing a green uniform and had a card pinned to her chest. Unfortunately, Locke didn't know much about Aomarian, so he couldn't recognise her name.

"Yes, I'm going to Perseverance Academy," Locke stuttered in Aomarian, which he wasn't familiar with.

The lady was surprised at first, but her smile soon turned into a flattering one. "Come, I'll take you there."

Locke was a low-rank Knecht, so he let an ordinary woman hold his hand just like that. Along the way, Locke felt the woman in front of him rub against his palm.

She was only average-looking, but perhaps it was because she was wearing a uniform and was an Aomarian, so Locke didn't mind her rudeness.

Princeton Academy was huge and covered an area close to a town. There were parks and grasslands in the academy, and it was said that there was even a horse farm for knights to train their riding skills. The academy had six faculties, two for casters and four for knights. Perseverance, which Locke was going to, was ranked second out of the four.

This was all the information the woman told him along the way. Another thing she told him was that her name was Lucy.

Locke couldn't get used to Lucy's attentiveness. What he didn't know was that those who could study in Princeton Academy were all wealthy and respectable people. Lucy initially thought that Locke had entered the academy by mistake, but he turned out to be a rich husband.

Lucy was just the daughter of an ordinary businessman in Princeton. Because one of her father's customers was in charge of purchasing at Princeton, Lucy was hired as an ordinary logistical staff member.

However, being an ordinary staff member in Princeton Academy was envied by everyone in the imperial capital.

All the girls in the imperial capital dreamed of being a princess, hoping that a prince on a white horse would take them away so that they could live a rich and happy life.

Although Locke wasn't considered handsome, he had good qualities. Due to years of war, Locke had a strong body and a good height. In Lucy's opinion, he was already a tall, rich, and handsome man.

He didn't want to be Angelina's study partner at first because he hated reading and studying. Fortunately, from Lucy's words, he knew that there were only a few cultural classes in the knight's training course. Most of it was practical combat, which reassured him.

After bringing Locke to the place, Lucy bid farewell to him reluctantly. A servant like her had no right to stay in the academy for long. "189 Endon Street." Lucy told him her house number as she left.

As for whether Locke remembered it or not, only God knew.

After shaking off the enthusiastic Aomarian, he held his recommendation letter and walked into a large five-storey teaching building.

Ignoring the curious gazes of the other people in the teaching building, Locke calmly stood in front of the office marked with the admission counter.

He gently knocked on the door. "Come in!" A loud middle-aged man's voice came from inside.

He pushed the door open and entered. The office was about two hundred square metres in size. There were more than ten wooden tables scattered around, and behind each table sat a busy staff member.

Locke walked straight to a middle-aged man with a beer belly. The reason why he was so sure was because this middle-aged man was the only one who wasn't working. Instead, he looked at Locke curiously.

"Hello, I'm a new student," said Locke respectfully. As he walked closer, he realised that this ordinary-looking middle-aged man was actually a Ritter.

Perhaps his weight was proportional to his strength. In short, he felt that this middle-aged man was stronger than Xfie. Of course, he was slightly weaker than the Black Knight called Garen.

The middle-aged man curiously took the recommendation letter and the visa that represented Locke's identity. He opened them, glanced at them, and then closed them.

"You didn't bring any magic items to hide your strength, did you?" asked the middle-aged man.

"No, Sir," replied Locke.

"Low-rank Knecht?"

"Yes."

"Take this and report to Year 2 Class 3!" The middle-aged man slapped a school badge on the table and then sent Locke off.

After Locke left, several staff members in the admission office started to deal with Locke's admission. They had been busy with this for the past few days. A few of them started to chat. "Huh? A Faustian. "

"Faustian only gets one recommendation every three years. Why did they give it to such an ordinary-looking kid?"

"Who knows? Maybe he's the illegitimate son of the king?"

"Well, that makes sense."

.....

Under the guidance of the staff in the teaching building, Locke finally found his classroom at the corner of the fourth floor.

This was a huge lecture hall. Thirty people sat scattered in it, and a curly-haired man stood on the podium. He should be their teacher.

Before Locke could introduce himself, the curly-haired man scolded, "You're late! Go find a seat! "

Locke walked to a seat on the left of the middle row in front of the classroom.

"Hello, I'm Henry!" said a freckled kid. His seat was only one seat away from Locke's.

"Hello, I'm Locke." The first person that came to Locke's mind when he heard his name was Henry, the steward of the baron's transport team.

The whole morning ended with the curly-haired man chattering on the podium. Most of what he talked about was school rules and discipline. Because the man spoke too fast, Locke could barely understand the gist of it.

Fortunately, Henry was a local and a talkative guy. He summed up what the curly-haired man had been talking about the whole morning in a few sentences.

During school, they were not allowed to fight at will. If they wanted to fight, they would have to apply for a duel and at least two tutors had to be a witness. They had to earn 120 credits in a year, otherwise, they would be expelled. They were not allowed to damage the school's public property or harass the teachers.

"If you can't remember it, you can go to the entrance of the academy." Henry squeezed a smile.

Locke had an impression of the entrance of Princeton Academy. When he and Angelina first entered, they were dazzled by the words that took up half the wall. Are those the school rules? Locke felt a headache coming on.

At noon, he followed the crowd to the cafeteria for lunch. The cafeteria of Perseverance was a three-storey building. Students could eat on any floor they wanted.

Locke and Henry chose the lowest floor. "I can't afford the top floor!" was Henry's reply.

From his conversation with Henry, Locke found out that he was the direct descendant of an Aomar viscount. He was sent here by his family to study and was also a lord himself.

When Henry found out that Locke was from Faustian, his interest was piqued. He had never been abroad before.

Locke was only a noble at the moment and didn't have a specific title. However, Henry didn't treat him coldly. This made Locke feel that he was someone worth befriending.

There was nothing much to do in the afternoon. After strolling around the campus, Locke walked to the entrance of Princeton Academy and waited for Angelina, who was coming out of the caster faculty.

Unlike Locke, who only knew Henry for the whole day, Angelina was obviously more popular. She was surrounded by a group of girls and attracted the attention of a group of male students outside the academy.

"Who's this?" asked a woman with long, wavy red hair and a seductive figure.

"My fiancé!" Angelina smiled as she walked forward and kissed Locke on the cheek, leaving a group of girls staring at her in shock.

After saying goodbye to their acquaintances, Angelina and Locke got into the carriage. The coachman was the captain of the shadow guards, a high-rank Knecht. The coachman waved the whip and the carriage slowly moved towards Sancher Street.

They were only three streets away from each other, but they had to take a carriage to and from school. Locke didn't understand.

"This is a symbol of status," said Angelina.

It wasn't just them. Almost every student that walked out of the Princeton Academy would have a carriage appear on the road outside.

Locke even guessed why the road outside Princeton Academy was wider than other roads. It was thirty metres wide because it was for these people to park their carriages.
