Turning the key and open the door handle, he looked outside. A person immediately jumoed on Jun's body, almost making him unbalanced and fall. "What the-" "Jun! Where have you been? Why didn't you tell me? It's been 2 days you know! Why didn't you pick up my calls?"
The amount of questions kept increasing, but it was who he had been expecting. His close friend Himura Riku.
Jun smiled hesitantly and didn't answer any questions about his previous well beings. Oddly enough, Riku had just now noticed the change in hair style. Touching the strands of hair, "When did you cut your hair?" Jun froze up.
"W-WELL I DECIDED THAT IT WAS TIME FOR A CHANGE!" He hurriedly answered, stuttering.
"And why were you gone?"
"I w-was taking a little breather.. And got lost?"
"For days? Then why can't I contact you?"
"My phone... Was in maintenance..."
An obvious hesitating expression was clear on Jun's face. Clearly he was trying to hide something from him. Though Riku was still in relief that nothing bad happened to Jun, at least that's what he thought. Riku sighed and calmed down, suddenly getting a phone call.
Grabbing the smartphone from his pocket, he excused himself for a second, making Jun step back a bit.
"Hah really? I've only been gone for a day or two and this happens? You really can't do anything without me." Riku complained as he talks to whoever was on the phone. He seemed quite pissed.
His tongue clicked as he closes the phone. "Are you going already?" Jun asked. Riku's face was disappointed, thinking that he could at least spend some time before leaving for something. "Yeah sorry, but something came up and I gotta leave urgently for it apparently. See ya any other time?" Riku waved as he leaves.
Embarrassed to admit, Jun actually didn't want Riku to go that fast. Yet he could only greet him goodbye. If it was urgent, who is he to just stop him?
He closed the door and went to sit on the sofa, laying his body as his thoughts became empty. It was so boring that maybe doing something he doesn't like would be much better. What could he do for the time being? Go do more assignments? "Yeah no I'm not doing that." It's not like there was his parents to force him.
As much as he hates to admit it, maybe being in the 'other's world wouldn't be too bad. There's things such as commissions or the area itself could keep him busy. Besides, he still had a decent amount of otherworldly money that he had made. Maybe it wouldn't be too bad living there.
But something in him just doesn't feel like it was also the correct choice to go back. He wanted to escape it so bad previously and now he just wants to go immediately. He slapped his face.
"Overthinking isn't me at all!" He shakes his head and stood up quickly. He took his bag and got everything he needed to go out for a stroll.
"Maybe a little walk around the place would keep me busy." He thought as he took the keys and left.
.
Jun just kept walking all around the town, not thinking of where he actually wanted to go. The more he thought about it, the eager he became.
"I want to learn more I want to learn more I want to learn more." The same sentence have been repeating countless times in his head. He didn't look like a stressed mad man and be stared at people, he tried to keep a constant calm look.
All he wanted was to go back to the other world and ask Yhue to teach him how to fight with a spear, as it was the only thing in his head.
Bored to the bones, he had only just now noticed that he had already take a loop around the town square around 12 times in the span of two hours. Not actually going in circles, of course he'd stop for a rest or for something that may have caught his attention.
Noticing that he also managed to unconsciously buy a series of items that he's currently holding. Was this some kind of odd superpower to have or did someone or something controlled his body. Seeing inside the paper bags, he didn't seem to regret buying it though. He took out the phone from his pocket to check the time and it was already 6:38 pm.
Is it perhaps already a good time to go to the other world? Jun became more excited than before and went back to the apartment to drop his things.
Before that, a person behind him managed to get his attention and hand him a paper pamphlet.
