Chapter 12: Lux
That was totally insane. Lux was utterly captivated by her presence. Heart was so affectionate. He couldn't tell if she was just trying to impress him or if she was genuinely caring. Earlier, she had been serving everyone, even though it wasn't her job. Her actions displayed a remarkable level of maturity, as if she were highly skilled in taking care of the people around her.
After all, he had overheard her reprimanding her sibling over the phone earlier. He had heard her words and seen her pain. Despite wanting to judge her for entering such a dirty profession, he couldn't. Her reasons were entirely justifiable. He himself had witnessed the burdens she carried, not to mention the concerns she had for her siblings. Perhaps those were the problems left behind in whatever province she came from.
