Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

She felt it from a mile away and when the punch came, she quickly sidestepped him and stuck out her foot. The boy tripped and fell on his face. "Boss!" shouted the boy's friends, "Jack!"

Enyo knelt in front of Jack. "I don't really like your attitude," she said sarcastically, "please try to be nicer… Jack. I'm Enyo."

Jack growled, "I won't let you get away with this!"

She smiled, "See you later!" Then she walked away.

The counselor's office turned out to be really easy to find. The door was covered in banners and bright rainbow stickers that said, Welcome! Or Reach for the Stars! And other inspiring quotes.

Enyo knocked on the door, "Excuse me? My name is Enyo, I'm new here today?"

The door swung open, almost hitting her in the face. She stepped back. "Oh! Sorry about that," a face popped out the doorway, "Hi Enyo, I'm Ms Alvin! Come on in!"

Enyo walked into the office. It wasn't much different from the door. The inside was well light and large bean bags littered the floor. A few other students sat on the bean bags, scrolling on their phones or reading books.

Ms Alvin noticed Enyo look over at the corner, "That's our Wellness Corner. Students can come during free periods and lunch breaks to chill, hang out, and study! We give free snacks too."

Enyo nodded. Ms Alvin handed her a piece of paper. "Here's your schedule and your teachers. All your classes have the same students. Those in your homeroom will be in the same classes as you. Homeroom will start in five minutes."

Enyo nodded, "Thanks."

She walked out the door and looked at her schedule.

0. Homeroom Sophmore class 3, Room 112, Hosado

1. English 2, Room 238, Moses

2. Chemistry Honors, Room S03, Plastine

3. World History, Room 246, Youlin

4. PE, Gym, Soro

5. AP Math 3, S04, Crane

6. Health, 235, Somoyoa

Enyo looked at the doors around her. It appeared that the doors were labeled by floor, and then ordered. She saw that she was by room 123. To her right was 124 and her left of 122. She went left until she reached room 112.

Enyo took a deep breath. There was no turning back. The moment she stepped into her classroom, she would leave her old life behind and begin anew. She opened the door and walked in.

"Stand!" the class rose. "Bow!" everyone bowed. "Greet!" the class called out, "Good Morning Ms Hosado!"

Ms Hosado nodded and the class sat down. Enyo stood awkwardly in the front with Ms Hosado. "Class," said the teacher, "This is Enyo, she's a transfer. She'll be in your class as of today. Enyo, please introduce yourself."

"Hello," Enyo bowed to the class, "I am Enyo. My family moved here. Please take care of me."

Ms Hosado nodded and motioned to where the class sat. "You can sit in any empty seat."

Enyo nodded and scanned the classroom. The tables were put together in pairs so that two people sat next to each other. She looked again, looking for a familiar or kind face… Max! He was in her class too!

Enyo sat down next to him. He ignored her and started at his desk. The moment she sat down, people started flocking around her, boys and girls. "Your eyes!" someone commented, "They're red!"

That was met with large reactions. "Oh my god! They're gorgeous!!!" screamed the girls, the boys blushed.

Suddenly everyone moved away from her desk. A blonde girl walked up to her. "Come on, Enyo!" she said, "You don't want to sit next to the loser," she said, "Come sit with us!"

The blonde girl held out her hand, "I'm Valerie, but most people call me Val, come sit with us!" she pointed to an empty seat.

Enyo could tell this girl was a bully. "It's okay," she said, "I'd rather sit with Max."

A vein bulged in Valerie's forehead, "You'll regret that…"

Enyo shrugged, "I won't regret not sitting next to you."

SLAM! Valerie slammed her hand on Enyo's desk. "Mark my words…"

"Sit down! All of you!" Ms Hosado called, "Class is starting… first off…"

The words were lost in Enyo's daydreams.
