Chapter 35 - Chapter 35 – Crimson Star Library (3)

"My lady, may I ask why you granted him permission into the Crimson Star Library?" Rhis asked as three women walked through one of the hallways.

The chieftain kept silent and continued to walk in front of them, with several sisters greeting and bowing to them as they walked past.

Rhis sighed, seeing that no answers were coming to her and kept quiet about the matter. She and Yana escorted the chieftain until she got to her chambers and continued her journey alone.

Turning around to close her door, she looked at Yana and Rhis, "Goodbye, Rhis. Yana," she said.

The two bowed at the same time and walked away.

King Elda shut her door and walked to her bed, lying on it and letting out an exhale. She glanced to the ceiling and pondered on Aaron's request.

After listening to Rhis and Yana complain about her decision on the matter, she wasn't sure anymore if she truly made the right choice by allowing Aaron entry into the library, considering that Aaron was not a member of her family nor was he one of her subjects.

Elda sighed again and shook her head, smacking her forehead. "Elda... what are you doing?"

Aaron and Elsa were escorted by three sisters towards the western wing of the castle where the library was located.

As they reached their destination, they met four female guards at the entrance of the library.

"Hmm," Aaron muttered before thinking something to himself. "She doesn't trust her male slaves enough to station them here."

He glanced up at the tall structure that was the Crimson Star Library and around it. "This place must be really important then."

"Here you are," one of the three sisters that escorted them said, gesturing for Aaron to continue forward.

Aaron thanked his escorts and stole glances at the partly clad guards in front of the entrance as he began to proceed forward with Elsa.

Before they could enter, two of the female guards stepped forward and blocked their paths with their spears crossing in front of the visitors.

Aaron looked at both of them but they maintained straight faces and forward gazes, only looking at Elsa after some seconds passed.

"Just him, you are not allowed into the library," one of them said to Elsa.

Elsa's face saddened with disappointment and her eyes nearly watered with tears. She could have pleaded but even she knew that it would be fruitless.

Aaron turned to her and patted her shoulder, smiling at her. "Don't worry, I'll be fine. It's just one day."

"But what will you be doing for an entire day, master? What will you eat?"

Elsa was genuinely concerned for the welfare of her master and that was why she really wanted to go in with him.

Aaron laughed. "Just one day without food won't kill me, you know."

It took a few minutes to get Elsa to calm down and stay back at the castle while Aaron entered the library alone.

He moved into the library, the other two guards walking with him while the first two still stood and blocked Elsa from manoeuvring her way past them.

Elsa watched and waved, hoping that Aaron would turn and wave back but he never turned back the minute he reached close to the door of the Crimson Star Library.

He had gotten a chance to solve one of his problems in this new life and he wasn't going to let the opportunity pass him by.

The Crimson Star Library.

As much as it was a world filled with books, it was also a heirloom. A heritage of the chieftain's family — the Vonmoth family.

The Vonmoth family were more or less the custodians of the history of the Crimson Melon town as well as the long-age rulers of the territory.

There was no better place to learn about the Crimson Melon town as well as the possible places beyond it than the Crimson Star Library.

Etched upon its door was the six-pointed crimson star, the sigil of the Vonmoth family.

Aaron was taken inside the library and as he walked through the paths between the shelves that reached about four to five metres high, he could only stare with admiration.

Each shelf was divided into compartments and had about three ladders attached to them, and to each other, for easy access to books.

"We'll come and fetch you by this same time tomorrow," one of the escorts said before they left him to wander on his own inside the library.

As he walked around the many racks of books within this scholarly magnificent place, Aaron couldn't help but wonder where to start and how fast he could get the valuable information he so desired.

He stopped at a particular rack, looked up and sighed.

"I can only make about three of them at the moment," he muttered to himself as he took out a book from the shelf.

Aaron sighed and closed his eyes. His body began to shake like something wanted to come out of him. He shook for several seconds as three different forms tried to exit his body at the same time.

This continued until the three forms finally appeared around him, causing him to gasp for air from moderate exhaustion. "Fuck, this body surely is killing me. Otherwise, three replicas shouldn't be this hard."

A few minutes passed before Aaron regained his calm and composure. He then looked around at the doppelgangers that he had created and nodded in approval.

The technique may have been a tad hectic but it was flawless. An outsider couldn't tell the difference between him and his three clones.

"Now, let's go reading," he said as the four of them took different paths within the library, ready to venture into the world of ink and letters.

The real Aaron brushed his fingers across the edges of different books as he walked his path while also taking a glance at the titles of them to see if any suited what he wanted but after several minutes, neither of them had seen one.

He anticipated such difficulty the moment he stepped his feet into the Crimson Star Library, given how massive the place was. Searching for general books would have been much easier, but Aaron needed a specific set of books and those were going to take time to find.

Half an hour passed and an hour after that.

They had made no progress getting to two and a half hours later.

Then something clicked inside the real Aaron's head — a pulse of information entered his brain. He suddenly knew something that he didn't actively read himself.

Aaron realised what this meant, and smiled. After close to three hours, one of the clones had found something worthwhile.
