Evangeline had dismissed staff from the kitchen. She had cooked enough in her life to prepare some snacks for Damien. She did not need anyone's help in it. He had done so much for her, it was her chance to show her gratitude.
So, when she heard the steps behind her, she paused but did not turn back.
"Cornelia, I have already told you that I can handle this much. You do not need to worry I will not blow your kitchen." Evangeline chuckled imagining the look on the face of the woman when she had entered the kitchen without sending notice first.
"I am sure Cornelia would have no right to complain even if you burn the kitchen." Evan paused and her eyes widened. She turned and gasped looking at Damien. He was standing in his crisp white shirt and perfectly made hair. She noticed he had changed his cravat and his fingers had ink marks.
