Chapter 11 - Gone For The Week

The following day, the Queen resumed her daily duties. She was shocked on hearing the things that happened the previous day.

"Why didn't you come to look for me when all these were happening? I'm so disappointed in you all." She said sadly as they all sat down for breakfast.

"It's not their fault, Your Majesty. I insisted that you shouldn't be disturbed. You needed rest." Liam took all the blame.

"Will you stop addressing me as 'Your Majesty?' I am your mother for Christ sake." The Queen yelled out angrily.

She felt wronged in so many ways. This had to do with her son and there was a possibility that he would have been jailed and subjected to hard labour if Liam did not act out in wisdom, but still she would have preferred being there for Kyle.

She hated herself so much for breaking down in front of her children, otherwise they wouldn't have isolated her in her chambers all day.

Liam and his siblings had their heads bowed showing a sense of guilt. Tiny sobs was heard in the room and they all turned to see Sati crying.

The Queen felt bad for screaming out in the presence of her little angel.

"Come here Sati. Mommy's sorry for yelling." She said as she walked to Satia's seat, cuddling her.

"Big brother Liam was only making sure you had enough rest. He handled everything very well, why are you getting angry at him?" Sati cried louder in her mom's embrace.

"I'm sorry dear. Your brother Liam handle everything very well. He acted like a true king and I'm really proud of him.

I just... I lost control. That's all. I promise you that I'm no longer angry." Daria consoled Satia until she finally stopped crying.

"You did really well yesterday. I'm glad to know that the kingdom will be in great hands when you assume your rightful position." Daria said in a sedated manner.

They all ate their breakfast in silence. "I'll be gone for the week." Liam said wiping his lips with a serviette before looking at his mother who had a surprised expression on her face.

"Gone to where and why?" Daria gave her son a questioning look.

"I'll be going to country Z to spend the week." Liam simply said as if it wasn't much of a big deal whereas it was.

"But why, brother?" Arthur asked confused. Liam has been spending way too much time in Zoavale making them suspicious of something, but they couldn't quite figure out what it was.

"I just have to deal with certain things and I'll be back by next week." He answered casually again, increasing the suspicions of his family.

"What kind of certain things exactly?" Xavier asked Liam, trying to get any answers from his expression, but failed.

Liam has always been able to conceal his thought and feelings making him hard to understand.

"Just things." He said shrugging his shoulder.

"That doesn't explain exactly what kind of THINGS you are talking of." Daria said coldly. She hated the fact that Liam was keeping secrets from her.

"There's nothing to worry about, mom. I'm just going to handle trivia matters." He said smiling.

The Queen became more worried, but she decided to let it slide. 'Liam could take care of himself so there's no need to be worrie.' She reassured herself.

"If you say so, just be careful out there. Country Z is not all rainbows and sunshine like Amstrid." The Queen said in a motherly tone.

"Since when did Amstrid turn all rainbows and sunshine?" Kai asked laughing.

"Its at least safer than Zoavale." The Queen said defending her hometown.

"Well technically it's not all safe anymore now that we are being targeted from the shadows." Zerys said as matter of fact.

The Queen loved Amstrid so much as it was the home of her family and her ancestors.

She felt annoyed on hearing her children compare it to Country Z, so she quickly ended the talk of Zoavale.

"See me in my chambers before you leave." Daria said almost angrily.

Liam and his siblings couldn't help but laugh out loud seeing the Queen's angry expression.

"Of course Amstrid is by far better than Country Z and any other country out there." Darius said still laughing which made the Queen to join in the laughter.

The once tensed environment became lively as if nothing ever transpired between them.

Liam did as he was told by Queen Daria. He went to her chambers before he left.

"Why exactly are you going to Country Z for the week? You know you can tell me whatever it is that is bothering you." Daria finally said as they both sat down on the Queen sized couch at the corner of her room.

"I'm not 100 percent sure of what I'm chasing after which is why I can't let you know yet until I'm sure about it.

I don't want to get you worried when I'm not even sure of my assumptions." Liam said revealing a tiny bit of his unknown quest.

"Can you at least just tell me what it is even though you are not sure about it?" She asked worriedly.

"Don't worry, mom. I'll let you know sooner or later." He gave a faint smile to relax Daria's tensed mind.

"If you say so, just be back on time for the meeting with the royal family of Streia, and don't forget the main purpose of this meeting." The Queen said giving up on figuring out what it was that Liam was after.

"Mom if you are trying to arrange a marriage for me with Princess Alice, then don't even think about it. I'll surely be there on time, but not because of the Princess. Only to honour their visit." Liam said sternly.

"Fine, fine. If you say so, but who knows you might find her attractive and worthy." Daria said giggling like a teen girl talking boy talks with her friends.

"I'm going, Mom." Liam said, rolling his eyes playfully.
