Chapter 43 - A Supernatural Encounter on a Dark Winter Night

This story was told to me by my grandfather. One winter, my grandfather was returning to his hometown to visit relatives. It was a dark night, and snow was falling heavily. Since his home was quite far, and there were no public transportation options, my grandfather had to walk back. As he made his way home, suddenly, he noticed a figure slowly approaching him through the darkness.

In the middle of nowhere, on a pitch-black winter night, my grandfather was puzzled about who could be out so late. He quickened his pace, determined to get a closer look at the approaching person. After walking for a while, he realized that this individual maintained a constant distance from him. It felt odd to my grandfather, who decided to stand on the side of the road and wait for the person to approach.

As expected, the stranger drew nearer. When they were almost face-to-face, my grandfather was horrified to realize that this person, dressed in black winter clothing, was headless and appeared to be hovering in the air, with their feet not touching the ground.

At that moment, my grandfather remembered that urine was believed to have protective qualities against malevolent spirits. Quickly, he unfastened his pants and formed a circle around himself by urinating on the snow. When the headless figure floated past him, it seemed completely unaware of my grandfather's presence, as it continued to float away into the distance.

As soon as the figure had moved far enough away, my grandfather ran as fast as his legs could carry him back home. By the time he arrived, his sweat had soaked through his winter clothing.

Since that night, every time my grandfather returned to his hometown to visit relatives, he made sure to arrive home well before nightfall, never risking another encounter with the supernatural.
