After training one day I had a thought. Wondering if we were strong to cross the veil now. I was about to ask when durato asked the same question. lIke our minds were linked. "Hey don't you think we're strong enough to try and get out of here now?" Asked Durato."Yea I think so." Said Laylah."Yea but if we are checking right we already missed the opportunity to get out when the veil has weakened." I said.I have been keeping track day after day so I knew we have been on this island for roughly 1 year and 8 moths, and judging from the last time we were at the veil now would be a time when it was not weak. So we had to wait three to four months now to try again. We weren't strong enough to go through when the veil is at full power. This island really doesn't like anyone getting in.To fully confirm our weaknesses, Master Zonare woke us up one morning with a grim command. "Prepare for battle," he instructed, his demeanor more serious than I had ever seen."You want us to fight you?" I asked, trying to gauge his intent."Yes," he replied, his voice cold and resolute. "Give it your all, because I won't go easy on you. and no swords""Well, in that case, aahhhh!" Laylah shouted, red energy flickering off her body like crackling flames. Without a second thought, she charged at him, the ground crumbling beneath her feet from the sheer force of her speed. She had become incredibly fast, but Master Zonare was on another level. He sidestepped her effortlessly, his eyes locked onto her with an almost casual disdain. As she passed, he raised his right hand to deliver a powerful blow.Reacting quickly, I unleashed a fire attack aimed directly at him, hoping to throw him off balance. But Master Zonare merely flicked his left hand, as if swatting away an annoying fly. The shockwave from his motion was immense, obscuring my vision and disorienting me. Before I could process what had happened, he was beside me."Weak. Stop playing around," Master Zonare growled, his voice low and menacing, reverberating through the tense air. With a swift flick of his finger against my forehead, it felt like being struck by a truck. The impact was brutal, sending me hurtling through the air. I crashed through a tree, its trunk splintering upon impact, before I managed to catch my balance. My feet dug into the ground, creating deep furrows as I skidded to a stop, the shock of the blow still reverberating through my skull."Shit shit shit!!" I barked as I held my forehead as the pain ran through my head."What was all that training for?" I asked myself.Laylah recovered quickly, her eyes blazing with determination. "I won't let you beat us that easily!" she yelled, her energy flaring brighter, her voice filled with raw defiance. She launched a barrage of energy blasts at Master Zonare, each one causing the air to ripple with intense heat. "Ahhhh!!!" she screamed, pouring every ounce of her strength into the attacks.Master Zonare deflected the blasts with a series of precise, fluid movements of one hand, the shockwaves from his deflections causing nearby trees to splinter and the ground to shake violently. "Is this all you have?" he taunted, his voice carrying over the cacophony of destruction. The ground beneath us trembled, cracks spider-webbing out from the impact points of Laylah's attacks.Durato was nowhere to be found. Panic began to creep in as I scanned the area frantically, wondering if he had run away. But that wasn't like him. Activating the power of my eyes, I searched left, right, and up, my vision sharpening as I scoured the battlefield. Then I spotted him—poised above Master Zonare, about to land a powerful punch from above."Densification Punch!" he shouted, his body flickering with blue energy. As he descended, the air around him seemed to warp with the intensity of his attack. The sheer force of his descent created a sonic boom, the pressure wave flattening the grass and sending debris flying.Master Zonare glanced up, a faint smile playing on his lips. Durato's fist connected with the ground where Master Zonare stood, and the impact was cataclysmic. The earth rippled like water in a pond, shockwaves radiating outward and obliterating the surrounding structures. Trees were uprooted, buildings shattered, and the very ground beneath us seemed to convulse. But as the dust and debris settled, Master Zonare emerged unscathed, standing atop a small, untouched circle of ground amidst the chaos. He hadn't even moved from his spot."Impressive," Master Zonare said, his voice calm and unwavering, "but not enough."With a flick of his wrist, he sent a shockwave of his own toward Durato. The blue energy around Durato flickered as he struggled to withstand the force, but he was sent flying backward, crashing through several trees before coming to a halt."Durato!" I shouted, rushing toward him, but Master Zonare appeared in front of me, blocking my path."Your turn," he said, his eyes gleaming with a mixture of amusement and challenge, daring me to try my luck against him.Fueled by a mix of anger and desperation, I summoned two massive fire attacks, channeling all my energy into the attack. The flames roared to life, casting an intense light that illuminated the devastation around us. With a primal scream, I hurled the fireball at Master Zonare, "primal flare!!" the heat and fury of my attack engulfing him in a torrent of flames. But even as the flames licked at his form, Master Zonare remained unfazed, his aura shimmering with an otherworldly glow. With a wave of his hand, he dispersed the fireball with ease, the flames dissipating into nothingness before they could even touch him."Is that all you've got?" he taunted, his voice echoing in the aftermath of my failed attack.I gritted my teeth, frustration boiling within me. Master Zonare was more powerful than I had ever imagined, his strength seemingly limitless. But I refused to give up.However he stood his ground, raising one hand. The fireball exploded upon impact, a blinding flash of light and heat that should have incinerated anything in its path. But as the light faded, Master Zonare remained, his hand outstretched, the flames dissipated by his sheer will.I staggered, the exertion leaving me breathless. Laylah, seeing my struggle, unleashed a wave of red energy, her attack merging with my remaining flames. The combined force surged toward Master Zonare with destructive intent. With a swift, almost effortless motion, Master Zonare clapped his hands together. The sound was a deafening thunderclap, a shockwave that shattered our attack and sent us sprawling. The ground cracked and heaved, the force of his clap causing a seismic upheaval.Breathing heavily, I forced myself to stand. Durato and Laylah were doing the same, determination etched on their faces despite the bruises and exhaustion.Master Zonare surveyed the destruction with a critical eye. "You have potential, but you lack control and unity. Power without precision is meaningless," he said, his voice echoing with authority.Durato, bloodied but unbowed, struggled to his feet. "We're not done yet," he said, his blue energy flaring once more."Indeed," I added, summoning my remaining strength. Laylah nodded, her red energy flickering around her.The battle had shown us the vast gulf between our abilities and Master Zonare's. But it also ignited a fierce determination within us. We had seen our weaknesses laid bare, and now, we knew the heights we had to reach."AAAHHH!!" I screamed as gravity and purple fire nova force surged from within my body. The ground beneath me cracked and heaved, a storm of energy radiating outward. My eyes burned with fierce, purplefire, their intensity matching the roaring power that consumed me.Durato and Laylah echoed my cry, their own energies flaring to life. Durato was enveloped in a brilliant blue aura, his muscles rippling with the force of his power. The very air around him seemed to hum with energy. Laylah, meanwhile, was bathed in a radiant red light, her body crackling with raw, plasma like power. The three of us stood together, our combined energies creating a vortex of color and force. The ground trembled, and the air became thick with the oppressive weight of our unleashed power. The forest around us began to disintegrate under the sheer magnitude of our combined might.Master Zonare watched us, his expression unyielding but his eyes gleaming with a mix of challenge and approval. "Show me what you are truly capable of," he commanded, his voice cutting through the cacophony of energy."Now, together!" I shouted. Durato and Laylah nodded, their eyes blazing with determination.Laylah moved next, her red energy forming a swirling vortex around her. "Plasma Burst!" she shouted, releasing a torrent of flames that surged toward Master Zonare. The heat was intense, the flames consuming everything in their path. Simultaneously, I channeled the gravity and purple fire nova force within me, focusing all my energy into a single, concentrated blast. "Celestial Wrath!" I screamed, unleashing a torrent of gravity and fire toward Master Zonare.Durato, not missing a beat, added his power to the attack. "Densification Punch!" he roared again, his blue energy merging with our combined assault. The combined might of our attacks roared toward Master Zonare, a cataclysmic force of blue, red, and purple energy. The ground buckled and split beneath the force of our united assault, and the air itself seemed to ignite with the sheer intensity.Master Zonare's eyes widened slightly, the first sign of genuine effort. "Impressive," he muttered. "But still not enough." He raised both hands, and his aura flared to life, a brilliant golden light that contrasted starkly with our combined energies."I suppose I'll have to use a bit more power," he said, a rare hint of amusement in his voice. "Six percent should suffice."With that, he released a fraction of his true power. The effect was instantaneous and awe-inspiring. A massive shockwave erupted from him, meeting our combined attack head-on. The ground shattered, trees were torn from their roots, and the sky itself seemed to ripple from the immense force. For a moment, it felt as though the world was ending. The energy clash created a blinding light, forcing us to shield our eyes. When the light finally subsided, the battlefield was left in ruins. A vast crater marked the spot where our attacks had met Master Zonare's defense.Breathing heavily, I forced myself to stand. Durato and Laylah were doing the same, their faces marked with a mix of exhaustion and determination. Despite our combined might, Master Zonare stood unscathed, his aura slowly dimming as he reined in his power."Better," he said, his voice carrying over the silent devastation. "But still far from sufficient. You have much to learn and far to go."''This man....what is he?" I asked myself.
We looked at everything that happened. We gave it our all and yet we still only barely made him use less than 10% of his power. We had to get stronger because if they're monster otut there stronger than him then we needed to be able to dispatch them.
