We made our way off the island and onto a narrow aisle that led straight to the mainland. The air was thick with tension, every step echoing the unspoken anticipation of the battle ahead. Without hesitation, Durato drew his sword and swung it with unparalleled force. The sheer power of his strike tore a monstrous centipede that had suddenly appeared in two, its grotesque form collapsing in a spray of blood and ichor."Watch out!" I shouted, spotting another beast closing in.On our right, Laylah mirrored Durato's actions, her blade slicing cleanly through a giant lizard. Both their slashes left deep gashes in the ground, splitting the earth and parting the sea on either side as if the waters themselves feared their might."What the heck?" Laylah muttered, her eyes wide as she surveyed the aftermath of her simple slash. "These creatures just keep coming."The monsters were grotesque amalgamations of centipedes, lizards, and dragonflies, each more fearsome than the last. There were three of each, their numbers seemingly endless. Yet, Durato and Laylah moved with a grace and power that belied their human forms. Every swing of their blades was a testament to their strength, creating shockwaves that echoed across the battlefield."Keep your eyes open!" Durato yelled, his voice cutting through the chaos. "There are more coming from the left!""I see them!" Laylah responded, her blade whistling through the air as she decapitated a dragonfly-like creature. "These things are relentless."Despite the chaos and the deafening roars of battle, I continued to walk forward, cradling the baby monster in my arms. The sheer ferocity of Durato and Laylah's onslaught was awe-inspiring; their power was absolute, reducing the once terrifying monsters to mere nuisances."How's the baby?" Durato called out to me, his sword cleaving through another wave of attackers."Safe," I replied, my voice steady despite the turmoil. "We're almost there."The ground trembled, and waves crashed violently against the sundered earth, but the two warriors were undeterred. Their blades danced through the air, a deadly ballet that left no room for hesitation or error."Laylah, behind you!" I shouted, spotting a particularly large beast creeping up on her.Laylah spun around, her blade already in motion. "Thanks! These things are sneaky.""I don't get it," Durato grumbled as he split another centipede in half. "Why are there so many of them?""Does it matter?" Laylah retorted, slashing through two lizards in quick succession. "Let's just focus on getting through this.""Agreed," Durato said, nodding. "Let's clear the path for him." As they cut through the horde, the noise was almost deafening, a symphony of destruction that resonated with the very core of the island. The monsters were no match for their skill and strength. It was as if the world itself bowed before their might. Amidst the carnage, I walked on, serenely calm, the baby secure in my grasp, trusting implicitly in their invincible power to clear the way.We walked for almost an hour until we came to a stop. By this time, Durato and Laylah were drenched in monster blood, though it hadn't soaked into their garments. I had to admit, I loved the outfits Master had given us."Hey, why are you guys exerting so much force to kill intermediate-level monsters?" I asked, wiping sweat from my brow."I'm not really doing that. It's like I don't know my own strength," Laylah replied, looking puzzled as she examined the blood splattered on her blade."Yeah, she's right. I'm just trying to kill weak monsters, but they explode like I'm hitting them with full force," Durato added, shaking his head in frustration."I wonder if it's because our bodies got used to the atmosphere and conditions on the island?" I mused aloud, thinking back to the harsh training we had endured."Yeah, that's exactly it," Durato agreed, his tone serious. "We need to be aware of our strength here. Any mistake and we could kill an innocent person accidentally.""So, we should attack like we're fighting a baby?" Laylah asked, her brow furrowing in concentration."Not exactly," I interjected. "More like we need to fine-tune our attacks, control our power better. We can't afford to be careless."Laylah sighed, wiping her forehead. "This is going to take some getting used to. But it makes sense. Our power isn't just for fighting monsters anymore."Durato nodded. "We need to practice restraint. It's not just about defeating enemies; it's about protecting those who can't protect themselves."I smiled at their determination. "We'll get there. It's just another part of our training. Master always said that true strength lies in control, not just raw power."Laylah looked thoughtful for a moment, then grinned. "Alright, so let's start practicing. I'll pretend the next monster is a delicate flower."Durato laughed. "And I'll pretend it's a fragile egg. This should be interesting."A barrier stood before us, a formidable wall of energy that seemed to stretch endlessly in both directions. We couldn't help but wonder what its purpose might be. Was it meant to protect people from monsters, or was it simply a part of the island we had stumbled upon? Regardless, we knew that we wouldn't allow it to stop us from reaching our destination. With a sense of determination, we each placed our hands on the barrier, but nothing happened. We looked at one another, unsure of what to do next. It was as if we were all thinking the same thing.''So I guess we can test out that restraint on this thing before us?'' I asked."Universe presenting the perfect opportunity right." added Laylah with a hint of sarcasm.Without hesitation, we jumped back and prepared for battle. Durato drew his sword, which gleamed in the sunlight. His sword was beautiful.Durato feeling a rush of power as he imbued it with nova force - a technique we had learned from Master Zonare. With powerful waves of energy emanating from his sword, Durato sliced at the barrier, but it remained unbroken."What are you doing??" I asked."This barrier has enough nova force eminating from it like an advanced class monster on the island, So I was testing my attack power." said Durato."So attack like we are fighting the scorpion dragon??" Asked Laylah."Not that extreme, attack like you're killing one of those monsters back there in one go." Instructed Durato.Laylah and I joined in the attack, unleashing plasma balls and fireballs on the barrier in rapid successions. Durato continued to strike with his sword, each blow sending ripples of energy through the barrier."This is getting boring!" shouted Laylah."Just keep it up and dont increase your power at all." I intructed. Finally, the barrier began to crack, and with one final burst of power, it shattered into millions of pieces, fading away into thin air. It was like smoke disappering as it floated off but you could see each particle vividly breaking away before disappearing."Well, I guess this is it, let's get going." I said."I wonder what lies ahead?" asked Laylah.
"I sense alot of...well nevermind, let's go." said Durato.
