A sudden force hit Kara where she stood. She fell hastily on the ground. She became unconscious immediately. Her hands still gripped the dagger.
Beta Eddy was startled. He couldn't tell what had happened to her. He moved closer to her, slowly, scared that she might be faking it.
When he got closer, he hit off the dagger from her hands, while making use of the stick he was holding. He was surprised to see the dagger fall off her hands.
"Seems she's not faking it."
He began to move the dagger, making use of the stick in his hands.
Kara's eyes were still perfectly closed and her body was motionless. He placed his right palm on Kara's neck. Her body had become colder than it was.
He watched her abdomen for a while. It wasn't moving. He could tell that she wasn't breathing.
Beta Eddy was perplexed. He feared if she was still alive.
