Jorge was feeling conflicted. He knew Selena was right that something was feeling odd about the note, but he couldn't understand why she was so convinced that something was wrong.
He has been friends with Eva for years, and he'd never seen any indication that she was in any form danger. And yet, he couldn't ignore the fact that Eva was one of the strongest of her kind, so who would dare threaten her with a piece of paper.
These thoughts swirled around in his head as he continued driving. It was all he could do to keep his mind on the road, but he knew that he needed to be focused. They were almost at the office, and he wanted to be sure that he was fully prepared for the conversation they were about to have.
