"Are you a top or bottom?"
I swallow hard as my face surely went red. I quickly pushed him away and could finally breath. Luckily there was no struggle.
"Woah! Back up!"
He simply laughed at my reaction and I was even more embarrassed. He walked past me and started changing and I immediately looked the other way. I waited for him to finish or atleast speak while my back was facing him.
"Relax, I was only teasing. We met before but nice to meet you. What's my name, do you remember?" He asked. I turned around to see him now dressed and sitting on a couch. He signalled me to take a seat across from his and so I did. "Aiden," I said taking a seat. "That's right, and you are Elliott Foster, son of the well known Desmond Foster and Barbara Foster. You're a senior at Kingston Academy. Top of your class in academics and athletics, even one of the highest ranking in your school although you have the skill of not standing out despite of these facts. Very antisocial and you have a small group of friends consisting of six people, and you're best friend is one James Moore. Is that right?"
"Wow, that's not creepy at all."
He just smirked as he looked out the the window, watching the stars and moon.
"Do you believe in God? Like you know, heaven, hell and the bible?" He suddenly asked. I was a bit confused and so I didn't answer immediately. To be fair I've never really thought about it before. "I don't know. I've never considered it. Although my family believes strongly on the subject," I said.
He smiled as he turned back to look at me once more, his crimson red eyes lit up for a brief second before he spoke.
"What if I told you I made a deal the devil and I could make all your problems go away," he said still smiling. I couldn't tell if he was being serious, a good liar or just has screws loose but I decided to humour him. "How would you do that exactly?" I asked. "Simple really, all you have to do is make deal." He said as the smile turn sinister.
"What's the catch?"
"Depends, for anything I give you or do for you, you'll hold up your end of the bargain. For example, joining the Phantom Mafia if that's was within our deal."
"How exactly would you solve my problems?"
"Let's find out." He said stretching out his hand, opening up for a handshake as his hand covered in deep red flames. He didn't react so I figured it was part of his powers. Something about him didn't feel right, I mean obviously since I've met him he's been a walking red flag but now he just felt... evil.
"No deal."
He pulled back his hand and the flames dissipated.
"Fine. But since your already here and I'm pretty sure your not in a hurry to go back home, I want you to do a job for me."
I looked at him with a bit of concern and scepticism to which he picked up on almost immediately. "Don't worry, it won't require making a deal and I'll even pay you for your troubles. It should be easy enough, just retrieving some data. You'll also be going with three others, Josh and Isaac which you've already met along with my brother Jax." He said. I thought it over and against my better judgement I agreed.
I left to go back into the elevator and Josh was still there. I got inside and as the doors closed he looked at me for any confirmation to what he thought I had done. "I didn't make a deal with him, but I'm joining for tonight's mission." I said. He nodded and proceeded to press the button to the firth floor, "Welcome to the team. But you're going to need to suit up."
The doors opened to reveal a high-tech room filled with all kinds of futuristic technology. Josh started walking in and I followed. "Step onto that platform for a sec." He said. I did as told, stepping on the circular glowing platform that started scanning me while Josh looked at the results from the scan.
"A healing factor, significantly enhanced physical abilities, massive energy reserves and crazy genetics." Josh said in owe at screen in his hands.
"Thanks...?"
He smiled as he looked back at me, "Sorry, it's just your not the average superhuman, it's like your genes are specifically designed for this line of work. But right now we need to get you suited up, we could always figure out your powers later."
At this point I honestly didn't care enough to argue with him claim.
He gave me a touch screen to customise my suit and told me it would me made by some kind of magically amplified 3-D printer. What on Earth have I gotten myself into?
Just as I finish my design and my suit was in the works, someone came into the room. It was Isaac and Jax, who looked almost exactly like a younger version of Aiden except he had hazel green eyes.
"Who's the new recruit?" Jax asked as he walked up to me and Josh. "This is Elliott, he'll be joining us for the mission. Boss's orders," Josh answered him and Jax nodded. Throughout all of this Isaac was just silent as he got his suit. Josh focused back on me, "We don't use real names names on missions, as stupid as it may seem it'll help to have a persona. Isaac is Havoc, if you didn't already know he has supersonic abilities but in other words his scream can blow up your head. Jax over there is Jinx, and his power is called Hellfire. As for myself I'm Primal and you already know my powers. The name thing can be confusing but it's effective. What about you?"
I hadn't thought about it and it wasn't like this was going to be a permanent thing, right? Nonetheless I came up with a name. "Call me Glitch."
"Okay then, your suits ready so let's get going."
We left to some kind of small government compound in the far outskirts of the closest civilization. It looked to be a sort of research facility that was unfortunately guarded by Enforcers.
"Enforcers are most likely everywhere, inside and out. Jinx and I will draw their attention and take care of those on the outside. While we do that, Glitch and Havoc, you two will go inside where Havoc will get the needed data and document and Glitch will handle any other security and cover Havoc for as long as possible. It's likely that they'll call for back backup but it should take about over thirty minutes for them to get here so we act quick." Josh gave the orders. I was more nervous and my mind was playing out all the ways things could go wrong but tried to focus.
The plan went into motion, Jax starting off by crashing in blasting green flames at the Enforcers and Josh tossing them around like a toddler to an old toy.
Isaac found an opening to enter the building avoiding detection from those outside. Isaac quickly found the room storing what we came for. Unfortunately we ran into a group of Enforcers led by none other than Commander Ackerman.
"What do we have here? You're just kids playing dress up, what do expect to accomplish? Wait that's wrong, your kind shouldn't even be considered human." The Commander spoke as his squad readied their weapons.
"Isa- Havoc, go I got this." I said. Isaac nodded and quickly disappeared.
"That was a mistake."
They fired their guns, I snapped their fingers and the world seemed to freeze. Honestly I wasn't expecting anything to happen. Bullets hung suspended in mid-air, and the Enforcers were frozen in place. Time control, amazing what the fear of death can trigger. With a gesture, I unleashed a wave of energy that sent the Enforcers flying in all directions. The air was filled with the sound of gunfire and their screams as they were tossed around like rag dolls. As the chaos settled, I stood tall, surveying the scene. I could see them struggling to get up, their bodies bruised and battered.
"Not too bad for a kid, huh."
With a flick of their wrist, I sent a blast of energy towards the nearest agent, sending them flying into the wall. The wall crumbled, sending debris flying in all directions.
As the dust cleared, they slowly got to their feet, their faces set in determination. The Commander raised their gun and fired a shot at me, but I held my hand Infront of the bullet and it stopped. I moved my hand around, the bullet moving with it, and let go of my hold on it sending the bullet flying to the side. The Enforcers looked at each other, their resolve wavering.
"We need to pool our resources and use everything we have to stop this monster," the Commander said. The others nodded, their resolve renewed. They formed a circle around me, their weapons raised. With a wave of my hand, I sent a shockwave of energy that knocked them off their feet without wasting any time. "You can be more creative than that," I said, my voice admittedly full of arrogance. The Enforcers struggled to their feet once again, their resolve stronger than ever. It was starting to get annoying. They desperately fired several weapons me from different directions and the firing only stopped when they ran out of ammunition. As the dust settled, I was still standing.
I had somehow formed a forcefield around me stopping the bullets from reaching me. As I let go of my hold on the forcefield, all the bullets dropped to the ground around me. The Enforcers lay scattered around me, their bodies batterd and bruised with minor serious injuries and their spirits crushed. I raise my hand, ready to deliver the final blow. A strange symbol briefly appearing Infront of my hand as I sent a wave of energy at the enemy. It directly hit all of them, rendering them immobile.
"Stay down, you resilient fucks."
I quickly go to find Isaac and on the way I find several bodies with missing heads, as if they imploded. It wasn't the happiest site but I just moved on. I found Isaac just as he finished getting everything we came from. "We seriously need have a talk," I said to him as we went outside.
Outside was a bloodbath, bodies and severed body parts littered the ground and Jax was setting all of it on fire. When he saw we were out of the facility he proceeded to set it on fire. It scared me how unfazed I seemed but it's not like it's the first time I've killed.
We quickly left the area going back to the office building.
"Nice work team. Mission accomplished."
