Chapter 10 - Unwanted Bonds and Unexpected Allies

DEAD VALLEY.

The handsome alpha was what seemed to capture Iris's attention. They stared into each other for a long until they were interrupted by someone clearing their throat loudly, who else could that be if not the jealous Noel? Darrell glared at him for interrupting them. Iris looked with a faded shade as she blushed, and this did not go unnoticed by both Noel and Darrell. Darrell smiled briefly as he noticed the effect he had on the huntress before him, while Noel just scowled. She quickly covered her feelings and put on a business face.

"To what do I owe the pressure of being invited to the meeting by the big bad alpha?" Iris asked sarcastically.

"You know the reason we called you hear. So here is our offer. We let your parent free, and you agree to be my mate and also you have to promise not to hunt our kind anymore." Darrell told her.

"That will never happen you cannot have her as you mate over my dead body. You do not deserve the honor of having him as your mate." Noel interrupted Iris before she could speak earning a growl from Iris and Darrell. When they had Iris growl, they all looked at her as if she had grown a second head. Realizing the mistake, she had made she cleared her throat making everyone snap and look somewhere else except her.

"The last I confirmed she could speak for herself, so I don't get why you have to answer for her," Darrell told Noel.

"Can you shut up both of you I have had enough of you. Here is what I have to say I am never going to become your mate. And I don't care what you think you are holding my parent in your filthy home, but you should know that you are dealing with a blood hunter here and I will stop at nothing less than getting my parent back. You won't know what happened when I decide to come for them and don't dare even think of killing them because I will make sure your life will be a nightmare and trust me you don't want to be on my bad side." Iris told Darrell firmly.

"If you think you are the one who has been wronged remember that you are the one who started this by killing my other mate and my twin. If you had learnt your place all this war would not be there. My wife was not harming anyone she was just having her morning run and you decide to end her life because you think that she was a monster. If you had not killed her then this bond would not have been activated. So don't blame us for this bond you caused it. Then I guess this meeting is over and you can say bye to your parent for good and I look forward to you coming. Maybe you don't know who you are trying to mess with." Darrell said as he and his team retreated to their territory. And the hunters into theirs. Noel was now smiling like a kid who had a candy shop. He almost laughed at the disappointed look on Darrell's face after Iris had confirmed that she was not going to be his mate. It took Darrell all his strength not to turn back and take Iris in his arms and kiss the life out of her. His wolf was threatening to come out especially when he saw the way Noel was looking at what was theirs and her intoxicating smell was not helping to calm his wolf instead it just threatened to rip the hunter beside their mate into pieces. He had left the place before his wolf had done something he could regret much later.

BLOOD MOON PACK

"Hey, now that she has refused to be your mate what are you going to do?" Clive asked his best friend who had not spoken from the time they left the nemeton.

"I don't know. The gods can do what they want I cannot go begging her to be with me. I don't think she will want to unite with us I guess we will just unite with vampires if this doom comes. Though they are our enemies it's easier to reason with them." Darrell said trying to hide his emotion, but you could still feel the sadness in his voice. Deep inside him he was disappointed though he had expected that seeing that her mother had also rejected his father, but he was hoping it would be different with him. But it seemed like he was inheriting everything from his father including bad mates. He now wanted to get away to the lake so he could be alone and also let out his frustration. Clive seemed to sense this because he left him alone and joined his mate who was helping kids with their schoolwork. He comes from behind her and kisses her neck. Isabella turns around and gives him a peck on his lips. There was a series of 'yuck' and 'ewes' that were had from the kids who were watching them. Isabella blushed furiously and hid her face in her mate's chest. Clive chuckled at this. He asked the kids to go and play outside in the park and he and his wife went to their room. The long day without seeing her and he was missing her like crazy. Soon their clothes were flying everywhere in the room. Later when they were lying naked under the sheet Isabella asked how it had gone with the meeting with the hunters.

"I am really worried about Darrell the huntress refused to be his mate though he is trying to act like he has not been hurt by the rejection you can see clearly that he is a mess especially now that he has been rejected."

"And where is he now?" Isabella asked as she drew a little circle on her mate's chest lazily. The two found each other on the annual mate ball. At that time Darrell had already found his mate. Katherine had welcomed Isabella to the pack and though she was an omega before meeting Clive they had welcomed her like she was a royal. Because of that she always felt that she owed to them that their marriage was standing.

"He looked like he needed to be alone, so I left him, and I think for a walk and most likely to the lake. Since Katherine died, he has been going there too much. But as long as he doesn't become like his father, I am okay." Clive said.

Gordon was enjoying as the wind blew his black fur, he breathed the cool woody air and continued running until he came to the lake that he liked. He drank the water and went inside the water until he was soaked to the bone, and he came from the water and shook it off his far and lay on the rocks that formed the cliff he let the sun rays dry him as he enjoyed the warmth.

"Darrell don't you think this is quite calming out here I always hate the pack house a lot of noise and father with his dramas with mother," Gordon said to his human who laughed as he remembered when his mother had forced his father to wear makeup and high heels and walk around the royal wing on them Isabella had laughed so hard until she got hiccups and she did not stop until Katherine tried to get her floor as she held her stomach but Katherine was not in a better situation and he and Clive had been a forced to lift the floor. Immediately he remembered Katherine his mood changed, and he went back to his sad mood. Gordon tried to think of something that would make him not think of Katherine, but he could not come up with anything.

"It would have been more relaxing if Katherine would be here with me," Darrell said and Gordon nodded his head in agreement.

What if you talked to her parent about the prophecy maybe they would try to convince her for you that you need to be together." Gordon suggested.

"I don't think they will want to help us with all the torture my father is giving them and also her mother rejected my father, so I don't expect more out of her," Darrell told his wolf.

"But it does not hurt to try, and this situation is different from your father's. At least you have a reason you want to be mates with their daughter and your reason is benefiting their world so maybe they will have a soft spot for you." Gordon continued to insist that he should go see her parent. After arguing with him for a long he agreed, and he went back to the pack house to talk with her parents.
