Chapter 54 - indomitable

Though he showed zealousness, the buffing of the cultivation plane had already worn off, he was simply putting a brave face in front of the crowd so that the Sailors didn't took advantage of him. These guys were cultivators of the dark attribute after all, they were not civilized individuals. The can kill, blackmail and betray even their relatives, Lazy Wafula didn't want to know what they will do to him once they find out about his weak state.

Lazy Wafula piled up all the beasts that he had killed on top of each other forming a mountain of corpses. There were both level one and level two Cavern Cats that formed this mountain of corpses. No one among the Sailors gang dared to utter a word, fearing that their heads may roll the next moment. The coldness in Lazy Wafula's eyes was just enough for deterring them.

Olie Nyang simply curled her lips disdainfully but she didn't utter a sound. After all, Lazy Wafula had shown to be more powerful than her. She was very knowledgeable to know that just after watching the battle of his. Coming from a higher race, she had been reminded from time to time not to displease those ones stronger than her and that was how she lived even until now. She will not dare to raise her head knowing that the person in front of her was that strong.

But Olie Nyang could not help but have second thoughts, she couldn't believe that the strong person before her this time round came from a weak race at that. This was difficult for her to swallow and if others from her race heard this, her reputation will fall to the gutter. Her brilliance will never be regarded once again because of this shame.

Olie Nyang had only killed four Cavern Cats while the remaining of her gang had managed to slay two Cavern Cats. All the Cavern Cats that they slayed were level two because they joined the battle too late when Lazy Wafula had already taken out all the level one Cavern Cats.

Lazy Wafula sat meditatively in front of the mountain of corpses as jealous and greedy eyes fell on him but he didn't care about those flies. He allowed his meridians which pierced his skin and wriggled out towards the mountain of corpses.

"Does he want to absorb the essence of the Cavern Cats right here? That will take a long time. Don't tell me that he plans to stay in this jungle until he was satisfied."

"I don't know what he is doing because to me, I only know that only those people from the higher races are able to quickly absorb the blood energy of the beasts."

"This is strange." Olie Nyang muttered to herself. She was going to store the level two Cavern Cats that she had slain but she stopped right after seeing the action that Lazy Wafula had taken. She was suddenly aghast to find out that Lazy Wafula's absorption rate was simply insane as compared to her's. This also didn't go unnoticed to the spectators. They were all just as aghast as Olie Nyang.

"Is he a demon disguised as a human?" One of the spectators asked.

"I don't think so. The demons are proud creatures. They won't disguise themselves so lowly just to look like humans. Humans are their slaves, how can they lower themselves that low?"

Discussions were undergoing in the background but Lazy Wafula was totally indifferent about them. He absorbed the blood energy of the beasts unperturbed by the group of Sailors.

Suddenly Lazy Wafula frowned. He had just absorbed the blood essence of ten level one beasts and when he absorbed the eleventh and the twelfth beast, he didn't gain an additional blood energy. It was now just like a person who had eaten kilos of meat - only a meager percentage of the meat will be useful to their body while the bigger percentage of the remainder will be washed out. Lazy Wafula then decided to confirm if there was a maximum to the percentage of the blood energy that a cultivator can absorb. Thus, he turned to the level two Cavern Cats and also the same thing happened. He could absorb the blood energy the way he liked but only the blood energy of the first ten beasts will be useful to him. After the figure of the beasts absorbed struck ten, no blood energy was added to his dantian.

"Nakba, why is the blood energy of only ten Cavern Cats was added to my dantian. Where had the other percentage of blood energy gone to?" Lazy Wafula asked the only knowledgeable being he could turn to.
