Chapter 44 - Cavern cats (ii

Those soulless bodies had a dull look and they were not as active as they were before. They became more like machines that could be easily manipulated. Even when the binding was removed, the soulless bodies didn't escape but remained there statically like a statue as if they were already dead a long time ago. The cats will then drag the soulless bodies to a hidden pit under a huge boulder. One can clearly see many rotting corpses, some soulless bodies that had yet to perish but they can do nothing and there were also many bones and dried hides there. When the pit was open, the putrid smell that permeated into their noses was too unbearable. It pricked their noses and some of them can not help but gagged on themselves because they can't move as they were tied.

Apparently, the soulless bodies would be thrown in that pit and left to die slowly. There were not only just the corpses of people of different races in that pit, but also the corpses of beasts were not left out. These Cavern Cats only absorbed their souls and as for their blood energy, they were not even interested in it. After all, purifying the blood energy gained with the dark energy from the earth of this plane was not possible. The dark energy only added to the energy pool in their dantian but not to purify. unlike the cultivators who had spiritual energy in their home planets to purify their blood energy.

While the Cavern Cats were taking another group for their kittens to absorb their souls, the temperature of the surrounding which was already cold became even more and more cold all of a sudden. The cats stopped what they were doing and stared at where the source of this coldness was coming from.

The captives who were the remaining group of Sailors also forcefully tilted their heads or perceived at where the cold was coming from with bated breaths but they were disappointed after scanning the cultivation power of the guy. When summed up, his cultivation stage was equalled to a mid, level one. How can such a weak person help them?

"It is the newbie guy, what is he doing here. Does he want to get himself killed so much?"

"Who cares, we are just in the same situation what he had just done was to join us. If I were him, I would have tried to escape first."

"The guy is a dimwit, he had simply stood there like a tree waiting the cats to make a move, does he think that he has maximized all his bars?"

Lazy Wafula had sensed many auras of cultivators from this place, many that he can still remember because they were the ones that vowed to teach him a lesson while others were new faces. He was also delighted to see this many beasts after moving around for a long while without catching a single beast. Now he will have a chance to fill up his level one bar and if he was too lucky, he can even fill up the level two also.

Lazy Wafula was standing bravely on one of the suspended boulder like a king. A sword in hand which was stabbed in the rock. He was nonchalant and indifferent about the situation that the Sailors found themselves in. He had not come here to rescue them and he didn't even care if they were killed. They were not his children after all. He simply stared at their souls being ripped apart unconcerned. His gaze was fixed on the chubby Cavern Cat which was their leader. He can feel a strong aura from it, it was even more stronger than the Evil Eye that he had just killed.

The chubby king of the Cavern Cats was also staring at him intently. It had scanned the guy several times and it had come to a conclusion just like the rest of the fettered cultivators that the guy was a mid, level one. But deep inside, its instincts were warning it about the guy which it found so disorienting.

The cat had also not sensed any aura or a disturbance of the air or the movement of the dark energy in the surroundings which made it to be not aware of the presence of the guy. It only came to know of his presence after the guy released boundless coldness.

Lazy Wafula was so integrated into this plane in that his movements cannot be trased or sensed.
