Chapter 129 - Chapter 129: The Princess's Proposal

At the White Orchard Lord's Mansion, House briefed Lann on the handling of the Chort's corpse. The dwarves are not Lann's subordinates, so they have to share part of the loot.

In the end, in addition to the Chort mutagen that Lann took, he also got the entire Chort head. Per Lann's request, the dwarves prepared to give him a simple embalming treatment.

As for the skin, tendons, hooves, and the like of the Chort, all were divided among the dwarves, who set about making weapons and armor. Zoltan also had channels to sell them to alchemists or pharmacists.

Honestly, the ones who worked the hardest in this battle were them, Lann and the Cintra cavalry were barely on the sidelines. This distribution was quite reasonable.

Adda waited quietly for House to finish reporting to Lann, without any impatience. When House finally bowed, she stopped drinking her wine.

Lann looked at the princess who had been waiting silently. This princess was undoubtedly beautiful.

The experience of being a Striga gave her body a wild nature, and her status as a princess, as well as years of aristocratic education etched a touch of elegance into her every movement.

At this moment she has taken off her armor and is leaning lazily on the chair.

Her outfit, daring like that of a sorceress, was revealing but elegant, outlining her beautiful curves and her fiery red hair contrasted with her pale skin.

Lann took the jug and refilled Adda's empty glass, then poured another for himself.

Lann mentally estimated that many of the Chort materials would require processing locally, estimating that they would need to remain in White Orchard for about three more days.

"My work is done. If there are no setbacks, I will leave for Maribor in three days. Until then, my time belongs to the princess, did you mention that you had something important to discuss with me?" Lann took a sip from his wine glass.

"I've heard about the situation in Cintra. You need allies, right?"

Lan nodded. "I believe you are also aware that the northern talks will be held at Hagge Castle in the near future. My reason for leaving so early is to secure as much support as possible for Cintra at that meeting."

"But as you have seen, I have differences of opinion with your father."

Adda had a different idea. "You can't be friends with my father, but you can build a friendship with me. I also need allies."

Lann was stunned for a moment, looking at the Temerian princess carefully from top to bottom, thinking about a possibility. But he still tentatively said:

"Princess, you're joking. You are Foltest's only daughter. Who in all of Temeria is not your ally?"

"Are you looking for Temeria to go beyond being the 'first power in the North' to becoming the 'only power in the North'?"

In response to Lann's teasing, Adda shook her head. "I am the only daughter of my parents, but my father has many illegitimate sons and daughters, some older than me."

Adda said sternly: "I don't think you can't see this. When I grow up, I will definitely be married to a prince."

"The prince of Redania is about the same age as me. I heard that the princess of Cintra was once engaged to him."

Lann nodded, confirming the princess's idea.

Adda continued: "Illegitimate children can be legitimized at any time. I know what kind of proposal my father has made to you. If he can recognize one illegitimate son to win over Cintra, he can support another illegitimate son to inherit the kingdom."

Adda sighed. "Even a figure like Queen Calanthe needs to marry to consolidate the kingdom's internal support. Much less me."

Hearing this, Lann became serious. He looked up and down at the girl in front of him, and it turned out that she had long since broken away from her identity as a cursed princess.

She seemed to be very well integrated into the political environment of Tameria.

"So, Princess, you want to ally with Cintra, right?" Lann asked. "Do you want Cintra, Temeria's neighbor, to support you in becoming the first queen of Temeria in history?"

Adda nodded. "In exchange, I will do everything I can to help Cintra. From helping you to helping myself, I think you could trust me more."

Lann nodded. "Then, how can I trust you?"

How to build trust between the two parties in the alliance is naturally a top priority, and Adda seems to have a plan for this.

After hearing Lann's question, Adda's attitude suddenly changed. Her eyes took on an aggressive look, as if she were the fearsome Striga again. She fixed her gaze on Lann's face, as if she wanted to devour him completely.

"It is similar to my father's proposal. Only deeper communication and exchange of blood can allow us to understand each other better and build mutual trust."

Lann immediately sensed that something was wrong with Adda. With his experience in negotiations, he perfectly understood Adda's intention.

It was the same negotiation, and the same bargaining chip. He suddenly felt dazed and seemed to have returned to that night a year ago, when he faced the Dryad of Brokilon.

Will Lann accept this offer?

After a moment of thought, he decided not to accept right away. He planned to debate with Princess Adda some more and state the pros and cons to avoid future complications.

Then Lann said regretfully: "Princess Adda, you may not know something. Witchers are sterile. I may not be able to implement your suggestion."

Adda was puzzled for a moment, her eyes became clear, and then she gave him a contemptuous look. "You... can't do it?"

Lann was also shocked, her gaze turning fierce. "It's not that I can't do it, it's that you can't handle it. The witcher's mutations have improved my abilities, a complete improvement."

Adda pondered Lann's ambiguous words for a moment, then realized the meaning and her eyes lit up again. Wouldn't that be even better?

Lann continued righteously: "So I ask you to take back your insulting words towards me, otherwise, I will show you why I have the reputation of 'Lannister, always pays his debts'."

Adda licked her lips. "What would happen if I don't take back my words? Let me see it?"

...

In the bedroom of White Orchard Lord's Mansion, Princess Adda and Lord Lannister had a cordial and friendly conversation.

...

In the early morning, when the first ray of sunlight came in, Lann opened his eyes and felt a little confused. Although he felt somewhat dizzy, he had to get up and do his homework.

Lann looked at Princess Adda, who had been knocked unconscious due to exhaustion. Apparently having previously been a Striga she has greatly improved her physique.

After gazing at her for a moment, Lann sighed sincerely. Looking at her closely, he could vaguely see the beauty that once unsettled Temeria. Lann understood in part why Foltest had such a passionate and incomprehensible love.

Speaking of which, Foltest hoped to make an alliance between the two kingdoms through Ciri, but Lann reached an alliance through Foltest's daughter first.

Thinking that Adda's name and appearance are derived from Foltest's wife, all this is even more exciting.

Lann shook his head to clear the dangerous thoughts from his mind, put on a robe, and sat down in front of the desk. He then took out the [Gryphon School Contact Notes] from the [Inventory] and began to write under the warm morning light.

"Dear teacher, I hope this letter finds you well...

I've been wandering around Temeria for a long time. After meeting Foltest, the king of Temeria, I deeply realized the stubbornness of the northern kings and the seriousness of the war situation. That's why I need your help more urgently..."

"However, I have made a new friend in Tameria, and, after friendly discussions, we have found a solution for Cintra."

"I have paid a considerable price and I hope that this can help my kingdom to some degree. It is my duty and my responsibility..."

Lann was almost moved by his own writing. But he thought it would be best not to reveal too many details to Jerome.

"I encountered a Chort in White Orchard. It took a lot of effort to hunt it down along with the help of some soldiers. This managed to protect the local residents from harm. I did not accept any assignments, nor did I receive any reward afterwards."

"This reflects the spirit of the Gryphon School and also one of my original intentions for establishing the Order of Witchers. I sincerely hope that such a scene can appear throughout Cintra and spread to the North and even the entire continent..."

After rambling for a bit, Lann finally wrote down his true purpose.

"Inside the Chort I found a mutagen Chort that, from the notes you gave me, seems to be useful for making special potions. When you have time, please open a teleportation portal. I need your guidance..."

At this point, Lann felt intermittent dizziness.

"Lann?" Suddenly, a sleepy voice came from behind, it was full of fatigue, a little hoarse and with a sensuality that captivated.
