Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The Lion’s Family

A fascinating game. That's the impression I had when I first played 'The Witcher' video games, I was impressed by the skills that could be mastered. Also, I felt that the game was too complicated and difficult for me. But now that I have transmigrated with a Goldfinger that is based on the video game, I am extremely happy with the gameplay of the game.

You know, although the world of 'The Witcher' is filled with various magical creatures, including vampires and dragons, the individual combat performance is quite poor. You could say it's quite realistic.

We cannot find a single example like in other fantasy worlds where a person who masters supernatural powers can alone defeat an army of thousands, or even one who can defeat a hundred people. Even defeating ten warriors can only be achieved by a few very powerful villains or the Destined Sons of the protagonist group of the original work. Of course, one exception is those ancient monsters that only appear once every thousand years in the backstory.

A feat like 'slaughtering a city' has only been accomplished by a handful of people throughout the history of the entire continent. This does not include accidents such as out-of-control magic and failed experiments.

But with this system based on 'The Witcher' video game, Lann has the ability to overwhelm everything with sheer personal strength.

Not to mention anything else, just with the physical improvement brought by each upgrade, Lann estimated that by the time he reached level 20 or 30, he would be able to use his human body to overwhelm monster races such as giants that could face the army head-on.

It's a shame that most of the panel skills cannot be upgraded. After all, the system is based on witchers, and this is also the world of witchers. Lann estimates that he will have to wait until he becomes a Witcher before he can better use the system.

You should know that after transforming into a Witcher, a human body that is not born with a Source can produce magical power. The body's immune system and endocrine system will be reorganized and become inhuman, gain amazing poison tolerance, and withstand excessive amounts of adrenaline.

Lann thought that this was also the reason why all of his [Signs] and most of his [Alchemy] skills could not be upgraded. At the same time, all skills related to [Adrenaline] cannot be upgraded.

However, I can add points to [Brewing] in [Alchemy], which has skills to improve the body's poison resistance, and [Basic Skills] also have skills to increase poison resistance and adrenaline.

Lann thinks that these skills can be added because his current body can resist it. When the body resists the poison, adrenaline secretion increases and the body can adapt, he may be able to unlock most of the skills even if he does not become a Witcher.

As for the [Sign] series... maybe just awaken your talent [Elder Blood]? After all, the magic power attached to [Elder Blood] is infinitely stronger than that of a Witcher.

However, either of these two methods consume too many skill points, the cycle is too long, or I don't know if they will work.

For Lann now, if he wants to quickly increase his strength to the point where he can overwhelm everyone and can protect himself from the dangers ahead. The most convenient way is to become a Witcher!

As for why the [Follower] column is unavailable now, Lann thought that this target is probably the mount system in the game. As long as you blow a whistle, your horse can come over thousands of mountains and rivers no matter where it is.

This is very magical, and it is indeed not a function that normal humans can have.

With his thoughts pulled back, Lann finally finished his work. He looked at the servant who was wiping the remaining spices on his hands, thought for a while and asked:

"Hardy, are you willing to be my 'Follower'?"

"Master, you are talking nonsense again. I have always been your 'follower'."

There is no movement in the [Follower] column of the panel.

Damn, it seems that [Follower] can't be unlocked this way.

The young servant turned around and picked up Lann's palace coat. After hearing this question, he didn't take it to heart at all and just answered casually. Since a year ago, the young master has sometimes started to say some incomprehensible things, and he has long been used to it.

Lann shrugged. Hardy definitely didn't understand what he meant, and he didn't expect the other party to understand. Just having fun once in a while is really a way to spice up your life. Anyway, it's a moment of relaxation.

He cooperatively opened his arms and put them into the sleeves of his palace coat and raised his shoulders slightly to put on the clothes. Hardy then went around to the front to help him fasten the buttons.

This aristocratic behavior of not even wearing his own clothes made Lann hate him when he first transmigrated, but now he has gradually adapted to it. Damn corrupting feudalism.

Anyway, Lann has to cooperate with these servants. For one thing, Lann knows nothing about aristocratic etiquette and other things. He can't even put on some of the complicated outfits, jewelry, etc. He can't run around naked just to not allow himself to be fully attended to by his servants, right?

That was also the first time Lann knew that there were clothes for different occasions and in fact there was a book thicker than his fist on aristocratic dress.

On the other hand, if Lann refuses these services from the young servant, he will be punished by the steward, which even Lann cannot stop.

"Hardy, pay attention to the tone when you talk to the young master!" A serious-looking old man approached from the other side of the door while scolding the servant. His clothes were almost the most rigorous and meticulous in the entire castle. When he was upright, even the top and bottom buttons were tilted at exactly the same angle. Lann even suspected that each of his beards was trimmed to the same length.

This old man was a servant who followed Queen Calanthe. He later served Lann's father. After Lann's father died, he became the family's housekeeper and will serve as his guardian until Lann grows up. Lann received a lot of care from him when he first transmigrated.

"It's okay, Enns." Lann excused the young servant. The butler in front of him was good at everything, but his sense of hierarchy was extremely serious. Lann, who had just transmigrated and received a lot of care, initially called him "Grandpa Enns." It seemed intimate, but the butler was deeply moved and seriously rejected the title.

It can only be said that there is no elder-younger concept in Lann's hometown on this continent. It can only be said that the master-servant hierarchy of this world is deeply rooted.

After being scolded by the old man, Hardy turned around to hide, then pursed his lips and immediately resumed his insolent look.

All this was seen by Lan, who was looking in the mirror.

Smiling carelessly, Lann looked at the young man in the mirror. His shoulder-length blonde hair was combed back, fully showing off his facial features.

Although Hardy's personality is still a little off, he is meticulous in his work.

The old butler Enns stepped forward and looked at Lann with satisfaction and joy. He took out a gold lion head brooch from the box he had been holding and pinned it on Lann's chest.

"This is the Master's brooch. The Master ordered me to make this brooch before he was knighted. The master wore this brooch and became the Queen's knight. Now, it is yours."

"Father..." Lann read the name of the father of the original body. "Lannister. The origin of the Leon family."

"Yes, yes." The old housekeeper wiped his eyes, "After Her Majesty the Queen was called a 'lioness', the master has been pursuing the title of 'lion', you know..."

"To follow in the Queen's footsteps." Lann whispered.
