After the group's comments, silence fell again at the table. Lucca pondered the critique from the teacher, focusing particularly on improving his skills. With the system map, he could perform Scout without moving, but he acknowledged the need to be more proactive during battles, balancing attention to the map while assisting his teammates.
As Lucca's group left the dining hall, they headed to the gender-segregated dormitories. Upon arrival, Lucca was surprised to see several students lying on their beds, some with injuries in various parts of their bodies. The sight caught him off guard, witnessing a significant number of injured classmates.
Choosing the bed at the end of the room, Lucca simply sat down and took a deep breath, clearly expressing his fatigue. Shortly after, a fellow student from the row of beds in front, just two beds away, spoke up.
"It seems like you guys had much more luck than we did!" remarked the student, wearing a white band on his chest as he pointed to others in similar situations. Of medium height, with contemporary brown hair and dressed in the academy uniform, he displayed a curious gaze and an animated smile, showcasing enthusiasm for learning. His relaxed posture suggested a mix of confidence and a subtle hint of sadness.
"What happened to you?" Lucca inquired, pointing to the student's arm to understand the circumstances behind his injuries.
"It was a yeti!" he revealed, raising his arm as he spoke, but as he did so, a twinge of pain made him exclaim, "ouch, I overdid it!"
Lucca was surprised to learn that yetis exist; he leaned his head back in astonishment, but quickly regained his composure. He thought to himself: 'This is a world of magic after all; I must be prepared to encounter various mythological creatures throughout my new life!' Lucca still having the mindset of a human on Earth, where yetis are myths, his initial reaction was one of surprise. He asked, curious, "Is it a minor injury, or will it take a while to heal?"
"The healers told me it was just a simple dislocation. They gave me the treatment and assured me that I'll be good as new tomorrow, so I'm quite relaxed about it," he said in a calm tone, expressing confidence in his recovery.
The conversation continued for a while, delving into the details of the encounter with the yeti. The student described the fight, recounting the events from start to finish, emphasizing that unfortunately, they only managed to kill the yeti and had to return to the fortress to heal the group. It wasn't
After concluding his story, he turned the conversation to Lucca's group, asking how their experience went. Lucca, typically reserved about his life, hesitated initially. However, Ori insisted that he socialize more with people outside his group, suggesting that he might find allies to challenge his father's position.
Nolan's response to the student's question, encouraging Lucca to share more about their experience, left Lucca pleasantly surprised by the openness Nolan displayed towards the other student.
The next day, Lucca woke up at the usual time for dungeon excursions and saw that Nolan was also getting ready. They went to the cafeteria for breakfast, finding the girls already there. Lucca looked around and noticed that someone was missing: her.
With the group gathered, as soon as they finished breakfast, they headed to the field. Lucca led the way, and together they reached their prey. Taking the professor's advice seriously, the group carefully analyzed the surroundings of the level 46 troll after a successful Scout. Upon hearing the group's observations, they decided it was a good spot for the hunt.
Thus began the troll hunt, rated at level 46. This time, Lucca remained attentive to the map, glancing occasionally to avoid a repeat of the previous day's events. The battle continued, and the troll was no match for the group's skill.
{You killed a level 46 troll.}
"Was this the only one where I felt like we took less time?" Ana commented with the group, trying to uplift them. She sensed they were somewhat paranoid due to the events of the previous day, constantly looking around.
They continued, hunting two level 47 beetles, but as their mana and stamina started to run low, they decided to return to the fortress. Upon entering, they saw several groups leaving the cafeteria, many surprised to encounter a group that had already finished their hunt by 8 a.m.
They submitted the bodies and found they once again received 3 points each. Alice, disappointed, questioned the person in charge of the records.
"3 points again? How do we manage to get 4 points?" she asked, with an irritated expression, as she really wanted to win the camp, and earning 4 points would be a significant step towards taking the lead.
Upon hearing Alice's question, he replied, "Maybe you need to increase the level of your prey! I can't reveal more."
Alice simply accepted the answer and left the counter, heading back to the group. "Okay, we didn't get the 4 points I wanted," she took a deep breath and continued, "I want to see if we increase hunting from level 48 onwards, the points will increase!" Alice decided.
Everyone in the group nodded, agreeing with Alice's decision.
