Chapter 19 - Getting to Know the Academy

Once he realized the teleportation had worked, he opened his eyes and was left in awe of the first thing he saw. However, he quickly regained his composure, stepped off the platform, and said to William, "What a beautiful and massive palace."

"The former palace of the royal family," William replied.

"So, where do we need to go?" Lucca asked.

"Those are the people who arrived before us, and there's someone from the academy. Let's join them," William said.

"How do you know they're from the academy?" Lucca inquired.

"Because of the emblem," William replied.

They approached the group, and the person with the emblem noticed two more individuals joining. She asked, "Are you also going to the academy?" She was a woman with honey-blond hair and dark green eyes.

"Yes, we are. How much longer until we leave?" Lucca asked.

"We'll wait a bit longer to see if anyone else is coming with us to the academy," she replied.

"Okay, thank you for the information," Lucca said.

"Anyone interesting here, or have you lost your talent for spotting people's abilities?" William teased.

"Don't worry, I still have it, but there's no one interesting here," Lucca replied.

"What's the highest talent level?"

"good..."

"What a disappointment!" William chuckled.

Lucca smiled, but then the academy representative finally spoke, "Well, I think we've waited long enough. Let's move on. Say your goodbyes to your bodyguard and head for the academy."

"It seems the time has finally come. Any plans for while I'm at the academy?" Lucca asked.

"I'll keep increasing my Rank," William replied.

"Right. Don't leave the capital until I give you something!"

"How long will that take?"

"I'm not sure yet, but I'll try to be as quick as possible."

"Alright, just don't take too long. I want to raise my Rank!"

Lucca bid farewell to William and joined the group. To his surprise, they left the capital and ventured into a forest outside the city, walking for about 20 minutes along a dirt road. They arrived at a checkpoint, beyond which stood a building.

"We've arrived, and you need to state your names and show your coins to those people, among other things, To confirm that it's really you." the guide explained, pointing towards the individuals at the checkpoint.

The group took about 10 minutes to answer all the questions from the checkpoint personnel before moving on.

"Now, I'll give you a tour to ensure you don't get lost here," the guide said.

The tour began, and after passing through the checkpoint, As they crossed the garden, the grandeur of the main building of the academy unfolded before them. The facade was flanked by columns of white marble, supporting a majestic arch displaying the academy's name. They climbed a set of stairs and entered the building to find a large hall with a mahogany reception desk at its center. The guide explained that the reception desk served as the hub for information, where new students received guidance. On either side, there were impressive marble staircases leading to the second floor. Both sides of the hall had two doors, leading to corridors. At the front of the entrance hall, there was another door. When Lucca glanced outside, he could only see a tower.

The guide turned to the left, and they walked down a wide marble corridor that accommodated multiple groups of students. They passed several classrooms, which appeared similar to those on Earth. The only difference was that the students' seating arrangements were amphitheater-style, with ascending rows resembling a staircase, and a podium for the professor with a chalkboard.

Soon, they reached the end of the corridor and a large open door that led to a cafeteria. The cafeteria had a spherical shape with a high ceiling, large windows, and long wooden tables with benches over a marble floor.

They returned to the entrance hall and proceeded through the door Lucca had noticed earlier. As they exited, they encountered something unexpected. The building they were in formed a square around a central tower, reminiscent of Lucca's past life, similar to the Pentagon. In the open space within this square, there were other structures and features, such as an arena and a training field, emphasizing the academy's unique design. They left the building and began walking in the open space. The first thing they came across was an arena. Next to the arena stretched a training ground where students could practice their magic or engage in swordplay. They continued towards the main tower and entered to find an enormous library, leaving no doubt about what kind of books one could find there. Adjacent to the main tower was a smaller one. The guide explained that it was a gravity tower where gravity increased the higher you went.

"Now that we've completed our tour, let's head to the academy's dormitories," the guide said.

They followed the guide to the left, facing the academy. After exiting on the other side, they followed the dirt road. As they arrived, a person was there to greet them, and the guide said, "He's the one who will provide you with your room keys and inform you of your dormitory's location. Tomorrow, your classes will begin, but first, you'll have your orientation day, during which the academy's owner will address you. With this, your day is concluded. I wish you all good luck, and I hope you'll become prodigies. See you at the academy!" She bid farewell with a smile.

"Thank you, Ella!" one of the students in the group said.

Hearing the name of the guide, everyone followed suit.

After the farewells, everyone turned their attention to the person at the dormitory reception.
