"Now that we're all here, can you tell us which Classes you want to choose?" asked alice
Nolan responded, "Why do we have to tell you?"
"Seriously, you don't know that?" alice said. "Because we are a group from now on."
Lucca inquired, "Why?"
Alice explained, "Well, it's a rule of the academy. If you share a room with someone, you automatically become a group with them. No matter what you do, all the academy assessments will be done together."
Ana interjected, "If we're doing academy assessments together, it doesn't make sense to go into a dungeon with a different group of people. How can we build combat chemistry together without having experience together?"
"Dungeon?" Lucca asked, puzzled.
"Even I know that," Nolan said.
Lucca was surprised by Nolan's comment, but Alice explained, "They call it the Beginning Dungeon because you can't die in there. If you die, you're revived outside the Dungeon, and there are no mobs inside (Rank 1). Do you understand?"
"In essence, it's nearly impossible to leave here with Rank 1! Lucca said
With luck, you'll leave here still lacking 10 or 15 levels to advance to Rank 1," added ivy.
Lucca prompted, "Say what you were going to say before you got interrupted!"
Alice asked, "What was I saying before?"
Ana replied, "The Classes."
"Oh, right. Now tell me your Classes. I'll be the first to reveal mine: I want the Swordsman Class," Alice said.
Lucca responded, "Mage."
ivy stated, "I'm not entirely sure yet, but I'll probably go for something related to the Warrior's Class."
Everyone stared at Nolan, and he realized it, saying, "Assassin."
Only one person remained. Ana said, "I want the Archer Class."
Alice pondered for a moment and said, "We have a problem. We don't have anyone for support or to be a tank. We only have damage!"
"Don't be a buzzkill. Let's see how it works in practice, and then we'll draw our conclusions," Ana suggested.
After about an hour, it was time for dinner. They headed to the cafeteria, and once they had finished eating, they returned to their room. They got to know each other a bit better and eventually fell asleep.
The next day, they all woke up, put on their uniforms, and Lucca was the first to leave the room. He noticed that many students were already out of their rooms, chatting and getting to know new people. Shortly after, Alice emerged from the room, and Lucca asked:
"Are they ready?"
"Just Ana is missing, as usual!"
"You seem to be very close."
"We are. We spent our childhood together."
Before they could continue the conversation, the door opened, and Ana came out, saying, "Shall we?"
They left the dormitory and entered the building, making their way to the auditorium where the academy's presentation would take place. Inside, the auditorium was a spacious circular space with a domed ceiling, and the seats were made of carved wood in a semicircular arrangement around the central stage.
Lucca and his group took seats near the back rows. Alice sat next to Lucca, and he took the opportunity to whisper to her:
"Do you have any information about the presentation?"
She whispered back, "All I remember is that the academy owner will speak, and some representatives from sects, guilds, and the military will also give speeches. I'm not sure about the details."
"Okay, thanks!"
After about 15 minutes, all the students were seated, and the auditorium was full, but no one had yet taken the stage. Another 10 minutes passed until finally, six people walked onto the stage. They arranged themselves with five behind and one in front, and the one in front began to speak:
"Good morning, everyone. For those who don't know me, my name is Samuel Smith, and I am the owner of the academy."
Lucca thought, 'Smith, that last name isn't unfamiliar.'
(Of course not; it's the same surname as your mother's teacher!)
'Holy shit! She didn't study the teaching method, or she simply discovered that education is used to manipulate us and make us their slaves. She was within the system, more precisely within the family that created it. Haha, quite a funny joke.'
Samuel continued, "Over 10,000 years ago, this academy was built. At that time, the most intellectual people of the era gathered and developed the teaching method you will undergo. From that point on, more talents were revealed, thanks to the talent development method. With the creation of this academy, we managed to advance the human race in an impressive way. I'll make a controversial statement: without the creation of this academy, we would have become vassals of other races."
The students began to voice their disapproval with boos upon hearing that they would become vassals of other races. However, Lucca couldn't contain his laughter and almost burst out laughing, but he managed to control himself.
'What a pathetic show,' Lucca thought.
Samuel continued, "Yeah, that's the spirit! Forget about other races; we are the most advanced and evolved race. However, for us to remain the most advanced race, the new generation needs to strive in their studies, pay attention in class, respect your teachers, and follow the academy's rules. If you follow these little rules, I have no doubt your talent will be developed by the academy. I believe I've spoken enough. Now, we will hear from the representatives of the military, guilds, and sects!"
So, the first representative to speak was from the military. He mentioned that after students finished their education, they should consider joining the army. He explained the importance of military service and how it could be the easiest path to becoming a hero of the human race. He went on to reveal some names of people who had distinguished themselves in recent wars, concluding his speech.
'Why didn't he mention raids? Well, my father told me they try to hide that! All for the sake of human evolution, right? Haha, what a joke!' Lucca couldn't help but smile lightly.
After the military representative finished, the others took their turns to speak, each addressing a different topic, but following the same formula.
The six individuals left the stage, and many students began to rise, thinking the event was over. Then, a woman walked onto the stage and spoke, "Please, be seated; I have some information to share with you all." The students who had stood up sat back down, and she continued, "In the Hall of Entry, you'll find a board with papers indicating your classes and schedules, along with other information. Tomorrow, we'll begin the recruitment week for joining a club. Don't worry; there are plenty of clubs to choose from."
A student from the audience asked, "Can we already go to the dungeon?"
She replied, "Not until you join a club! Now that I've provided all the necessary information, you can leave. Good luck with your classes starting tomorrow!"
With that, everyone began to exit the auditorium, and Lucca's group was among the last to leave.
