Chapter 13 - Half of the training completed.

Sophie watched Lucca's determined face as he grappled with the intricacies of fire magic. Her heart swelled with pride as her son worked tirelessly to master his newfound abilities.

"Don't be sad; you were so close," Sophie encouraged, offering a reassuring smile. "Creating a fireball is an impressive feat, especially for someone just beginning their magical journey. Magic is about control and finesse, and that takes time to develop."

Lucca nodded, his frustration fading. "I understand. I won't give up. I'll keep practicing until I can use fire magic properly."

"That's the spirit!" Sophie clapped him on the back. "Now, let's take it one step further. Close your eyes again and focus on the feelings of heat and destruction. Imagine the fireball in your hand, but this time, visualize it expanding, growing larger and more powerful."

Lucca took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and followed his mother's guidance. He could feel the intense heat and visualize the fireball growing in his palm. Slowly, he opened his eyes, and in his hand, there was a more substantial fireball, burning brighter and fiercer than before.

Sophie's eyes gleamed with pride. "Excellent, Lucca! Now, can you maintain it?"

Lucca concentrated intensely, willing the fireball to remain steady. It flickered but held. He felt a sense of triumph as he realized he could control the flames.

"Great job!" Sophie praised. "This is how you'll learn to wield your magic effectively. But remember, controlling magic is like taming a wild animal; it takes patience and practice."

Lucca continued to train, honing his skills and pushing the boundaries of what he could achieve with fire magic. The days turned into weeks and months, and he slowly became more proficient. He practiced forming fireballs, launching them accurately, and even learned to manipulate the size and intensity of the flames.

As his training progressed, Lucca felt a growing sense of accomplishment. He was beginning to master fire magic, but he knew there was much more to learn and explore in the world of elemental magic.

{You learned the skill "Fireball."}

"Now that you've managed to cast a fireball, you should have received a notification from the system, right?"

"Yes, Mom. Will you teach me more fire skills?"

"I can't."

"Why?"

"Because the system only allows you to learn the most basic skill of each element."

"So, how do I get more fire skills?"

"It depends on the Class you choose when you become Mortal 1."

"What do you mean?"

"If you choose the Fire Mage Class, you'll be able to select three skills from that Class."

"So, when I choose my Class, right after becoming Mortal 1, I can pick three skills from that Class?"

"That's right."

"And every time I Rank up, I select three skills?"

"No, you'll only choose three when you receive a Class or change your Class."

"When does that happen, in which Ranks?"

"At Mortal 1, Rank 1, and Rank 6."

"And when I Rank up to other Ranks, do I receive any skills?"

"Yes, but you'll only receive one."

"Let me see if I understand: at Mortal 1, Rank 1, and Rank 6, I get a Class and choose three skills from that Class. But in other Ranks, I choose one skill, which might not be related to my Class, is that it?"

"That's basically it! But enough talking; we have elements to learn!"

"Yes, Mom!"

Four years later, Lucca, now nine years old, was casting fireballs and lightning bolts at a large rock. Suddenly, a lightning bolt came toward him, but Lucca noticed it and teleported to the nearest shadow.

"ufa" Lucca breathed heavily. Suddenly, he heard the sound of applause.

Clap, clap, clap. "Congratulations, my son, but come here to your father; he'll teach you how to fight for real!"

Sophie rolled her eyes upon hearing what James said and replied, "Are you saying you'll teach him to fight for real when you're going to use an instructor to teach our son how to use aura?"

"Hey, a Duke's job is never-ending. Besides, I'll teach him, but only at the beginning. I can't be away for too long."

"Where are we going, Dad?" Lucca asked, trying to interrupt the discussion between his parents.

"We're going to the castle. I'll train you there. Well, I'll teach you the basics, and then an instructor will be with you to monitor your progress. Sometimes I'll check on your progress with my own eyes."

"Okay, Dad, but if we're going back home, is Mom coming too?" In the middle of his sentence, he looked at his mother and, at the end, at his father.

"Yes, she's coming too, ahaha!" James looked at Sophie and began to laugh.

"And are my siblings at home too?"

"They're not home right now."

"Where are they?"

"After graduating from the academy, Liam joined the army and is currently on the front lines. Sebastian is in a guild."

'Of course, a snake like him would never go to the front lines, and the psychopath, of course, would be on the front lines!'

Then, they climbed into the carriage and set off towards the Duke's castle!
