Chapter 27 - Field and dungeon

'It seems like the guilds managed to place someone in the academy as a scout to discover new talents! If the guilds succeeded, I wouldn't doubt that other forces in the realms did the same!'

"I know starting the first day of classes with theory might be boring as hell, but you guys need to know the minimum about the academy's dungeon!" said the teacher.

"So, in this class, We're going to mainly talk about the academy's dungeon. How to behave inside it, how to find your prey, and how the dungeon is organized! Now tell me, what is its environment?"

"Forest!" Ivy enthusiastically replied.

"Incredible how you change when the subject is battle or anything involving it! How do you reach that level of craziness?"Ana said.

"Shut up, you are annoying!" Ivy replied, irritated.

"Exactly, but next time, raise your hand!" The teacher said with an authoritative tone.

Right after, she started drawing on the board. While drawing, she asked, "Does anyone know what happens if you die inside the academy's dungeon?"

A student answered, "We lose the levels and status we gained while inside the dungeon."

"In other words, if you die, you lose everything you gained during the time you were inside! So, don't be greedy! Sometimes it's better to kill an animal or creature, leave the dungeon, and then re-enter!" The teacher summarized.

But a student said, "But that way, we lose a lot of time!"

"I understand perfectly! But you take more risks!" She had already finished drawing on the board and said, "This is the layout of the academy's dungeon!" The format is circular with four circles inside, creating four divisions within it. Each time you go further into the circle, the circles decrease in size.

The teacher continued, "In it, there are four divisions consisting of levels 0-50, 50-100, 100-150, 150-200, and as you may have noticed, the size of the region where the highest-level creatures are becomes progressively smaller. This also happens in the fields. Can anyone tell me the consequences of this?"

Lucca, with wide-open eyes in amazement, thought to himself, 'From the teacher's drawing, it looks like less than 15 creatures or animals can fit inside the 150-200 level circle! How many deaths must occur just to kill one? This is madness!'

"Disputes to see who hunts what! This often leads to deaths!" Arthur replied.

"That's right! I'll give you this advice for your future: don't try to hunt, for example, Rank 1 in a field of that rank! The chance of getting involved in hunting disputes and ending up dead is very high, so be careful!"

"But now let's talk about the difference between the dungeon and the fields. Usually, animals gather in groups and occupy territory, while creatures tend to roam alone. So, don't be surprised when you go to the fields and notice this difference!"

"Now that we've talked about the dungeon in general, let's start talking about how to follow tracks, knowing the locations where a certain type of creature or animal appears in a particular place."

The explanation took a while, and then they moved on to another topic: which creatures or animals the students would encounter inside the dungeon and how to deal with each one, knowing their weaknesses, their most frequent attacks, and so on.

"Oh, by the way, on Monday, your first camping trip starts, and it will last for a week!

"What are we going to do?" a student asked.

"You will have your first experience in a Rank 7 field!"

Everyone was alarmed when they heard it was a Rank 7 field, and they began talking loudly, "Oh my god," "Rank 7," "Seriously, Rank 7? Wouldn't a lower level be better?," "What if a Rank 7 leaves its region and starts attacking us?"

Chaos erupted in the classroom; everyone except Lucca's group and Ana spoke. "Do they really think their problem is a Rank 7 showing up seriously? You have to be very foolish! Why would a Rank 7 mob leave its territory just to kill some with nobody at mortal Rank 0?" She spoke in a reasonably loud tone, but with all the chaos in the room, they didn't even hear.

"If I were them, I would be more worried about the animals because if they clash with a considerable number, they might even lose a member's life!" Alice added.

"We have no way to learn how to deal with that because, as the teacher said, in the dungeon, animals don't stay together!" Lucca affirmed.

"Just kill them all!" Ivy commented, all excited about the news of spending a week outside the academy just hunting!

Elara let the students calm down on their own before continuing the explanation. After some time, the class realized that the teacher was just waiting to continue the explanation, and she said, "Now that you've calmed down, let me explain: a Rank 7 would never leave its territory just to kill you! When a mob is at this Rank level, they already have a certain level of intelligence, close to ours."

"And furthermore, look at the board, see the divisions?" The students nodded. "So, anyone from this section would never enter this territory. I can count on my fingers the times this has happened in history!" She drew an arrow from the second-largest territory to the largest.

With that, it's all for today. Be prepared because in a week, you will be fighting for your lives to level up!"
