As expected, the letter came. And, unlike in the comic, Katsuki and Mitsuki came over to open their letter as well. While both families were opening their letters, Argent was in the kitchen making food for 'whatever outcome it is'. So he says, even knowing that the both of them were going to be accepted, even before his interference and training. As he heard cheers coming from the side room, he pulled out a phone and sent a text to the principal, before turning back to cooking. Favorite food of all four of them, all cooking at the same time. With a ton of training, multitasking like this had become as easy as juggling for him. And, with the help of Inko, he's been a wizard in the kitchen ever since he started staying over. While waiting for the letters, he's mentioned to both families that he found a good paying job, and that it'll need him to stay at his work place. While they were sad to hear him leave, he told them that he'd still come over when invited, and he won't be that far away.
"Do you really need to leave, Cross-kun?" asked Mitsuki. "It's going to be really quiet when both you and the kids leave." She sighed.
"Yeah… it's been a long time coming, but I didn't have a reason to leave until now. With both Izuku and Katsuki staying in the UA dorms, I figured it was about time I left as well." Argent smiled at them. "Besides… It's not like I'm going to be gone forever. I'll still be around, and you can always just call if you need anything."
"Well… Alright… just promise to keep in touch?" Inko said, tearing up.
"Come on! I'm not going to be gone forever! Besides, I promise I'll keep in touch… Though considering how bad I am at calling people, I think you're going to end up calling more…" Argent grinned. The two mothers let out a small chuckle, while the kids just continued eating. "Also, I have a small surprise for these two." He said, messing up the hair of the two kids.
"Huh? What is it?" Izuku asked.
"You idiot. He just said it's a surprise." Katsuki said, without a hint of his normal venom.
"Right. You two hurry up and finish eating, and get your stuff ready to go to UA." Argent clapped his hand, "Knowing you, Izuku, I'm pretty sure you've already come up with your hero costume. So…" he turned to Katsuki. "Let's see yours."
"What? Why me? Why not start with Mossball?" he said, more confused than annoyed.
"Because he's shit at hiding his quirk. Super strength is good and all, but your Explosion quirk is too dangerous to just leave to any random outfit." Argent sighed. "You mess up, and blowing off your arm would be the least of your worries."
Katsuki stared for a moment before sighing. "Fine… after we eat."
------
"… I feel stupid…" Argent sighed, looking over at Nezu. Right now, he was wearing his 'Profession' outfit, or his 'Hero' outfit. Looking at where his skin should be visible, a black bodysuit could be seen prominently. "If it weren't for Villains, I'd never be caught dead wearing this… skin." He pulled it, stretching it slightly before letting go, snapping to his skin.
"Well, you're the one who didn't want his identity out and about." Nezu replied, taking a sip of his tea. "Still… You haven't mentioned what you'd like to be called in this outfit."
"… I have no fucking clue." He groaned. "The first thing that came to mind was Hecatoncheires, the thousand arm titan. But that's way too foreign. Asura came to mind later, but… I am neither religious, nor do I want to be a Destroyer. A play on my name is definitely out of the question."
"How about you just shorten it to Hecate?" Nezu asked.
"… Hecaton, then. I'm neither a goddess, nor am I using witchcraft." Argent slowly stood up. "So… I'll be heading to class 1-A, right?"
"Yup. You'll be the assistant teacher for 1-A, helping any other teacher in that class." Argent shot a look back at Nezu. "I said help, not teach in place of. Just do what you do best."
"… Fine. Anything I should know about?"
"Don't mess with the teachers. They're all heroes, so you'll get into a lot of trouble if you get on their bad side." Argent nodded to the statement, before leaving. Doing a slight jog, Argent quickly made his way to 1-A, just as he noticed a ridiculously tired teacher looking at him.
"Oh, you're that assistant." Eraserhead said, looking him up and down. "What's with the suit?"
"I like my privacy, and villains… and reporters, won't let me have that if they know who I am." Argent shrugged.
"… Fair." He replied, getting into a sleeping bag.
"… Want me to carry you?"
"Sure… put me down in front of the room." He yawned, as ethereal hands lifted him up. Walking down the corridor, Argent made his way to the room where he could hear everyone talking in the class. "Right." he said, before perking up slightly. "If you want to buddy up, do it somewhere else. This is the Heroics Department." He said, drinking a supplement.
Entering the room, he introduced himself to the class. "I'm your homeroom teacher, Aizawa Shouta. Pleasure meeting you." He said, while pulling out sport outfits. "Now, wear these and then shove off to the P.E. grounds."
"O… kay?" Izuku looked at the uniform for a moment, before noticing a figure waiting at the doorway. "Cross Sensei!?" Argent immediately facepalmed, or as close as possible with his full helm. "Is this the surprise!?"
"Listen to Aizawa Sensei and get changed." Argent replied. "I'll introduce myself later. For now, know that I'm your class' Assistant Teacher. I'll be helping all your teachers with anything to do with this class."
At the P.E. grounds, I arrived last to do a quick check of everything in the classroom. Some things could be better, some were at a point that I didn't know what to expand on. As he arrived at the P.E. grounds, they were doing their running test, just as both Izuku and Katsuki finished their run. "3.4 seconds." For Katsuki, "4.2 seconds." For Izuku. Argent sighed, knowing that they were slightly slower than normal. Did they gain weight? Were they holding back?
"Cross. I heard you taught these two before they entered UA. What do you think?" Aizawa said. The other students looked the way he was looking, noticing Argent was standing behind them.
"Either they're holding back, or they got fat." Argent sighed, before disappearing. "Pretty sure the last time I tested them, they managed the same time, but on sand. This is solid ground, they should be able to be faster."
"What?" one of the students, Kirishima looked back at Argent. "How did he get there?"
"I ran." Argent replied, pointing down. As he disappeared again, the dirt was indented, as his sudden acceleration had made a divot and a small bump. "Like this. Voila." He said, already behind the group again.
"Whoa! Is that your Quirk?" Ashido asked.
"No, he's just that fast." Katsuki said, sighing. The rest of the class looked at him in surprise, which meant that he's already shown everyone how brash he used to be. Which, in turn, was subdued when he's nearby me.
"That's the same speed as when he's on sand. So I think he can still go faster." Izuku said, stretching his legs after the run.
"Oh, that reminds me." Argent said, appearing in front of them. "Why were you slower?"
"We tried running with our quirks." The two said, before Izuku continued. "You kept teaching us to do things without our quirk, so when we used them, we got thrown off." Argent looked at the two, his surprised look hidden under his helm.
"… Right. Completely forgot about that…" he said, sighing. "Well, do your best. I mean, what's the worst that could happen?"
"Aizawa sensei said the one with the worst score would be expelled." Izuku said, which made Argent slowly turn to the homeroom teacher.
"… That's fair, I guess." He shrugged, to the surprise of the class. "It's not like everyone here should be here in the first place. Because the test was against robots, those with quirks that only effect biological things couldn't get as good of a score." A couple of the others realized what he meant, basically saying the entrance exam was unfair. "If this test was done before, I don't think a couple of the teachers would do very well." he said, looking over at Aizawa, who nodded.
"That's fair. Since my quirk removes other quirks, I wouldn't do as well against robots." He said, agreeing.
"Anyways…" Argent clapped his hands. "Back to the tests!" As the class continued their tests, Argent continued to watch and give some small hints on how to improve. How to run better, how to use more strength during the grip test, and many others. Though, he only gave them after the test and Aizawa denied them any chance to do the test again. Finally, at the throw test, Argent put an arm over Izuku's shoulder.
"Remember. Control is better than pure strength." He said quietly, before moving over to Katsuki. Stopping in front of him, Katsuki looked back at Argent, before both lifted a fist and bumped them. Not a word said, but none was needed. That small gesture was code for, 'Give them hell', that the two had come up with during their training.
As Katsuki went up again, though not for points this time, he condensed as much power he could, before launching the ball at such great speeds, it took only one second to be out of sight, with a point just shy of 1500. Izuku on the other hand, held the ball on one hand, and held his arm with the other, seemingly meditating. After a minute, he opened his eyes and threw as well, though failing to completely control his quirk, launching the ball and gaining 1000 points. In the end, he still injured his finger, just like how he hurt his arm attacking the 0 pointer at the entrance exam, though it was because he didn't use enough power at first, followed by the robot being way tougher than initially thought.
'Wait… are his injuries going to happen regardless?' Argent thought, taking a look at the finger. "Well, you're going to need to go the nurse. If you keep this up, your body's going to be completely destroyed." Argent said, a tinge of anger clear in his voice for his two students.
"Sorry…" Izuku said, cradling his finger. "I'm not used to my quirk yet." He said the second part quietly, only letting his teacher hear.
"That's fine. But if you keep doing this, I'm going to tell your mother, and have her pull you out of UA." Izuku looked up in shock, freezing at the reflection on his helm. "Look. I didn't offer to help you just to watch you kill yourself. A hero may be a person who risks their lives to save others, but… You're just a kid. Nobody's asking you to die just so others can live." Patting his shoulder, he pushed him towards the nurse's office. "Right now, the most important thing you can do is learn your power, learn how to control it, and find your limits. Then, you can figure out how to use your power, improve your control, and break through your limits."
"I… Alright." Izuku nodded, heading to the nurse's office. Turning around, Argent noticed the rest of the class looking at him.
"Uh… what?"
"Is it true that you're an assistant teacher for our class?" a voice asked, without any of the students opening their mouths.
"Who- oh, right. Hagakure Toru." Argent tapped his helm. "Yes, that's true. Though I assume it's because I don't have a teaching license, and my resume consists of the two highest scoring students from the previous test." Hearing that, the class looked in surprise, and began swarming him with questions.
"No, this suit if for privacy. My two students know what I look like.", "Of course I work out. I don't get these muscles without training.", "I guess working out and cooking are my hobbies?", "Minoru, if you ask something like that again, I'm going to toss you into the nearest body of water.", "I taught them CQC and Combat Analysis, on top of physical training.", He said to the group, glancing over at Eraserhead, noticing him just staring back. With a sigh, he lifted both hands, causing the class to pause for a moment, then jumped as his clap seemed to echo in their ears. "Your Homeroom Teacher is still here. Focus."
"Oh, our apologies." Said the student with engines in his legs.
"Anyways… As I was about to say, The expulsion thing was a joke." Aizawa said. "It was just to make sure you did your best. Though, after listening to what Cross has to say, It seems there are many things you could improve on, even without the need for training first. That's enough for today. Head back to the classroom, and you can go home for today." The class began to leave, as Aizawa and Argent stayed and watched them leave.
"I'll see you tomorrow, Cross." Aizawa said, before walking over to where All Might was standing. With a chuckle, Argent disappeared from where he stood and stopped just in front of the entrance of the building, wiping his shoes, before disappearing inside.
'Well… that was… uneventful.' Argent thought, entering the 1-A classroom. 'Izuku broke his finger, Katsuki isn't as angry with everything, both did surprisingly well in the test… Now what?' he let out a sigh.
"Argent-sensei? Something wrong?" Argent turned around, looking at a familiar pale blonde.
"Nothing much. Just can't help but feel like I forgot something." He replied. "Also… I'm slightly disappointed that you two immediately noticed me when I entered the room. And that neither of you were surprised."
"To be fair, you're pretty noticeable." He shrugged. "Your size, body build, and even the way you stood were screaming out who you were." He said, surprisingly calmly.
"You can talk normally?" The class' lightning kid spoke in surprise, causing Katsuki to snap to him and begin yelling.
"You said you taught both Midoriya and Bakugo, right?" a black haired girl asked, looking up at Argent. "Are you going to teach us like those two?"
"Probably not as intense, but… Most likely." Argent replied. "Momo Yaoyorozu, correct?"
"That's right. Can you tell us what to expect first? So we have time to prepare?" She gestured to the rest of the class, minus the two fighting each other.
"Well… I need to figure out your basics first. And no, that test tells me nothing about what you can do." Argent sighed. "That's just your physical abilities. I need to figure out what you can do in a fight. But, I guess it can wait until after your first Foundational Hero class."
"Until then, just work out more than you already do." Katsuki said, looking at the group. "If you don't, then you'll be on the floor begging for mercy." The rest of the class looked at him in confusion.
"Kacchan could have put it better, but he's right." Izuku said, walking up the corridor. "While we were training, we had to do a lot of things while doing physical exercise. He had us answer questions from our textbooks while doing rigorous exercise." Hearing that, several of the students turned pale.
"Honestly, I prefer our sparring sessions." Katsuki said. "At least during those, we don't have to worry about our academics."
"You do sparring?" The redhead of the class asked.
"Not sure how we're going to do it with the whole class, but that's right." Argent said, looking at the student. "… Eijiro Kirishima."
"You said that you trained them to do things without quirks. Are you going to train us as quirkless?" The frog girl asked.
"I'd prefer that. If you run into somebody like Eraserhead on the enemy's side, you need to know how to fight without your powers. Tsuyu Asui."
"Cross Sensei! Is there a reason you repeat our names after answering?" The engine student asked.
"Because I'm bad with names and people, Tenya Ida." Argent replied. "I remember every single face I've seen, what they were doing, what they were wearing… but the second you ask me the names of people that have introduced themselves to me, you're more likely to get an answer by searching their pockets."
"I see. Thank you for your attempt on improvement!" he said, somehow feeling like he's dissing Argent.
"… Alright. Aizawa Sensei already told you to head back. So don't go off on your own, and head back without causing a problem." Argent sighed, shooing them away.
As the class left, Argent sat alone in the classroom, pulling out a small notepad. 'So… he still ended up getting hurt. He has some control, but not that great yet.' He thought, scribbling randomly. 'Main issue, he needs to learn his powers first. Then, find him a fighting style that fits his power set. Katsuki is all set, but I'm not sure about Izuku…' he looked down, before tearing out the page he scribbled on. '… I need to burn this… this just looks eldritch…'
