It took some time for the things at the base to return to normal. A lot needed to be done, and the absence of a vice leader threw everyone into a loop.
Thankfully, Chief Atlanta's strict and swift actions brought the place under control soon enough. But most people were still tired after the long-fought battle.
"Finally, we can finally head back home. It was a long journey, and I am bone tired. I want to lie in bed and sleep for a whole week."
Emily commented as she stretched her body. She was finally over what happened to Maria and accepted her decision.
She was not happy, but she understood where Maria was coming from. Besides, she had wanted Maria to overcome the rift somehow, which was as good as she would get.
"You want to hurry up and head back home? I don't want to head back home. Just thinking about all the assignments and work we must do because we skipped classes… makes me shudder."
