"Master, you have chatted enough. We need to head back before the higher-ups of the government decide to visit you."
The leader of the scavengers reminded Lea while sighing. She looked tired, and there was also a hint of annoyance in her eyes. But the government-owned her and the medicine she needed to survive.
Many of the scavengers created to keep balance and save humanity had deficiencies that caused them to be medicine dependent.
That was one of the ways the government kept these people in check. And so far, it had worked in the government's favour.
"Sure. If you want to capture me, then go right ahead. I will not protest or struggle against you."
Lea held her arms out and waited to be cuffed. The scavenger leader was suspicious of her good behaviour, but she closed the cuffs around Lea's arm and tugged at her.
"Hey, be careful. Just because Lea is sturdy does not mean you get to bully her like this. Be mindful of her."
