After a long day, I lay down on Silas's bed as he read through a journal, studying each and every single detail. Slowly, I sat myself up with a wall of pillows behind my back and took out a roll of stiff brown paper.
"At least open the windows," Calix clicked his tongue before getting up from the sofa couch and making his way over to the window, instantly cracking it open with a displeased expression.
"I was going to, asshole," Marlene smirked back before rolling up her blunt.
Marlene swiftly pulled out a silver lighter and lit the end of her blunt, inhaling deeply as smoke curled around her. A hazy cocoon enveloped her senses, the earthy, sour scent mingling with the cool breeze from the cracked window. With each exhale, fragrant plumes danced lazily in the air, creating a momentary escape from the day's grind.
