Chapter 11 - Chapter 10: Second Graders Delivering School Credits

Upon hearing Long Yi's words, the instructor actually started to favor this strapping young man.

A Dragon Knight should indeed have such pride in their bones!

The trio heard Long Yi's words, neither angry nor bothered, just scoffed, then turned to the instructor, "We want to challenge this junior Long Yi and junior Arin, please approve, instructor."

The instructor remained silent, simply turning his gaze towards Long Yi.

Long Yi chuckled, grinned and asked, "Can I beat them to death?"

A twitch tugged at the corner of the instructor's eye, observing a hint of excitement concealed in Long Yi's eyes! This kid, was he seriously considering beating them to death?

"A friendly competition between classmates, stop once a point is made! No harming lives!"

Long Yi didn't say anything further, just let go of the hand that was holding everyone back. The chubby boy immediately fell flat on the ground with a thud, and the skinny boy swayed, barely managing to remain standing.

At this moment, all the classes at the training ground halted. All the instructors ordered the newcomers to turn towards the direction of the Air Force class. Combat was the only thing to learn here, and the benefit of observing fights at any time and place certainly did no harm to their studies.

Long Yi took two steps back, flexed his arms, and then hooked a finger at the three in front of him: "Come at me all at once, don't waste lunchtime."

The trio shared a glance and almost simultaneously burst into laughter.

"Brave kid," one of them stepped forward, assumed a fighting stance, and his Dragon Fighting Aura exploded.

"Remember, my name's Luo Qi, ranked third in the second year of the Air Force, and I'm gonna knock you out!"

Before the words could fall, a punch was already hurled.

"Fifth level Fighting Aura!"

Arin exclaimed, surprised that a mere second year had already attained the fifth level Dragon Fighting Aura. The one named Luo Qi who could rank third in the second year of the Air Force naturally had his own strength!

The instructor on the side also nodded in approval. Luo Qi had proven himself to be extremely promising when he first entered the school. He was one of the last four standing during the same training in the previous year. Furthermore, his combat style was extremely fierce. Although lacking a bit of the ruthlessness of the battlefield, he was highly exceptional amongst his peers.

Comparatively, Long Yi seemed a lot more casual. Watching Luo Qi attack, he simply sidestepped slightly and lashed out with a powerful kick. But there was no Dragon Fighting Aura erupting from him.

"Long Yi!"

Arin screamed. In his opinion, although Long Yi was physically strong - no, incredibly strong, physical strength certainly couldn't compare with Fighting Aura. Regardless of how well-trained a person's body was, it could never match up with Fighting Aura!

"Idiot!"

Watching Long Yi's movements, the chubby boy cursed silently. Though he didn't particularly like Long Yi, he disliked the second year even more. Comparatively, he would rather see Long Yi win.

But was Long Yi simple-minded?

However, in the next moment, the Dragon Fighting Aura on Long Yi's body burst out instantly. With a bang, Long Yi's kick landed directly on Luo Qi's shoulder. The Dragon Fighting Auras collided, creating a substantial shock wave that made everyone's clothes flutter and the fierce wind forced those nearby to squint their eyes.

"Hahaha, kid, now you know how fierce the second year is - huh?"

Two of Luo Qi's companions were just halfway through speaking when they saw Luo Qi being flung far away, landing on the grass. Long Yi, on the other hand, slowly withdrew his foot, smiled at the two of them, and surprisingly charged towards them!

"Damn it!"

Both of them elevated their Fighting Aura to the fourth level, attacking from both sides, attempting to subdue Long Yi. Who would've known that Long Yi clenches his fists, Dragon Fighting Aura instantly burst out again, and his fists hit both of them in the chest at the same time, this time directly sending both flying!

Everyone froze in silence.

Long Yi pulled back his hand, stood for a while, then suddenly squatted down, vigorously rubbing his foot back, hissing as he inhaled cold air, and mumbling.

"This idiot's Fighting Aura is pretty fierce, it made my foot hurt."

Long Yi was telling the truth, his foot hurt from the shock of the opponent's Dragon Fighting Aura, though it wasn't severe.

In the training ground, everyone was quietly watching Long Yi. This newcomer, who just arrived at the Dragon Knight Academy, had, with a domineering attitude, instantaneously obliterated three second-year seniors.

"Second-year challenge failed, Long Yi gains six points! Six points deducted from each second-year challenger! Dismiss!"

The instructor's voice rang out, a "+6" instantly flashed on Long Yi's wristband and disappeared. Meanwhile, on the wristband of the three second years, a "-6" flashed.

Long Yi chuckled casually, still looking harmless. He turned and waved at Bajie not far away. It was just past eleven now, but it was time for lunch. He was already hungry!

As Bajie ran, he couldn't help but glance back longingly at the group of little dragons that had just been beside him.

They smell so good, I really want to take a taste.

Thud!

The Dragon Rider raised his fist and landed a punch on Bajie's head.

"No eating randomly!"

Long Yi admonished, and Bajie instantly held his head, nodding as a sign that he understood.

"Let's go, Arin, shall we go grab something to eat?"

Long Yi felt a bit hungry himself and guessed that Bajie must be famished by now, the timing could not be any more perfect!

"Oh! Sure!"

A baffled Arin just started to agree when a Mercury Dragon nearby spread its wings and, turning into a streak of silver light, flew to Arin's side.

"Boss, boss! I'm coming with you!"

However, it was Wesley who spoke up!

"Who's your boss? What are you blabbing about?"

The fatty barked discontentedly.

"Among all of us newcomers, who else could be the boss if not Brother Long, right, Brother Long?"

Wesley also scampered over, moving in much the same way as Bajie. Not far off, a small dragon with a large head also flew over.

This dragon was lean in shape, and its wings were covered with fine fur. The pair of eyes occupied a considerable space on its head, and oddly enough, it also had a pair of ears that could move flexibly.

An Observation Dragon?

Such an obscure Dragon Knight exists too?

Long Yi was quite intrigued.

An Observation Dragon, as the name suggests, excels in seeing and hearing. As per the data provided by the Dragon Clan, an Observation Dragon's physical strength is not very strong, but an adult one can read the contents of a letter in your hand from a kilometer away without any aid and can also hear whispers from that distance. And the Observation Dragon has some unique talents that further enhance this ability.

It seems to have strategic significance, but for the brawny Dragon Knights, spotting an enemy miles ahead doesn't make much difference from not spotting him. The combat of Dragon Knights eventually turns into close combat.

So, over the years, there has never been such a weak Observation Dragon in the Dragon Rider Legion.

Even though Long Yi was curious, he didn't bother prying too much. After all, everyone has their set of ambitions, who cares how they want to battle?

Moreover, Long Yi had piloted an electronic warfare aircraft in the past. That thing had barely any weapons apart from machine guns, yet, he managed to shoot down a boastful fighter aircraft with a machine gun, right?

"Brother Long, I know of quite a few well-known snack shops outside the academy. Even though they don't have any famous chefs, the food there tastes authentic. Most importantly, the amount is generous. How about we go try it out together?"

Wesley said with a giggly tone.

"You've been really thorough with your homework, is there anything you don't know?" Long Yi asked, grinning.

"I've spent an entire month specifically collecting this information! When you're out and about, it's logically best to know everything beforehand. Moreover, this Dragon Knight Academy is a den of talent, and a random sneeze might offend some prince or noble offspring, which would be really annoying."

Wesley spoke earnestly.

"Makes sense!" Long Yi genuinely thought that Wesley had a point. In his era, when the war resources of both sides were almost the same, the central aspect of the war was the asymmetry of information. The intelligence department was consuming funds almost equal to the front line. Launching satellites was just like setting off firecrackers.

"Brother Long, do you really think I make sense?" Hearing this from Long Yi, Wesley was taken aback. He scrutinized Long Yi's eyes carefully, trying to catch a hint of perfunctory, but how could Long Yi be insincere? He genuinely agreed.

"Brother Long, after all these years, you are the first one to support me! From today onward, you're my real brother!"

Long Yi laughed. This boy named Wesley was quite entertaining. It was rare to see someone claiming him as the boss in such an explicit and righteous manner. However, as for what Wesley was truly thinking, Long Yi had no clue.

Of course, he couldn't be bothered to guess. Machinations and intrigues, those were the affairs of the intelligence department, and he was a warrior, his only concern was slaughtering the enemy!
