Chereads / Zoo system : Chronicles of a Safari Adventure / Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Creation

Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Creation

"The system's construction function is similar to that of a game. You can modify the terrain, build venues, plant trees, and more freely on the sand table.

Fang Ye's heart raced: "Awesome!"

Doesn't this mean he can bring his dream zoo to life instantly?

After careful consideration, Fang Ye tugged at the corner of his mouth and realized he might be getting ahead of himself.

While the system is user-friendly, it doesn't mean he can transform the zoo at will; there are certain restrictions.

All construction and modifications require Luyecoins, represented by a refreshing green leaf icon on a clean white background. Luyecoins are the in-game currency and are earned through animal conservation. Animals purchased with money cannot be resold, preventing potential controversies around buying and selling animals.

During construction, the more elaborate the modification, the more Luyecoins it consumes. For instance, transforming a concrete floor into a grassy lawn costs only 10 Luyecoins. However, turning that lawn into a small pond would require 100 Luyecoins. Creating a towering cliff with rushing waterfalls might cost a million green leaf coins!

Of course, people with common sense wouldn't do that. It's like building a mountain out of a molehill, and authorities would intervene in due time.

At the start of the game, you receive initial capital, and the Zoo Star system is no exception. Newbie construction funds amount to 10,000 green leaf coins, a fortunate beginning.

Fang Ye decided to build a tiger pavilion first. A tiger pavilion that's just 10x20? That's inadequate. Tigers need space to roam comfortably, so it should be at least 50x50.

Though Linhai Zoo currently only has one tiger, Fang Ye didn't want to limit himself to the minimum standard. He was thinking ahead, realizing that as the zoo attracts more visitors in the future, making changes would be cumbersome.

A 50x50 pavilion was already a modest requirement. If possible, Fang Ye wanted to go big, even if it sounded a bit extravagant.

He thought aloud, "Well, let's spread the grass here. One square meter of grass for only 1 green leaf coin is practically a steal. Let's add a pond and plant some trees... The cost of this zoo is much higher than in the game."

Fang Ye examined the construction list and estimated the funds required to build an exhibition hall. After a while, he concluded that 10,000 green leaf coins might suffice for a small venue, but a large tiger pavilion would require far more.

Within the construction menu, the less expensive items included natural environment decorations like lawns, trees, and stones. A fully grown tree, even precious ones like ginkgo, only cost up to 200 green leaf coins. In contrast, transplanting trees in reality would cost thousands or more.

The major expenses came from artificial facilities. A 1-meter-wide, 5-meter-high metal woven net cost 200 Luyecoins, similar to brick walls. A glass curtain wall, 1 meter wide and 3 meters high, was priced at 500 Luyecoins.

For a 50x50 exhibition hall, the cost of brick walls and metal woven nets totaled 40,000 green leaf coins, and the lawn required 2,500 green leaf coins. Additionally, other items like the roof, glass curtain wall, visitor benches, introduction signs, and miscellaneous elements brought the total cost to 60,000 to 70,000 green leaf coins.

These expenses covered both the tourist visit area and the animal shelter operation area; not all of the 50x50 space was allocated for animal activities.

Fang Ye briefly considered compromising by building a smaller pavilion. However, the allure of going big was too strong, so he decided to stick with his initial plan.

He pondered and suddenly remembered the milestone rewards. Completing certain goals, such as collecting various animals and constructing different enclosures, could earn him Luyecoins.

Excited, Fang Ye opened the milestone interface to see the rewards awaiting him. He also noticed that milestones related to venue construction weren't available yet. These required meeting specific criteria, such as size, protective facilities, animal welfare, and supporting science education.

In summary, with the 90,000 green leaf coins he had, including the starting capital for newbies, Fang Ye had enough to build the first official tiger enclosure and improve the living environment of other animals. He contemplated how to re-plan the zoo.

Now, let's discuss about Luna

When I returned to the dormitory today, I was still in a state of shock and disbelief. My thoughts were consumed by the image of Jiaojiao resting on the Director's lap.

The powerful and majestic Siberian tiger!

In the presence of these "petite" human beings.

If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I couldn't have imagined such a scene.

It suddenly struck me: "I should share these photos on my social circle!"

Luna was thrilled and quickly opened WeChat. She selected a few of the best photos and sent them out.

*Ding Dong, Ding Dong.*

Just a few seconds after she sent them, her friends replied with expressions of amazement, and some even jokingly expressed their shock:

"Who is this courageous person?"

"I can't believe he's not afraid of the tiger eating him!"

"He must be the tiger's caretaker, otherwise, who would dare to get so close?"

"This is exactly the expression my cat has when it's annoyed!"

"Truly incredible and eye-opening!"

Within a short span, Luna received over a dozen comments. While she occasionally posted selfies, her social circle was never this lively.

"Where did you take these pictures?"

"At Linhai Zoo! Right in my area!"

Luna replied with a sense of pride.
