Chereads / Zoo system : Chronicles of a Safari Adventure / Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Zoo status

Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Zoo status

When Fang Ye wanted to go out, Jiaojiao arrogantly stopped her body in front of the iron gate and will not allowed to go!

There are pure desires in his eyes, I want him to play with me for a while!

Fang Ye couldn't laugh or cry, and pressed his head with both hands and pushed it several times, finally dispelling his enthusiasm for retention.

"Roar!"

Fang Ye turned his head and waved his hand with a smile.

"Alright, alright! I will accompany you more next time!"

After he came out of the cage, Fang Ye was still immersed in the aftertaste of excitement!

It's so cool to pat a big cat!

For a big cat lover of him, it feels like eating ginseng fruit. The pores on his body are refreshing, and he walks a little bit fluttering.

Although she was a little nervous and irritating when I first started contacting.

Not to mention, the reward for completing the task perfectly is a rare and precious white Bengal tiger cub.

Fang Ye was thinking about the reward, and immediately asked the system with his mind.

"System, how will this white Bengal tiger cub get here? If a rare white tiger suddenly appeared in the zoo, wouldn't it be suspected?"

"Sent in the form of express delivery. Please rest assured that the system will give the distributed animals a legitimate source that can be traced in the real world. For example, this white tiger cub was donated by a foreign zoo, and no one will trace it."  Well, anyway, there is a system to fill the loopholes, so there is no need to worry about the source of the animals.

   "When will it arrive then?"

   "Three days later."

Fang Ye noticed that there was a countdown of "71:55:40" on the cub reward icon. In a blink of an eye, 40 became 39, and there was a line of small characters below that read: Sending.

very good!

Luna kept guarding at the door. When Fang Ye was in the cage, she was too nervous and worried, especially when Jiaojiao roared, her head was frightened and she even forgot how to scream.

I thought that the director was going to transform into tiger food, but who knew that the turning point was so fast that it would be too close at once.

Isn't the director afraid? Why dare to pat with Jiaojiao? Why does Jiaojiao like him so much?

Luna had already suffocated his stomach, at this moment Fang Ye's face was intoxicated and happy, and he didn't know what to say.

After a while, she finally spit out: "Director, you, you are too strong!"

In the tone of the weirdness, admiration and admiration are mixed!

Fang Ye's mouth crooked: "Just know it, there is no need to say it, low-key, low-key."Luna couldn't bear to look straight and tilted her head to the side.

Director, I thought you had changed, but you are still silly!

  ...

After feeding the tiger, the task of the day is over.

dormitory.

In order to consume the excess excitement, Fang Ye held up dumbbells and exercised for a while. After sweating and tired, he couldn't move his back. He sat on a chair, poured himself a cup of cold water, and drank it, and his mood was really calm. Come down.

Although he is the director, the dormitory he lives in is also very simple, that is, the space is larger.

In the corner of the room are a few fitness equipment such as barbells, a rigid bed with a mat, a laptop on a table, and a bookshelf.

Linhai Zoo itself is a small zoo, how luxurious the supporting facilities can be. Above the bookshelf, it is full of animal-related books.

Fang Ye closed his eyes, recalled the memory of the original owner in his mind, opened the second drawer on the right side of the table, and took out a diary.

The content of the diary is not to write about himself, but to carefully record his observations of animals, including eating, emotions, activities, etc.

On July 2nd, the weather was sunny and warm. At around noon, I conducted an inspection of the tiger enclosure and noticed that Jiaojiao appeared lethargic and was resting in the shade. I suspected it was due to the hot weather. To provide some relief, I took the initiative to shower the enclosure with water. Jiaojiao seemed much more comfortable afterward.

Today, Jiaojiao consumed 15 kilograms of food, which was slightly less compared to the previous day. It appears that its appetite wasn't at its peak, but its mighty roar still resonated through the enclosure, indicating that its spirit remained strong.

At Blue Star, due to the unprofessional animal management, only a few large zoos will do this kind of breeding log.

The original master's consciousness in this area is already very advanced!  Fang Ye couldn't help but admire.  However, in the eyes of half a zoo expert, this log still has a lot of crudeness.

A well-maintained breeding log is a vital tool for keeping track of the animals and ensuring their well-being. It goes beyond basic information and encompasses various essential details. It records not only the animal's name and number but also their behavior, the date, and prevailing weather conditions. Additionally, it tracks data related to weight and size, changes in physical signs, gender identification, breeding and birth control measures, feed supply, the condition of animal feces, the state of the exhibition area facilities, equipment modifications, and records of special events.

The feeding log, in particular, plays a critical role in animal care. For instance, if a group of monkeys suddenly exhibits signs of depression and changes in behavior, having a detailed feeding log can provide valuable insights. By reviewing recent changes, one can determine if alterations in the feed formula or feeding schedule have caused their distress, or if equipment issues or the loss of a companion are contributing factors.

Fang Ye recognized the importance of meticulous record-keeping and acknowledged that writing an animal log is a fundamental and straightforward task for every breeder. He also contemplated the need for a more efficient system for zoo management but concluded that, for the time being, handwritten logs would suffice for the size of Linhai Zoo. However, the idea of developing a zoo management system remained in the back of his mind as a potential future project.

Looking through the diary, the outline of  Linhai Zoo gradually became clear in his mind.it is located in the suburbs, covering an area of 30,000 square meters!it is about the size of an average school with two thousand students.

The zoo had once housed dozens of animals, but due to poor management, most of them had been sold to other zoos prior to Fang Ye taking over. Consequently, many cages now sat empty. The remaining residents included tigers, gray wolves, red foxes, alpacas, macaques, and blue peacocks. It was a meager assortment, hardly enough to constitute a zoo.

The Siberian tiger named Jiaojiao and the playful macaques were the main attractions, drawing most of the tourists. On holidays, hundreds of visitors flocked to the zoo, but on the quietest days, only nine visitors strolled through its gates. The ticket price was a mere 10 yuan, and considering the hour-long bus ride from the city, many potential visitors hesitated. The income from ticket sales barely covered the cost of feeding the animals.

Without the support of city policy subsidies, Linhai Zoo teetered on the brink of closure. Its current state resembled that of an aging, decrepit figure—desolate and forlorn.

Fang Ye knew that comprehensive changes were desperately needed. He furrowed his brow, deep in thought.

"Hey, if only this were like a game, where I could transform the zoo at will!"

In his game, the zoos he had designed were splendid, winning accolades in theme zoo competitions. As a discerning and accomplished player, the thought of the cramped cages, gray concrete floors, and dreary atmosphere of Linhai Zoo was deeply unsettling to him. He felt as though he were imprisoned.

A spark of inspiration struck him. Could the system he possessed have a function to help him bring about the transformation the zoo so desperately needed?
