His movements were swift such that Rose could not tell how it happened. His half naked body was hovering over her and Rose who was well aware of the closeness they shared tried to wiggle her way out but the man held both her hands on either side of her body.
He was stronger than her in every possible way and her struggles beneath him were futile especially because her hands were restricted. "Let me go!" With her struggles, she said but instead of him moving away from her, his face moved closer to her and she felt his cold breath hit her warm cheek.
"I won't." He said huskily while savoring her scent that was so enticing making him to crave for a bite.
Lucas thought that he would wait for her to catch up with his feelings but with her every movement, his control kept on slipping away from his hold and as if that was not enough, the girl had innocently wet her lips with her tongue out of nervousness when he had told her to dry his body which made him lose his rationale and all he wanted was to seal her lips with his.
"Please!" She pleaded but her plea only ignited a spark in him that made him burn with with desire to possess her very soul. His eyes that were on her glassy ones moved to look at her nose and then lingered on her plump pink lips that were shivering and leaned in as if wanting to kiss her but instead, he continued to lower his head until his lips lightly touched the crook of her neck.
She was enticing and the more she struggled to get away from him, the more he wanted to tame her. Women always came to him willingly but she was trying to run away from him which made her different.
Not wanting to scare her too much, he let her hands go and immediately he did it, she pushed him away from her and ran out of his room.
Left in his room alone, Lucas' lips pulled up into a smag before getting down from the bed so that he could dress up.

Rose who did not want to catch the attention of the servants who were busy working decreased her pace and headed towards the servant's quarters before someone would spot her. She had hoped that that man would see her as nothing but a maid but she was solely mistaken. Maybe he thought that she would give in to him but She did not want any of that to herself and even though she had no plans of running away, now it felt like the right thing for her to do.
It did not take her long to reach to her room and once she did, she closed the door behind her and leaned her head against it while closing her eyes. "I must leave this place." She whispered with a sigh.
It's not that she couldn't have stayed and stand up against that man, but he was the king which meant that he would get anything that he wanted from her and Rose did not want to be forced to do something that she did not want. She did not know what the future held for her but one thing she was certain about was that working in the palace would result to her untimely death because she would end up killing that disrespectful man.
Once she had calmed her nerves, she started to shuffle through the little stuff in the room and upon seeing a small paper that was in the midst of Stella's clothes, she placed it on her bed and lifted her old mattress in which there was hidden charcoal beneath it.
Rose who was engrossed in writing something on the small paper did not realize that someone had opened the door slowly without making.
Once she was done writing, she neatly folded the paper and put it in the pocket of her dress and on turning around, she came face to face with the last person she wanted to make a conversation with.
Helena who had come out of lady Clara's room had seen Rose from afar walking out of the king's room and she seemed to be in a rush. Out of mere curiosity, she decided to follow the new maid and seeing her heading towards the servant's quarters during the day, she could tell that something was not right because servants were not supposed to go to their rooms during the day.

"So, you are not only a thief but also a spy." Helena said while looking at Rose who was surprised by her presence. Helena had never come across a servant who could read or write. This was something that would bring her a reward by reporting such an issue to the king.
"Hand me that paper." She commanded and Rose whose palms were sweating dipped her hand in the pocket and tightly held the paper without removing it from the pocket. No one had told her much about the palace and it's rules and she did not want to get herself into more trouble than she was already in. She was hoping that she would give it to Stella who would be going outside the palace later in the morning so that it would be sent to her aunt but it seemed that her plans had to change because of this head maid.
"The king will not be pleased when he hears this." Helena stated. During her first year working in the palace there was a male servant who was tortured to death because of sending a letter secretly out of the palace and she could tell that this new girl would end up having the same fate if the mother queen or the king came to know about it.
"It is just a letter to my family." Came Rose's polite words.
"Let us see how the royal family will take the news." With those words, Helena walked out of the room.
