Third person POV
And so, after lunch, the three of them are now in the main lab doing their own thing. The doors to that lab was barricaded just in case zombies might try to barge in. Gen was figuring out the cure for the zombie virus. Kiyona was cleaning out most of the mess. Asato, meanwhile, was studying advanced algebra and world history, two of his favorite subjects, to pass the time while listening to piano music version of his favorite foreign songs. He luckily brought his notebooks a few months ago. He knows that this kind of content was all the rage in the internet world. He was studying for his future, and as if no disaster had happened to him.
Then, Gen was walking by when he saw his study session. "Uh, are you studying?"
Hearing that, Asato responded, "Yes, why?"
"It's an outbreak out there. Why would you study?"
"To pass the time, of course, and I'm doing it for the future just in case things go back to normal."
Asato then flipped to the next page and started highlighting the key words and definitions in his history notebook.
"Okay then."
Gen can't argue about that at all.
Now he knows that Asato was that smart. He then went off to do his work.
Luckily, they had a supply of food at various vending machines and a food storage room that will last for 1 month. At this point, Asato and Kiyona adapted very well, throwing their mundane, daily routines out the window. Also, they didn't know that only Kawasaki was affected by the zombie outbreak, and the city was locked up to prevent the spread of the virus. So far, there are no cases of that virus outside of the city.
