Third person POV
A few days had passed, and the Ruby Group decided to do one thing: to go out and help out while Gen would figure out the cure for the virus. And so, they geared up and went out with their weapons. Asato was armed with a pair of daggers while Kiyona had a baseball bat with spikes wrapped around it. Gen had his pistol and shotgun. Reina, meanwhile, got a European-style sword. They went around the locked-up city looking for someone to help out. Gen masked his identity so any survivors would not see his true state.
Along the way, they killed a couple of zombies. But so far, not a single survivor went to them, as if the entire city was completely deserted. Later on, they saw a wired fence that locked the entire city. The only way out is through the gates guarded by soldiers.
"That must be it," Asato said to them while they hid behind an abandoned bus.
"Should we go in and ask the soldiers to let us out?" Kiyona asked.
"Not sure."
"I'm not sure what are we going to do, amigo," Reina added.
Asato began to think about it, before getting some ideas that are said to be suggested by Taqua in a dream the night before. So, he said to them, "Guys, I have an idea. We can get ask the soldiers for permission to go out of the city borders and back in."
"What?" Gen asked.
"Is that even allowed?" Kiyona added.
"I'm not sure," Asato replied in unsure, "but let's try that then."
His party agreed, and they went to one of the gates.
The soldiers noticed them.
"Stop," one of them said to them, before inspecting their bodies for any suspicious items.
Asato and his party are calm and willing to be checked.
"Can we leave the city?" Asato asked on his group's behalf.
"Are you four survivors?" another soldier asked back.
"Yes, we are," Gen replied back.
But, the soldiers didn't ask Gen to take off his mask due to their assumption that he did it due to the smoke and dust.
So, the inspection came out clean, and the soldiers let them pass through without any doubt or suspicion. Later, they went to Musashi-Shiraishi station in the southeast with a purpose of getting more resources, especially food and water.
