Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Beginning to Explore After a Full Meal

  "Squeak~"

  Another yelp.

The next moment, several rats scurried out of the hole.

The three young dragons, who had long been ready for action, were certainly not going to let these rats get away.

  Dragon's Kiss opened.

Small fireballs, electric currents, cold currents.

Three types of spit were sprayed out at the same time, directly blocking all the rats' routes.

This time, the three spitting young dragons all tried their best, using the strength they hadn't eaten.

The mixed spit covered all the rats.

The young dragons' dragon breath was small in strength and short in duration, and after only five or six seconds of work, all three young dragons felt their throats begin to burn.

Feeling a tingling sensation in his throat, August stopped spitting.

Karel and Angela followed suit and stopped as well.

What came into view when the spitting stopped was a field of rats the size of adult domestic dogs.

The rats had been roasted, electrocuted, shocked and frozen stiff by the cold.

The rats were all still alive, their limbs still twitching, and it was clear that they had all been incapacitated, unable to get up and walk away.

As he looked at the rats, August mentally counted them.

  One, two, three... Nine.

Nine at the mouth of the cave, plus the one he had just shot himself, that made ten.

Smelling the rotten odour that came from the air, his stomach protested again.

Don't scream, that'll calm you down, August thought.

Taking a step, he crawled over to a charred rat, opened his dragon kiss and tore a chunk of flesh from it with one bite.

As he chewed on the meat, August's vertical pupils narrowed slightly at the taste, which could only be described as tender and juicy.

At first August thought he was going to resist, but he didn't realise how good the taste actually was.

Karel and Angela looked at August as he started to eat, staring straight into August's bloodied dragon kiss.

  Hungry and wanting to eat.

Dragon saliva dripped down the corners of the two young dragons' mouths and onto the floor.

  Two strong glances were noticed.

August stopped eating and looked over.

Two young dragon eyes were staring straight at him.

Dragon saliva dripped down their grinning dragon kisses onto the floor.

  Until he forgot about them.

August picked up the half-eaten mouse, his paws scooping up two more before he walked over to the one he'd just killed and dropped it.

Then August looked up at the two young dragons and opened his mouth.

"The rest of you three dragons."

Hearing August's words, Karel and Angela instantly turned into hungry dragons and tore into the rats.

They didn't take offence at August's orders, it was normal, the bigger ones ate more, even with the Mother of Dragons.

Angela was even a little surprised by this task.

It's not too little, it's too much to give, and according to the MULTICLORED DRAGON character, in a situation of absolute dominance, it's good enough to give two of them.

If it were Angela, she'd probably choose just one.

Karel's words, wait until I've had enough.

Take your eyes off Karel and Angela.

August also buried himself in his food.

  ....

  Ten minutes later.

August lay contentedly on the floor, his bulbous belly pointing to the sky.

Beside him, Karel and Angela looked in the same direction.

With his big scarlet tongue stretched out to lick the blood from the dragon's kiss, August slowly remembered.

I'm so full, I don't want to move.

Only three of them were actually full.

He looked at the one remaining large rat at his side.

Stretching out a paw, he picked up the mouse, too hungry at the moment and too absorbed in his dry food to notice what the mouse looked like.

On closer inspection, the rat looked no different from a gerbil on Earth, both with a light brown fluffy coat, but when he turned the mouse in his paws, well, there was a big difference in size, with an extra pair of large disc teeth and a pair of long front paws in its mouth.

After examining it, August immediately lost interest in the rat.

He threw the rat to the ground in his paws.

Take the rest of this one back for a late night snack.

The dragonhead cocked his eyes a bit to look at the many dry bushes around him, maybe even a whole barbecue or something.

After about seven or eight minutes of just lying there and resting, the bulbous stomach flattened out again.

  Look at the recovered belly.

Gargoyles can have powerful stomachs, August thought to himself.

He glanced over to Karel and Angela and saw that the two young dragons were also getting up.

"What's next for August, back to the cave?" Angela asked.

"Right back to bed, of course," Karel offered.

Gargoyles are a race of inertia and generally like to sleep.

This inertia manifested itself in Karel's body.

The eyes of the two young dragons fell on August.

  Meeting both eyes, August spoke.

"Let's not go back yet, we're full for this meal, what about the next one?"

August was already thinking about his next meal, a kind of worry about the next meal after this one.

After all, it's a hellhole like the desert.

"But I want to sleep~" complained Karel.

If you're full, you should go back to bed, what's the point of wasting time here, she couldn't understand.

Hearing Karel's complaint, August Dragonhead turned to Karel.

"Do you want to wake up like this next time? Take your chances in the desert with your hunger."

"Will you be so lucky next time?"

"If you want, you can go back~"

After hearing August's words, Karel fell into silence.

It's so hard to choose between sleep and hunger.

When he thought of the hunger he had just endured, it was a feeling that made the dragon want to go crazy.

No, I don't want that feeling to happen again.

Karel shifted the dragon's head from side to side, his gaze serious as he looked at August.

"I don't want to starve. I'll do whatever you want as long as you don't let me starve."

Hearing this, August nodded his dragon head in satisfaction.

Fortunately, the simpleton wasn't stupid enough.

Witnessing the whole thing, Angela had a funny feeling in her head, reasonable red dragons, this could be interesting.

Convincing this Karel that there's a young dragon out there.

The dragon's head turned to look at Angela.

  "What do you think?"

  "At your service," Angela.

"All right then, let's split up and fly in three directions for half an hour and then fly back to the rendezvous point, no matter how far we've flown."

  "You choose your direction first."

August looked at Karel and Angela in silence as the words left his mouth, waiting for them to make their choice.

Beyond that is the Dragon's Nest of the Summit Cliffs, and that direction doesn't need to be explored, so there are a total of three directions to choose from.

  Left, right and forward.

"I'll go left," Karel said dryly.

The one who said that lifted her wings and flew into the sky in a dry and incomparable way.

"I'll go right then," said Angela.

Angela, who had chosen her direction, also flew away.

August, who was still in the same place, looked ahead, and in front of his eyes was the endless Great Rift Valley, and he didn't know how long this Great Rift Valley was.
