Chapter 85 - Pandemonium

Location: War Realm

After the events of the pyramid all activities of the Void King were concealed behind doors. No one had seen him not even his subjects. The civil war however started to pick back up. Sword King seemed to be attacking more regularly. Something had shifted in the universe and now chaos seemed to be all anyone could feed upon. The War realm in particular was a land of unrest and genocide as the War King battled rebel forces to the dimensional incursions from the Chivalry and Tech Realm. He sat upon his throne staring at screens floating in the room as he saw his armies being decimated in a open desert field as knights battled his warrior brigades led by his man Torrent. On another screen was his City Watch who guarded the city were fighting a small army of men and women of War Realm. They had taken up arms and held up a blue flag with a demon mask printed upon it. He sighed out of frustration, 'I should be in battle right now' he then stood and paced the room. He stared out the oculus and could see explosions in the far off distance. Not far from the city capital he resided in. He then walked over to his scrolls stacked up and found one pertaining to the state of affairs. The one he looked at first was the story of a blue demon masked wearing vigilante that was being called the Ghost Demon. This was not the first report and was merely one from a stack of them.

'Reported by the head of the city watch reports of a masked assailant has been targeting production factories and banks. He has been known to kill all those who were government officials and will engage any city watch officer. He is formidable, fast, and powerful. Reports indicate assailant can phase through walls and possesses duel elements' he seemed to pause after reading this. 'Not only do I have to compete with the Void faction and this rebel Ghost Demon. I still haven't heard anything more about this man then he has been attacking me for half a year now. These reports keep piling up' he threw the scroll down. 'Wont be the last report I get if I don't do something about this?' He thought picking up his Boar Mask from the table. He stared at the bronze finish of the shining metal. Running his fingers over the Mohawk top that extended behind to the top of his back when worn. He put the mask on and felt a surge of power. He unholstered his revolver spun the cylinder seeing all bullets loaded. He flicked it back in place holstered the weapon and approached a stand of blades. He took two both turned to light and went into a ring. He adjusted his tie under his vest. Cracked his knuckles as he then approached a magic circle. The circle lit up and a voice came from the circle. "Welcome your highness. Where would you like to travel?" The female voice asked. "Take me to the Red Desert. Put a tracer on me just in case things go south. He felt a rush of wind around him as the circle branded to his wrist started to glow.

In a flash he was gone and he was surrounded by a bright light. In a few seconds he was then standing in red sand. He looked around seeing a war raging around him. Close to him he saw one of his soldiers fighting two knights before he was killed mercilessly. A loud bang erupted and then another. Both knights fell to the ground dead with two big holes through their breast plates. He then cut through all enemy knights killing all with a mere dagger he spun about while also using his gun. Duel wielding both he was a merciless fighter. Never giving any that he set upon a reprieve along with a savage wound from his dagger. He then came upon a giant knight in big armor with a big battle axe. He chuckled as he looked at the War King. "Well looks like my commander was right. You would come all the way out into the battle to save face. You have been taking losses left and right?" The big knight stated. The War King said nothing as he dodged an ax slash. He shot four bullets at the giant that seemed to bounce off the vital spots he was aiming for. He holstered his gun and dagger. He sighed as one blue ring on his right hand index finger started to glow bright.

From it a giant battle club with spikes upon it was produced as he deflected an ax attack. He side stepped and then drove the club across the knight's knee giving out an audible crack and ping of metal. He dropped to one knee groaning and losing his balance. He slashed with his ax wildly and without any thought as to what he was doing. The pain of his knee breaking was dulling his mind and senses. The king then caught the ax handle mid air and then wretched it from his grasp. He moved so fast the knight wasn't able to keep up. His weapon was then drove into his skull through his helmet. The War King turned to another knight to kill them not watching as the giant knight keeled over and died.

He then ran into the fray he saw the leader of this army and he was engaged in slaughtering the War King's soldiers. He was a tall man with sunken cheeks, buzzed hair, fiery green eyes, and calm demeanor. He wore heavy looking armor with a sigil of two battle axes crossed. He didn't derive any pleasure from killing of the men in front of him. He drove an ax head across the soldier's chest. He shot at by machine guns. His armor seemed to take the hits no problem and his flesh uncovered was protected by some thin energy field invisible to the naked eye. Till struck by force creating a glowing energy around him building up kinetic energy. Then it erupted in an explosion sending soldiers flying, or disintegrating them to ash.

"I see the Sword King has embraced the technological aspects of using magic and chi. His men are well equipped, and I must get my hands on that armor for my own men?" he activated the enchanted boots he wore to enhance his speed. He moved like lightning through the battlefield till he was in front of the head knight. His heels were glowing red from the sprint. They dimmed deactivating the enchanted boots and he slung the club upon his shoulder as he faced the knight. The battle raging all around them as they conversed, "So you must be a dog of the Sword King? Seems you and your men have gotten lost?" the War King said with a spiteful tone. "Your majesty here on the battle field? So the rumors are true you fight alongside your men? Very honorable of you? My King sends his tidings may we end this skirmish and fight man on man?" the knight spoke with elegance and calm. His voice deep and menacing at the same time. "A the illusion of chivalry? I would like that very much. If you die your army is to vacate? If I die well feel free to sack my city I'll be dead, so" he shrugged nonchalant. The knight nodded to these terms and pulled a horn out from behind him. He then blew into it hard sending a loud noise over the battle field. His knights then retreated from their engagements and lined up behind him. Those who were alive and those who could walk stood at attention shields up. The soldiers of the War King did the same they were clearly outnumbered, but all stood ready guns, swords, axes, and bows were still out ready to fight. Their red armor were all stained in gore and some swayed in place from exhaustion.

"My name is Walt I am Second Blade to the Sword King of the Chivalry Realm. I challenge the War King of War Realm to a duel. The terms are set; if I should die all Knights are to return to the Chivalry Realm. If the War King should lose we sack his capital and take all those present into custody" Walt looked at his men and then back at the army of the enemy in front of him. War King nodded, "And all bear witness I accept these terms" he spoke coldly but with a glint of excitement in his voice. The club disappeared and from his other ring he produced a halberd that was glowing red. He spun it in one hand getting the feel for the weight. He then unclipped the small cape behind him letting it fall to the ground. He surged with chi as he made ready for Walt to attack. He dug his heels into the dirt and once Walt turned to face him. He attacked flying forward which caused Walt to react quickly hitting the halberd spear head to the side.

They were then locked in a back and forth, but the War King was faster unencumbered by heavy armor. Walt was slow but his defense was better as kinetic energy built up on his armor along with being sturdy the king's halberd was scrapping off it creating only sparks. The heavy ax came down digging into the ground creating sparks of lighting from it. A gem upon it glowing with chi giving the ax a boosted elemental enchantment. The War King dashed backwards as he analyzed the fight in his mind thinking of scenario's, 'it's not the armor that is the problem its the enchantment once it blows it must need a cool down time that's when he'll be more on the defensive?' he thought. He then began to attack more and spun the halberd around with such skill. He struck all vital spots; knees, shoulders, chest, and head. All deflected by the shield enchantment. He dodged an ax slash used the pole of the weapon to give one last hit to the stomach sending the knight flying back a ways. His armor started to glow and then erupted the light pouring out of it eradicating rocks and dirt around him.

War King then threw out a glowing white hot ball of fire causing it to explode in front of the knight who was now blinded. The halberd then slashed through his armor protecting his right knee. It slashed through cutting his flesh underneath blood then poured from the wounded armor. Walt staggered back putting all weight upon his left leg he had sweat pouring from his forehead. A fist was then delivered across his face by brass knuckles upon the king's fist. He the halberd was gone and he was now holding a Morningstar mace. Walt's ax started to glow with lightning as he slashed sending a blade of energy at the king. He dodged and flipped over them and created swirling fire around his fist and then jabbed sending the ball flying. Walt twirled the ax and was able to block but he was thrown back. He slammed to the ground and began to glow blue from the kinetic energy. He groaned in pain and smoke covered him along with soot on his face.

He tried to sit up quickly, but another fire ball erupted on him sending him sliding across the ground. His ax snagged on a rock releasing from his grasp skidding away. He tried sit up, but again was struck with fireballs. The War King repeated this over and over keeping calm as he walked towards him in no hurry. The knight's armor started to glow again only to be hit one more time with a fireball causing it to explode. After the energy field dissipated the War King jumped into the air bringing the Morningstar down caving in Walt's chest plate. He gasped out blood and air from the impact. He stared at the king with a shocked expression. He tried to speak to only stop as a dagger was then stabbed into his throat all the way to his spine killing him instantly. The War King jerked the Morningstar free swinging it to the side splattering blood about it along with shards of Walt's armor. The two battle axes upon his chest were unidentifiable.

He looked at the knights staring at them with glowing eyes in the boar mask's eye sockets. "Best be off then" he told the closest knight.
