The group came to a black opening leading into the pyramid seemed to be forcibly open. The doors sat in a crumbling mess in the hall ten feet from the opening. Red Demon was on guard has he expanded his chi senses amplifying them with his Mind element like All Seeing taught him in the temple.
'See without seeing' she would say looking to his left seeing her spirit floating quietly made him uncomfortable seeing how quiet she was. It showed the seriousness of a position they were in. She was usually chatty and liked making quips. He only knew her for a short time, but he could tell something was up. As they walked down the dark hallway she was silent. Then she disappeared into his Mind Palace. 'You seem frightened?' he thought. Her ethereal form floating over his ruins in the only land mass in his Mind Palace.
"Sister Spinner is an old acquaintance of mine. I'm sorry I didn't mention it, but it's true. We were like sisters. I'm starting to see why she put you in my temple. You will need me to deflect the corruption of the Nexus. She doesn't want you falling into enemy hands at all costs" Red Demon's eyes rested on Sister Spinner's back. 'Tell me about her? Give me a leg up on her. If we survive this I will get answers!' He stated. All Seeing merely nodded "Understandable. She is a Primordial like Prometheus. Both not from our universe either. Prometheus was a Titan and a prisoner of the gods in his home world. Sister Spinner is from the Land of Fate. A dimension that lays between Purgatory, Hell, and Heaven. It's a lynch pin keeping it all together and stable. She was recruited by the World when she fell out of favor in her world. She was exiled but became a Spinner of Fate here. She is the World's favorite child they call them" she explained. "She can see all futures, but more as choices. Things can be changed before the ink dries so to speak" Red Demon interrupted, 'Why was she exiled?'
She paused, "She was part of a faction that believed they should use their abilities to help change futures rather than be a spectator. This caused a rift and then a civil war. She was one of the ones exiled for this rebellion" she explained. 'hmm..' he merely said thinking on her words. He kept his eye fixed on the Primordial. 'She said she created my Thread of Necessity is what she called it?' All Seeing was also deep in thought. "It is her role in this universe. But she seems to have a scheme up her sleeve. It is unheard of for someone to be born with a Soul Core able to hold all elements. Dual elements are common, but to have all? It makes you a true threat. Once you master your chaos element adding four to the mix will be a feat this world has never seen. She will use that to her end goal. Be on guard around her. From what you said she over powered you. So at your level right now your merely a fly to be swatted" Red Demon internally nodded.
He had come far, and even held his ground with Prometheus. But he knew that fight could of been one sided if the primordial had been really trying. He would address all this if and when they survive this. He pressed his hand against the wall and felt a connection with the shadows. He followed the darkness looking through it as it travelled through the areas of the pyramid. Like an echo location he could see shapes throughout the floors of the pyramid. Seeing corrupted staggering about in halls, a bottom floor underground, and an energy source at the tip of the pyramid.
He could make a shape with a strong aura and black hole of a core. "He's in the base floor of the pyramid underground" he said. The group all stopping in their tracks turning to look at him. Sister Spinner gave him a nod and Prometheus turned back around and the group now focused on getting to the ground floor. As they walked they found a hall leading to a long temple room and floors on each side of it leading up. They entered the temple and found a statue of a wolf. Seeing Red Demon staring up at it. She spoke, "Wolf King needed to show credit" she smiled staring at the statue. Before the smile fell and she became somber. "Let's keep moving. Stairs are behind the wolf statue" she then led the way.
A secret door carved into the wall was open and a single narrow row of stairs winded down a dark hallway. Red Demon produced a flame over his hand. "I'll lead the way" he said bluntly as he passed everyone and was now in front. He used his chi senses pushing them outward into the darkness as he walked. His mind ached from this much effort using elements simultaneously. Using the Mind Element to see in front of him. And the flame in his palm. Even something this simple was making his mind ach. But All Seeing told him the strain helps the Mind Palace grow and evolve like the other centers of his body. In evolving his mind his thinking and mental capacity would rise exponentially. 'A quick mind is what truly makes a warrior' Raijin had once told him. He took those words to heart and applied it to his every move.
The single file party descends deeper into the pyramid. The stairs led to a deep temple that was the size of the base of the pyramid. Stairs were carved all the way down to the center. In the center they could see a glowing purple tall corpse laying upon an altar. Chains wrapped around it and a magic circle under it glowing purple. They could see a figure standing over the tall body. The person was all in black cloaked over a mirror mask. "You've lost your edge Spinner. You took your time getting here. I expected more?" The Void King said turning to face them. "So here to stop me from getting back the Nexus?" He shook his head. "Back?" Smiling Demon asked. "Yes. See it's a complicated story and I'm really not getting into it. It would be in your best interest to just walk away" the king threatened. Sister Spinner spoke up. "So your him? Took that body and now repeating history? How original Puppeteer!" She yelled. Void King chuckled, "Feisty as ever. As for repeating history let's keep you guessing shall we? You notice you can't see my future just the results of my decisions? You don't think that was made by design?" The Void King's words seemed to get to Sister Spinner. Prometheus scoffed 'ENTRAPMENT!' He thought as his grimoire activated the spell. The Void King swiped the air as he cut through tentacles of energy erupting around him. The spell was immediately destroyed before it could fully activate.
"Rude. We were having a fun catching up. I still have one more thing to address" he pointed at Red Demon. "You! You have been a thorn in my side lately? I think killing you here would be the best course of action. So let's get this over with I have places to be and people to kill! But when I get my hands on you Slayer. It'll be slow and I'll make you watch the rest of your group die before you" light erupted from his hands as he threw beams at them. They all dodged in different directions. Red Demon tucked and rolled away getting up fast. He sent a trail of shadow spikes to block the King's view. He knew this attack wasn't enough. He needed to bide his time. He manifested all forged weapons he collected from his Soul Core. He coated them all in Flame element and Shadow element. His mind flared to life as he activated his Mind element. 'This won't last long. I'm doing something I have never done before. This is gonna have a serious backlash! I better make it count' he then dashed forward with all his weapons around him. His mind was clear and focused on killing the King.
The King was attacked by the Primordial siblings. Sister Spinner attacked with big needle like blades. Prometheus held in his hands a battle hammer with the head of a dragon. The Void King blocked with a force field and then waved his hand sending them back flying from the explosion. Smiling came to his side holding his big giant broad sword. With the axe and scythe floating around him.
His body was coated in steel armor the King was thrown back from the sword slashed as his force field exploded. He dodged another attack from Smiling and he manifested two short swords made from light. He parried each attack from Smiling's weapons, "What sword is that?" He asked dodging a slash and stab. Smiling said nothing as he kept on with his barrage of attacks. He could feel a pull from the corpse that felt like metal. 'What might that be? Is that feeling the Nexus?' He thought. He saw out the corner of his eye Red Demon coming up with a barrage of weapons.
He then attacked and then bolted to the side past the king. 'I see what your doing Red. I'll focus on taking the Nexus' he attacked again keeping the king focused on him so Red Demon's attack would be successful. He dodged another attack from Smiling before he was hit from behind. Blades stuck in his back and became engulfed in flames. He was also flying forward towards a wall. He couldn't stop the impact before he plunged into the wall creating a crater.
The hole then exploded into a fiery explosion as all weapons came at him like a rain of metal. The walls collapsed in and a cloud of debris spread through the chamber like a haze. Smiling Demon still coated in his armor looked down at the Nexus that was glowing purple and had a purple fog come of it. It was a stone that in the shape of a oval. It also seemed to he alive as its surface rippled like liquid. It was embedded in the chest of the corpse laying upon the alter. "Don't touch it!" Sister warned coming up behind him. He turned, "If we take it we can leave him empty handed!" He stated. Red Demon staggered up close to them still holding Demon's Wrath and Moon Ray. 'I doubt that attack killed him?' He thought staring at the hole. Prometheus was silent and seemed to think the same as Red Demon. In his hand was Green Hornet bow. His eyes glowing blue as he shifted to the eyes of an eagle. He could see movement inside the hole. "He's not wrong if we take it and run we can keep it from him?" He stated never taking his eyes of the Void King. "That's just it. You touch it you become it's new vessel. The Nexus has no true master merely a partnership with the vessel. All we can do is fight or, Prometheus you use the Warp Spell sending him deep in space?" She suggested. "Would that even work?" He said with a look of confusion.
Just then they heard a screech echo through the halls of the pyramid. They all stopped and stood still. A clap then echoed from the hole the Void King landed in. "Well isn't this a surprise! Seems a very special Hellion has arrived" He chuckled.
