Chapter 9 - Twink

"This is your evaluation week. You have been learning basic skills and training with your teachers. At the end of the week, you will be assigned a level according to your learned abilities as well as physical strengths. "

This was the first class of the day and Levi was already feeling his stomach sinking. He had tried and tried but no matter what he did, he couldn't master a single ability nor do a single spell.

The consequences of being untalented would land him in hot water and that was what he feared the most.

"Relax. You'll be fine. " Eliot whispered.

"Easy for you to say. You have already learned Earth ability. "

Eliot had been among the lucky ones to be able to practice magic. He could move soil with his hands and mind as well as make any shape he liked with mud without touching it.

Even though he could only move a small amount at a time, it was a step in the right direction.

There were four basic magic abilities. There was air, water, earth, and fire. As one progressed, other abilities were unlocked as the body adapted to magic. There were an infinite amount of abilities but only a few ones were known.

The known ones were electricity–people who could harness and manipulate electrical energy, light–people who could manipulate and harness natural light, stone, metal, and moon.

For people with the metal and stone ability, it meant that they could move metallic and stone structures respectively. People with the moon ability could harness and manipulate energy from the moon.

Then there were the big three special magical abilities that were; telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation. People who mastered any of these three were considered special and unique.

Levi knew he was doomed. Maybe it was because he was half demon. As far as he knew, Sunarians practiced pure magic. A demon was anything but pure.

"How about I help you after classes?" Eliot asked, pulling Levi from his train of thought.

"No need. "

Eliot waited for Levi to expound and reveal why he didn't want his help but Levi didn't say anything else. He was starting to think that befriending this guy wasn't such a good idea after all.

He wanted to survive on Sunaru and Levi was only lessening his chances. He was already on the radar of the third year students because of speaking to Levi's love interest Cora. He didn't want to get himself into some more trouble.

"Do you want to explore the school after class?" Levi asked as soon as classes ended at the end of the day. Eliot at this time was rethinking his friendship with Levi and had decided to stay away from him for a while.

"No, I need to practice my earth ability some more. "

Levi understood this. It would be better to go alone anyway. Levi liked to know the kind of surroundings he was residing in. This way, if he got into any trouble, he would be able to hide or escape.

He put his books in his room and left immediately. He chose daytime because things lurked in the darkness. He had also made enemies with Dickie. Levi wasn't sure when or where Dickie's wrath would find him.

Little did he know, Dickie was the least of his worries.

He left the dorms and walked to the school fountain. It was right near the main entrance to the school. As he explored, he saw flowers, plants, and fruits he had never seen before. They were in all colors, unlike the ones on earth.

In his awe of everything, he forgot to be careful. He was being followed by four guys and he didn't even notice.

He counted five buildings inside the school, excluding the dorms, four gardens, and eight fountains. He was standing right outside a building that looked old and abandoned. It was in the back of the very school near the perimeter wall.

It was hidden by all the other buildings of the school so it was very hard to stop. There was a pavement leading into it and a huge brown door at the entrance.

The door was big and heavy and it looked like it needed at least three people to open.

It looked creepy so Levi decided to leave. As soon as he turned around, he was tackled to the ground.

"There he is. The guy who thinks he can be with your girlfriend. " Dickie said to three other third years with a satisfied smile on his face. He had struck a deal with a third-year named Roman.

The deal was for him to lead Roman to Levi and in exchange he would teach him how to practice advance in magic. It seems Levi had pissed off someone important and powerful.

Dickie couldn't help but think that Levi had a dying wish.

"You want my girlfriend, huh twink? You think you are worthy of her? " Roman asked as he punched Levi over and over again. He saw no point in wasting his magic on a guy like Levi.

"N-No, please. I've stayed away from her since you warned me! " Levi tried to defend himself but Roman wasn't listening.

"Then why is she cold to me nowadays? It's because of you! I know you have been secretly meeting up. This is why you were roaming the school, right? You were hoping to see her. "

"No! I just wanted to know my surroundings! "

"Liar! I will not let a twink steal my woman! You will die today. "

Roman gestured for his friends to pick up Levi and drag him towards the brown door. Roman reached into his pockets and pulled out a large brown key.

"What are you going to do to him? " Dickie asked, sounding worried. He liked to bully people and beat them up too but this was starting to feel extreme.

"None of your business. If you want to join him then keep speaking. "

Roman opened the big brown door and his friends threw Levi inside. They locked the door and turned to leave. Dickie wanted to ask questions but he was scared of upsetting Roman.

Still, he decided to take his chances.

"What is behind that door?"

Roman paused and turned to face Dickie. He went too close to the guy, staring down at him. He was at least 6'5 while Dickie was 6'0. Where Dickie was a little muscular, Roman was ripped.

"You're nosy. "

"C'mon man. I won't tell anyone. "

Roman laughed and grabbed Dickie by the shirt.

"That is the dungeon where monsters from this planet and other planets are held. Their levels are separated by floors. "

"What? "

"Relax, he is on the bottom floor where the weakest monsters are. But the weakest monsters are not really weak. "

"Isn't that…murder?"

"Yes. They will rip him into pieces because that ass can't defend himself. That is all his fault. You can run and tell your little daddy about this and you will end up like the twink. You have no idea how powerful I am in this school. "

Roman turned around and left Dickie so scared he was about to piss his pants.

Meanwhile, Levi coughed unaware that creatures were watching him as they waited to attack.
