Chapter 6 - Humiliation

The guards led Levi to the principal's office. He kept wiping his palms on his trousers as he walked down the hallway because he was nervous.

He had a pretty good idea of why he had been called to Adam's office. Dickie had snitched on Levi and told his father all about the diary. Levi had known this would happen but he had hoped that it would happen a little later.

"He is waiting for you inside, " the guard said and pushed Levi inside the office. He stumbled a little and entered the office.

Adam was sitting in his chair with Dickie standing next to his chair. They were both smiling like they knew something Levi didn't. When Adam heard that his son had read a diary where a boy wrote all the events that were going to happen during the apocalypse, he didn't believe it.

That was a gift he hadn't ever seen before and he had seen almost every magic power from the aliens they abducted about the apocalypse. This was why he had barely aged in a span of twenty years.

"Sit down, " Adam said as he gestured to the chair opposite him. Levi shook his head and looked around the office like he expected someone else to be there.

"I'm okay with standing. "

Adam felt irritated already. He liked it when everyone did what he wanted.

"My son tells me he read something in a diary that belonged to you. What do you have to say about that? "

Levi's heart started beating fast as he wondered what he was going to say. Levi took a deep breath and decided to deny the existence of that diary. It was back on Earth and he was on a new planet.

The diary was destroyed by now.

"I have no idea what you're talking about. "

Dickie's face fell. His father didn't believe him the first time he talked about the diary. Now he was never going to believe him. It was clear in the way he was looking at Levi.

Levi didn't seem like the type of guy who could do magic. He was weak and basic

"If you're lying–"

"I don't know about any diary. "

Levi noticed he had irritated Adam by cutting him off and he hoped the consequences for that wouldn't be brutal. Adam had been known to murder people for getting him the wrong hair gel brand. He could kill Levi right now and get away with it.

"You can go. "

"Father–"

"He can go. " This time, Adam said it firmer. Levi scurried away, leaving Dickie to face the wrath of his father.

"I swear I read the diary. He had written everything that happened in the apocalypse. He's a freak. I know he is. "

Adam got up and punched his son in the eye. He was tired of the stupidity and shallowness of Dickie. He liked to jump to conclusions without waiting to hear what the other party thought.

"How did I end up with such a foolish son? Wake up. We have no evidence. All we can do is pretend we take his word for it and monitor him. That is a power I can't wait to get my hands on. "

Adam smiled and looked around his office. Selling out his race for an office as a principal seemed stupid but he had a plan. He was going to take over and control all magic. He just needed to find the source.

The power of seeing the future could mean seeing the past and finding out where magic came from. If he knew that, he would know how to harness its power and become the strongest magician in the world.

Levi, on the other hand, didn't know what to think about the whole meeting.

[Congratulations on lying perfectly. I think he believed you]

"Congratulations? He didn't believe me one bit. I just know he will keep an eye on me. "

The system didn't know what it was talking about. Dickie wouldn't rest until he got a confession from him and Dickie was very convincing with his fists. Levi considered himself a walking target.

"You owe me answers. Where have I been for the past year and how did I survive? Why me? Why do I have to become this–this thing? "

From a distance away, it seemed like he was talking to himself. He looked crazy and people were looking at him like he was.

[This system will not answer those questions]

"Really? Just like that? " He asked a little too loudly, catching the attention of a girl who was walking by.

"Are you okay? " She asked in a soft voice. When Levi turned to look at her, he was in awe.

The girl had short dark blue hair that reached her neck and mesmerizing violet eyes. She had a cute heart-shaped face and pink full lips.

Girls made Levi nervous. He was confused as to why she was talking to him. Girls at his former school rarely ever did. On the rare occasion that they spoke to him, it was to tell him about how much of an ugly loser he was.

"Were you talking to yourself? " The girl asked when Levi didn't answer her first question.

"I-uh, I–"

"Pussy! " Dickie shouted before Levi could compose himself. He started laughing along with his friends. Levi ran away from the girl he had been talking to due to all the humiliation he felt.

When he got to his room, he angrily kicked his bed and groaned. He was tired of all the humiliation he had faced growing up. Maybe the system was a good thing. He realized he should have been focusing on leveling up.

If he became stronger than Dickie, he would finally show him that he wasn't weak.

[Feel that anger, host? That is called bitterness. Do you want to defeat all your enemies and make them regret everything they have done to you? ]

Levi didn't answer. He was still angry and his nostrils were flaring. He felt like murdering Dickie.

[Task: Win a fight against Dickie and gain +10 exp. You have 24 hours to complete this task or have all your stats lowered. Good luck! You're going to need it]
